Slow mail after upgrade of the Sierra

Since my upgrade to Sierra, Mail has been slow to load messages.  Before, when I chose a message in mail seems almost instantly in the viewer of allowing me to pass by mail with either the arrow or remove the key quickly. Now when a message is selected, it takes a second or two for the message in the Viewer.  Really boring.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you, Tom

I can understand how it would be boring. I suggest the reconstruction of the mailbox, or all the mailboxes, according to the following: Mail for Mac: rebuild the mailbox.

It will take a few moments to complete, based on the total number of messages in the mailbox store. Until he finishes, it is normal to see the content of the overview column Mail flash message or disappear briefly that she rebuilt the message database. It will also slow to mail operation until there finishes.

It would be prudent to back up your Mac before doing this, but if rebuilding a mailbox causes all e-mail messages that are deleted they were probably not recoverable in any case. I recommend you save in this particular circumstance in an abundance of caution, but it is something that everyone should do.

  • IMAP e-mail accounts went into Mail after upgrade of the Sierra

I have three accounts of mail main I use, everything set up as IMAP accounts on my server of companies. I access it with four devices - 2013 iMac, iPhone 6, iPad (generation 3d) and a MacBook Pro 2010. I did the upgrade of Sierra on the MacBook Pro and, if my email seems to operate normally (inboxes and messages are still there - if I delete something from a box on the MBP, it appears in the trash on other devices, mail received as usual, etc.), when you go into Preferences-> accounts IMAP accounts make their appearance is no longer Although I see them as POP (which they were initially put in place as, but those who have been disabled when I have everything changed in IMAP and I just have not deleted.) They still show as inactive).  I also have an IMAP to iCloud account and who shows up as usual.

    Any thoughts?

Check in your library > Mail folder. You see a V3 folder? If so, you always see your IMAP accounts listed? You must have a V4 folder now with your data.

In Mail > Preferences > account, you can click on - to remove the accounts. This will bring you to system preferences > Internet accounts. Delete the account and add it as IMAP.

Note: When you remove a POP account it also deletes all the data in the POP Inbox, drafts, Sent, Trash, and junk. You can save these data just in case he deletes also server when the account is deleted.

  • Fans of fast and slow mail after upgrade of Sierra

So I too just upgraded to Sierra, and I have two problems.  The first I noticed almost immediately after a reboot is something is causing fans to run almost non-stop.  I looked at the level of the console and I see that several root applications use more than 100% of the time CPU.  What the hell is happening here?

Second, Mail has now slowed down to the point that it is almost unusable.  I click on an email and it will literally be anywhere from 15 to 20 seconds for the mail to open.  Not a complex HTML with email of old thing plain video simple.  What the hell is happening here?  It's maddening.

  • Import iPhoto Library after upgrade of the Sierra

I upgraded to Sierra and now try to import some of my photos from iPhoto library that I had saved to Time Machine. The Photos App says 'nothing to import' - everyone has figured this out? Thank you!

Belongs to the iPhoto Library always Time Machine backup?

Can restore to a different drive. You cannot migrate the library as part of a Time Machine backup or a disk Time Machine.

To migrate the iPhoto for photo library, drag the Photos icon in the Dock or launch Photos while holding down the button options. That will bring up a panel of library selector. Now select the iPhoto in restored library.

The Photos App says 'nothing to import' - everyone has figured this out? Thank you!

Photos cannot import libraries and merge them into existing libraries. He can't open a library to create a library of Photos converted.

If you already have a library of Photos, read the help page on how to switch between several libraries of Photos:

    Thank you!

  • Can't change language after OS upgrade of the Sierra

    Hello world

After the upgrade of the Sierra, my MacBook Pro has decided to return to the French.

Now, I am unable to change the language on the menus and dialog boxes.

I tried to put the English in language and text preferences, same problem.

I also tried to run sudo languagesetup, same problem.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    See you soon!

Language changes are not applied immediately to the running applications, but they should be applied to the applications that you start after the change is made. Changes to the Finder will apply if you raise, or to do it easily, just log out and back in.

Log out and back in? Or restart your mac? If you didn't do it and let us know.

  • Mailboxes are not visible in mail after you run the OS El Capitan 10.11.5 upgrade.

Mailboxes are not visible in mail after you run the OS El Capitan 10.11.5 upgrade.  The boxes are there (somewhere), and I can save the messages in them.  I can just see them or call back messages on my macbook air.  Structure of messaging and mailbox is intact on my iPad and iPhone, and all messages are recoverable.  Any help to restore the messages on my Mac would be greatly appreciated.

The mailbox list is divided into categories with such topics on my Mac. When you position the cursor on one of these positions (with the exception of the mailboxes), you should see the Word display / hide it on the right. Please, click on show, if that's what you see.

In the category of the mailboxes, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small tip of arrow. If the arrow points to the right, click it so that it points downwards.

