  Try to remove the file search.json and a possible search.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder to reset the default search engines.

  I use Thunderbird for two accounts, personal and professional. I can delete to find personal Emails. I can delete folders and move folders and fine e-mails from the company to the personal. But I can't delete individual emails from my business account, with the delete, right click key, nothing. However, if I move from my business to my staff, they remove it.

  I have taken steps to troubleshooting (or not):
  -Restart the computer.
  -Desinstalle/reinstalle Thunderbird.
  -Restored to the previous version of Thunderbird.
  -Started without my extensions (just calendar).
  -Restored old backup.
  -Thing of deleting file (where you go to %AppData%, navigate to the Thunderbird folder and delete the file from the Recycle Bin).

  Interestingly, my computer let me to remove Trash and Trash.msf EXCEPT files in the folder for my business account. The .msf file he went without complaint, but the file kept Trash requesting permission from the admin and would not delete. (I'm the only account on my computer.)

  I deleted the company file entirely. Then deleted the Windows folder entirely as well as local. Then open Thunderbird and rebuilt from scratch account (after saving my emails to the personal account, of course). And I made sure to check "empty trash folder on exit" (which I had not seen before). Now, it behaves as usual.

  Weird. Again, I don't know what I did. But it worked.

  I can't move or delete e-mail messages is defective.  When I try to move them, I get the following error "the file '68631.emlx' could not be opened because there is no file".  This problem has been crossed to Apple 4 times, but no resolution engineering.  Inbox, feel, project all have defective messages in them.  The problem seemed to have started when I upgraded to El Capitan.  Any thoughts on how to get rid of faulty mail?

I did move by copying the profile folder of the PC on the Mac desktop, raise the profile of Mac beside him folder and dragging the PC Mail subfolder to the mail folder in the Mac profile. If I delete the mails in gmail now, I don't want have disappeared them from thunderbird. Basically, all the mails that I remove to the gmail trash and is it shouldn't be deleted from thunderbird.   Not so long ago, I used a portable hard drive to pass data between my PC and my MacBook (Running OS X 10.11.1).)

  Unfortunately, I was stupid to create an alias of my portable hard drive on the desktop of my Mac by chance, just after my hard drive mounting.

  The issue is that I can't even delete/rename/move it. Restart the system does not work, and commands (sudo rm/mv...) since the Terminal does not work either.

  I think remember that there was once a way to have the Mail delete my mails from the server (in this case, Roadrunner) when an email has been downloaded to my computer.  Cannot figure out how to do it now and my account fills to capacity every day.  Is it possible to do with El Capitan?

  I don't know if it's always, but roadrunner allows to be POP.

  POP accounts delete e-mail server when downloaded by the mail client.  The option to keep on the mail server was introduced later.

  With IMAP, the app accounts Mail is designed to reflect what is on the mail server.
