Slow WiFi on MacBook Air
I tried searching but preliminary questions are old or unanswered. My MacBook Air El Capitan 10.11.5 is extremely slow on my wifi, with loading sites slowly or not at all. My Dell laptop 3 + year, sitting right next to the Mac quickly navigates the wifi even.
I don't know what changes I can make network preferences (via DHCP, automatically configure the MAC address, etc.) Any suggestions?

Backups Time Machine very slow on 2015 MacBook Air
Associated with a topic of discussion between a few days ago (two MacBooks, 10.11.4, a fast Time Machine backup and a very slow), I start a new topic with new information that seem to show it is a problem more general and not related to Time Machine networks.
Here's the situation:
- A 2015 MacBook Air, 10.11.4, 8 GB / 512 GB, has extremely slow performance of backup Time Machine, taking 40 hours for the first 300 GB backup and incremental backups for a long time as well
- TM performance is essentially the same whether on the network (wired Ethernet) or a USB3 external disk
- When you back up to disk USB3, I confirmed that the information system shows that the port is configured as USB3, not USB2 (nothing else is plugged into the USB port)
- Tests of bandwidth I/O gross (using dd and iperf) show no problem; the network reached 110 MB/s bandwidth, written network managed at 50 Mbps, external USB3 HD written work at 40-50 MB/s (write hard drive speed limit)
- 3 other Macs of various ages from 2009-2014 on the same network have no problem at all do backups Time Machine Network; a backup complete first on a 2011 MacBook Pro 500 GB takes 5 hours or more than 10 x faster than the MBA problem
- Time machine network uses a Linux server running the latest Debian and Netatalk 3.1.8 and the connection is via a USB3/Gigabit adapter, no WiFi, and iperf tests with this arrangement shows 900 MB/s of throughput of the server. In all cases, the Time Machine and external time Machine Network USB HD have the same symptoms.
- The problem with MacBook Air is configured the same as the MacBook Pro 2011, which she replaced "daily driver", possible
- This problem was shown by the MBA since his unboxing conversion, taking 20 hours for his first backup once Setup initially. Incremental backups now take several hours, leading to interrupted incremental backups and, I believe, databases corrupted backup triggers new full backups that take today the 40 hours.
Using Terminal Server and iostat, Console, etc, I see that there is significant activity e/s for the backup drive on the order of 20 to 40 MB/s for long periods on the MBA during the TM backup, but during that time the average declared backup size as shown in the window in the console and TM is growing by only 5 GB/hour. This occur even if the backup will the external drive or a network drive. This seems to mean that the I/O bandwidth to and from the disk hard external, only 1/600 contributes to the progress of the backup. I am sure that there is overload of certain checks and other tasks, but not to a 600-to-1 ratio.
I tried to disable the limitation of the I/O of low priority as shown here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/212537/time-machine-ridiculously-slow-a close-el-capitan-upgrade, that helps a bit (maybe 20-30%), but not by a factor of 10 for others.
I have gone through a number of the Time Machine of Pondini troubleshooting steps, but he found nothing corresponding to these symptoms.
The only thing I can conclude is that Time Machine, the application or configuration, on this specific MBA, is down. (A single thought that I wrote this to the top that I have not tried: the MBA and the time MBP running VMware Fusion and have a file of 50 + GB VM; on the MBA that is not excluded from TM backups while on the MBP is)
Does anyone have advice on what to watch next? In all cases, only one key would be why it seems that only 0.16% of all the bandwidth I/O to the backup drive seems to be actual data backup.
Once again, three other Macs, all running the same 10.11.4, back to the Time Machine Server perfectly and have for years. Only this new MBA glue as broken out, either to a network drive or an external hard drive USB3.
(A single thought that I wrote this to the top that I have not tried: the MBA and the time MBP running VMware Fusion and have a file of 50 + GB VM; on the MBA that is not excluded from TM backups while on the MBP is)

4 GB is kind of low for El Capitan, but you have one of the newer models, (wonderful) Mac which can not be updated if you get stuck here. Do not ask too much of it.
Your reading reports that you use some obsolete additions. Any software that is marked in red in your report see if you can do something. Update or decide it you really need.

MacBook Air Mid 2011 Wifi only next to the Airport Express
Hey everybody!
These days I have trouble with one of my MacBook Air. I plug a new as my girlfriend needs a job.
Anyway. I have updated to OS X El Capitan and struggle with the wifi. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar closest to you to solve the problems in the system.
As I had to download the OS X on my Mac Pro, I had a problem with the wifi these permissions switch and system information. If you scroll to the installation, there should be a list of installed software. In my case nothing.
After that the genius of Apple erased the disk and started the installation via ethernet with an Apple Server, I got a new version of OS X El Capitan on it. Everything appears fine (system information).
The Wifi worked perfectly in the store.
So, I got not any chance to try at home immediately. Today, I wanted to put the macbook for other facilities. I noticed that the wifi is extremely slow.
I deleted the cache (which does not yet exist). I have reset the starting power setting. I have reset my Airport express from Apple. I changed the DNS to google DNS (8.8.8.8./8.8.4.4.). I too turned off bluetooth.
All without any modification.
BUT if I'm right in front of the apple express (literally sitting on the router), the wifi works without any problem.
Please, I beg you! I have no idea what to do next. My other Mac Air and pro work perfectly. Any distance. (They have been disabled for testing). iPhone, iPad and Apple TV work fine.
I seem to have this problem with my MacBook, a model of early 2015. What I was told is that the Wi - Fi antenna is nested in the compartment of the screen, located on the edge, practising thus pressure deforms it. Because the body is made of aluminum, the body involuntarily also acts as an antenna, interfere with the Wi - Fi signal. Here are the two plausible reasons why sometimes the signal is lost or slows down, and it made perfect sense to me.
Maybe it's the issue here. If that's the case then I would attribute that to the misconception. I'm sure you can get it fixed, although I don't know how you would seeing that Apple seems to weld their new machines stop.

