• Slow down the loading Y510p

  I was wondering what was the average time for a y510p totally dead to charge everything using it to light internet browsing. It seems to load really slow, especially after reaching about 80 percent or more. I was curious to see what other owners have had in terms of charge time. I think have reduced about 5% every 10 minutes so my cousins HP loads way faster. Not too upset about this, but a little curious. For example I'm typing this out, it was 99% for the last 20 minutes or so and HW monitor shows it loads very slowly, but when its establishment as 50 percent it charges to perhaps a rate decent mwh about 10 every 5 seconds.

  Full my load time for my Y510P usually is 2 hours, when he almost died. I don't usually leave my laptop to discharge fully or completely reload it because it helps to extend the life of your laptop battery.

  I have an internet connection 30Mbps for awhile now, I get less than 1 while trying to use the Wifi on my Y510p. As soon as I plug in an ethernet cable the problem disappears. It also doesn't matter how far I am our router its always the same. Any help or advice?

• Replace hard drive SSD in IdeaPad y510p

  Hi all

  I've had the IdeaPad y510p for a while now. This is the model with dual graphics, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB HDD + 24GB SSD combo. (If you need me to be more precise, let me know). The 5400 hard drive RPM was slow this machine and I recently bought a 512 GB SSDS.

  Is this compatible with the laptop? Of my little knowledge of hard drives, I assumed it was and picked it up.

  Also, how I go on my PC cloning so that everything can be copied on the SSD drive, including start-up and all files and recovery partitions.

  And one last thing. Is the separate 24 GB SSD or the part the 1 TB HARD drive... in other words, can I keep the secondary, more small SSD in as well?

• Y510p does not properly

  So I had this problem with my Y510p slow randomly / freezing. There is no specific program or operations to do it on. It will be sometimes frozen immediately after that I connect and after 5-10 minutes I have to force a stop down. Also about 80% of the time I turn off my laptop it take 5 minutes to 5 hours to extinguish. And no it is not up-to-date, it just display the closing with the balls to do the loop.

  What I tried to ask you. I did OKR twice, the problem occurs with Windows 8 and the 8.1 update. I removed a lot of the bloatware. I disabled the fast storage to intel. I increased the pagefile, I noticed a very slight decline in frequency of things are slowing down and freezing when I put the pagefile on SSD. I've done a few "power fulshes"; Take out the battery, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, plug the charger, switch on laptop, then reinsert the battery once completed upward. I tried to do the "sfc/scannow" command in the command prompt, yes I opened it as administrator. "Tried" I want to say I typed in it and he said that Windows didn't start the program.

  I was looking for a solution for a while. I know I've tried other things but I do not remember all. If anyone has any ideas I'm game.

  Have you tried to disable expresscache in addition to fast storage? I had the same problems you did, constantly freezing, slow startup upwards and close (hours sometimes, like you have), basically completely unusable. Disabling these two things has removed all the questions I had. Only problem is the SSDS works more like a cache, which is what we paid, so it is not really a 'solution', but hey oh, worked for me.

  -Very well, so in early January of this year I had a Y510P. I bought this cause I already knew that I would be transitioning to different places and that a desktop computer would not be practical. I intend to work with on the school, watch game, movies etc. All this went perfectly well

The few times where I use it for things like watch a movie or play a game of little were very good. Anyway, when I came home to the Netherlands, I noticed he had considerably slowed down.   About 2 weeks ago, I bought a Lenovo ideapad y510p laptop with graphics 750 m SLI. The first thing I did was to remove the excess of bloatware that comes with the laptop and have had a very positive experience with the machine together.

  Recently, I noticed if I let my laptop idle, he spends in sleep mode pretty quickly. I tried to adjust the Power Options in the control panel to allow the computer to stay awake for as long as an hour plugged and 15 minutes on the battery, but the laptop still go to sleep after having been slowed for only 60 seconds.   Apparently my problem disappeared!