Also note that you may need to scroll the list of mailboxes upwards or downwards to see it all.

  • after upgrade to macOS sierra cannot connect to citrix receiver apps

I use Citrix receiver apps to make my day to day work. The same citrix apps are also accessible via a web browser (Safari) and everything worked fine until the version IE Capitan.

After upgrade to macOS sierra I can't you connect/launch of citrix apps. I tried with receiver and citrix via web browser as well, but its not connecting.

Is anyone else facing the same issue or know the fix.

Earlier, I thought that maybe some problem of connectivity, but after a lot of troubleshooting it still did not work and shows the same error "failed to initialize." (attached image).

Then clicked on suddenly to mind that I just upgraded my MacBook OS. In order to confirm if his new problem of macOS or anything else, I have installed Windows 10 on vmware fusion and tried to connect to citrix receiver and it worked only! without any operation of additional troubleshooting, it is confirmed that the issue is again macOS.

So as a temporary workaround, you can use virtual windows OS on top of the operating system Mac OS page sierra to launch citrix applications.

But apple needs to fix in the Sierra.

This seems to be, in part, a browser problem.

Have you tried, since El Capitan or Sierra, another browser?

And it would move from Citrix to make their applications compatible with OSX.

  • Upgrade of the Sierra: where are my pictures!

Well, I see that a lot of people have this problem but have yet to find an answer to the problem anywhere.  My patience is lost, I despise the fact that I have * money on shit Apple but I need to find my photos.  Stupidly, I'm fallen for Apple BS again and "upgraded" in the Sierra.  Now all my photos and the Organization, that I spent a year are no longer accessible by something else as well as the new 'Photos '.  I never had iPhoto first, never used.  Each thread simple discussion I can find guard speaks of iPhoto and animated for the Photos news images.  I can see the picture files, but all my organization has disappeared; and I can't access my photos of any other application EXCEPT Photos!  If I could find an Apple exec I would slam their face until they cried!

Someone has a REAL solution to get my photos and the Organization in the way it was before this stupid OS Sierra update?

    < re-titled by host >

I think you should be able to find your photos here ~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary.

Presumably, you could also restore your library and its organization of your backup so that you can continue to use any photo library program you usually use.

  • Is anyone of another search slow mail after the last update of El Capitan?

I think slower mail (more clearly than anything else) after the last El Capitan upgraded 10.11.4 - but I don't see any other chatter about this on the web. Anyone find this?

    No, not here.

  • Random OS freeze or crash after the Upgrade of the Sierra

Since the upgrade to Sierra, I started experiencing random freezes or crashes, the operating system.

In general, I keep the mouse control (connected via trackpad), for at least a certain period of time. However, only the movement is possible - applications cannot be selected, there is no reaction to the clicks, etc. Attempts to pass via cmd + tab don't produce no result.

I tried waiting for the system to respond. She finally slept, then crashed with a wake on the lack of sleep.

The other answer is a hard reset by holding down the power until button a restart is forced.

I ran disk in rescue mode utility, and he reported no problems with the disk. I've yet to try some of the more esoteric answers as reset NVRAM and so on... which is probably intended. I saw a report that said this problem was happening with El Capitan, and there is no resolution. I don't know if it's the same problem carried over, or a new.

I got exactly the same problem you describe, on an iMac of retina of 2014. I've updated all non - App Store applications I have thought (and removed dozens of them), disabled launch points, unplugged my USB hub, downloaded EtreCheck (very useful application, incidentally) and road to combing through reports in the Library/Logs folder. On a Reddit thread on the problems with the Macs wake from sleep after installation of Sierra, someone suggested using the following command in a Terminal: kextstat | grep - v com.apple

The command shows you what non-Apple kernel extensions are running in the background. Extensions of core apps such as Airparrot, strap, and duo caused problems with macOS Sierra. In my case, officer was running a kernel extension - then I deleted this app and went through my library/LaunchAgents and records of the library/LaunchDaemon, remove all items launch left by home and others deleted apps.

EtreCheck reports said that so-called SIMBL caused several accidents. So I got rid of this, by following the instructions on the site SIMBL.

Here's the problem: even after all these efforts (and each variant reset, I could think of) troubleshooting, nothing has changed. My Mac always has exactly the symptoms you describe, upon awakening from sleep. Every time.

In the end I just gave up and restored my iMac to its State, 4 days ago in a backup using Time Machine. (It took 12 hours). With Dropbox, I didn't lose all of the work I've done in the meantime. So, I am now running a stable El Capitan, with an understanding to why people wait a few months before installing the latest OS updates.

Sorry I can't offer more useful troubleshooting options - but perhaps some things that did not help me could help you anyway? Thanks for posting: it seems that the Sierra has been a pretty smooth update for most people, so I guess we're just out of luck?