My IOS devices will not synchronize wifi with my MacBook air
My devices will be simply not sync over wifi with my Macbook air. The message that appears on iPad, iPhone etc. is that they will be synchronized if the Mac is connected. I tried, but it did not work.

My MacBook Air has recently become extremely slow with text behind my typing, windows taking ages to open and freezing programs regularly. It seems even affect my internet speed but I don't know if it's possible? Chrome now takes some time to load the sites, and even Google takes a little longer to suggest research or results.
The mac is old enough (2010 with a new logic board and the screen in 2011) and the battery life is quite short, but I need it to last about 10 months. It's slow when I use it without the charger and slower when its battery is low: it is more likely to operate normally when charging but still more often sluggish. Last week, the disk was almost full, so I deleted about 25 GB of files. I'm now 27GB to 120 GB free and he seems not to have made a difference in the speed of market - I intend to have a more thorough sort on my files in a few weeks but it is frustratingly slow at times, the prospect of a day which is not a good time!
I've tempted by the promises made CleanMyMac but was dissuaded by some threads here - someone has any suggestions, please?

It would be easier solve problems for you if you have downloaded and run Etrecheckthen copy and pasted the results in your response here.

Thought I would get outside help. Recently, my Macbook Air has taken a long time to load things. Loading pages in Google Chrome sometimes takes awhile, and other applications may be slower. The beach ball has been appearing more frequently. I used Etrecheck to see if you can help me. Let me know if I need to provide more information. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. I also uninstalled Adobe Reader as I recently installed. I've just updated for the last OS system as well.

Description:
For the most part, Google Chrome is slower. I saw a few other applications being flower as well. Quite often I get the beachball. I uninstalled Google Chrome and reinstalled. I also uninstalled Adobe Reader as I downloaded it recently, and I thought it might be the culprit.

I upgraded 10.11.4 on my Macbook Air a couple of days. It is a model of 2013 Mid, 1.7 Ghz Core i7, 8 GB of RAM.

Whenever I'm on Facebook or Tumblr, my MacBook freezes and runs hot and slow, eventually freezing. He also began to overheat, with maximum speed cooling fan and battery drainage. What browser do you use? I had some problems of my own with Tumblr, Google Chrome, and power draining eventually led me to dump Chrome when I realized it was hogging all my resources. I recommend also to configure tumblr to show you your dashboard in the pages of 10 to 15 positions rather than scroll without end - in this way, he does try to keep everything loaded at the same time.

Why my Macbook Air poster as a bridge to my Wifi network?
We fight network gremlins in our small office. We have an unnecessarily complicated network topology, but I don't think that the 'complexity' network is the fundamental issue (guess total). Here's the situation.
Periodically, we have network problems that range from individual devices or IP phones, problems at the Internet, across the Office of failures. The Internet seems to be stable during the network problems and is also big enough to handle the traffic. There seems to be no problem with the Internet itself - FYI... We have a mix of Mac and PC, printers, file server and IP phones using the network. The network is a mix of wifi devices connected and wired devices (PC/Mac wifi wired connected...printers/phones in General).
The network itself is as follows:
AirOS WAP which does not respect NOT IPs, just toward the life of a HP switch, which in turn is connected to a D-Link router that handles DHCP. D - Link is then connected to our Internet modem. The AirOS WAP is used because it is the signal strength and performance are supposed to be better than the performance of the D-Link wifi. Note: The wifi radio is turned OFF on the D-Link. All attached devices appear in the ARP table on the device from D-Link (as expected).
But and I finally get to my question on the AirOS my MacBook Air (El Capitan) is displayed in the ARP table under a bridge. It is the only device that appears in the ARP table besides than the D-Link (showing also as a bridge - what is planned). In other words, my Mac "is differently from any other device in the office, we want to eliminate as a potential problem."
Any who have thoughts on why my Mac is illustrated as a bridge. I checked my network settings and nothing seems out of the ordinary on my laptop. (only the bridge I find together are thunderbolt - that is NOT connected)
I'm sure that someone has an idea or two on why my device showing as a gateway into our network, and if this could be a problem.

After the Ubiquiti AirOS AP firmware up-to-date have been upgraded - if it is not already there - you have Ubiquiti why their software of AirOS reports what is shown. If one of the servers in use is accessible from the outside, we can a required more complex network configuration if you want to isolate the damage caused by a failure of the server.
Wi - Fi can have serious interference problems in some areas. Interference can wreak havoc with the connections Wi - Fi and AP, that can walls and anything that can block signals.

For iMac and Macbook air wifi Extender
I have a desktop computer of iMac 21.5 2010 that has a wifi router internal so that I can connect to my ISP of my 2011 Macbook Air 11 '' in the bathroom, just downstairs, and another room in almost 20 m further down.