  It is dificult for me indicate exactly what measures or combination of steps worked for me, but after selecting the option 'balanced' in the power settings and adjust that power to my taste options, my cell phone is always placed in standby mode after one minute ("sleep" mode had been established at 30 minutes). I have re-uploaded Lenovos "Energy management" utility and set the settings to my liking and also installed a windows update. After a system reset, it seems that I have total control over my settings of power once more!

  I don't know if the solution lies in the update of windows, the system restarts or management utility power, but one or more of the following has solved my problem. I hope someone out there finds this helpful thread!

• Crashing apps and the slow performance since the installation of macOS Sierra

  Hello

  Im a user of long date Mac but displays the first time that I was pretty happy with everything that on my macbook pro for the past years... until I installed Sierra a day ago.

I'm kinda not clear about the exact nature of the slowness you describe (what specific aspects are slow, what is compatible or intermittent, etc.), but if it's pretty repetitive, you can try to stop all currently open applications, restart your iPad, then test for the slow pace.   Hello, have you tried to reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support?

• Slow movement of the icons of file

  I just upgraded to Sierra and discovered that move file icons became very slow. Whether on the desktop or in a window, I can choose an icon of file instantly, but if I try to move, even a small distance, there is a long pause, and I often get the beach ball, until the icon jumps in position. In this case if I move the couple icon of millimeters right through the window.

  The same thing happens if I move a file between windows. There is a long delay, then a 'Preparing [location] move' dialog box is displayed with a process bar. Another long pause, then a quick movement of the bar and the icon jumps to the new location. Even with a copy operation. Moving to and from the trash by clicking and dragging is also slow. File used for the test was 8 k on disk, 699 bytes of content, is not large files. Movement of file in the trash by command + delete soon also. Open the file information dialog box has been the normal speed.

  I also started having very slow save as... dialog box speeds, slow opening and then slow to fill. The beach ball appeared regularly.

  Any ideas?

  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple.  I see your message that you met some slowness during the management of files on your MacBook Pro, since you upgraded to macOS Sierra.  I know that personally, I want to be able to move, copy, and back up things quickly, without a lot of spinning Rainbow cursor to run, so I can see why you've posted.  I'd be happy to help you.

  When my MacBook behaving this way, I found a System Management Controller (SMC) reset helped.  If you are not familiar with how to do this reset, see the following link:
  Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

  If you always see the same behavior after this reset, then start in safe mode can tell you if a program or process could be the cause of the delay.  Follow the instructions here and test your functions copy/move while that started in safe mode: macOS Sierra: start in safe mode

  If your MacBook Pro works fine in safe mode, reboot normally and check to see if the problem has been resolved.

• very slow Powerbook fine, iMacs

  My family uses 2 iMacs (1 2013, 1 earlier) and an Apple Powerbook at home. 2 iMac is incredibly slow, but the speed of the Powerbook is fine. IMacs both have a lot of unused storage and memory and I completely restored two iMacs and deleted unnecessary files, but they are very slow. I have everything back up on Dropbox and wonder now if the slowness is something to do with the combination of the signal at high speed and by using several connections of Dropbox in the House.  We have a Virgin Media Hub Super 2ac with advertised broadband router of up to 150 Mbps. I made a speed control using www.speedtest.com and the download speed is 105.81 Mbps and download speed is 9.70 Mbps. Any ideas anyone?

• "Workflow" for Slow Motion DSLR

  Hi, I've been experimenting with the creation of idle smoothly in a calendar of 1080/25 and questioned on the best workflow. (I used a Canon 70 d, stipulating that 50 frames per second at 720)

  So: Chronology 1080/25 Pro Res FCP7 (majority of the 1080/25 source footage)

  I want to add a short section of idle and for that I shot in 720/50 - but of course it is made at 25 frames per second when added to the timeline and playback is stuttering when 50% of the speed value.

  So I sent the clip (at 50%) to 4 Motion and applied optical flow - this provided a smoother playback

  (I tried to optical flow on a clip of 1080/25 to 50% but reading stuttered slightly)

  I just wanted to confirm if it is the best workflow for idling smoothly.  Also when I tried to apply the optic flow on a second Motion 4 already 'optic flow"selected clip, but when I clicked on that nothing happened - I had to close out Motion and start over with the clip under a new name.
