Slui.exe access denied

I can't activate my Windows 7 Home Premium installation because of this error. I read has several threads here and I tried but found something that worked so now I write.

I already ran sfc/scannow twice in a cmd prompt high and it reported no errors.

Here's my dump of MsDiag:

Thanks for your help.

I already know I need a license. That's my next step, but I thought that I needed to correct the SLUI error to use the license and activate it. Then I can get the updates of Windows working again, which is the point.

Can you confirm the following:

1. I don't have to fix SLUI but can by other means displayed above for sure.

2. I can buy a Win7 disc/license and apply it to my current installation

3. I need not to reinstall windows to accomplish the foregoing.

4. If so, what exactly I have to buy my whole upward. I get confused on the OEM, retailers, how to upgrade when I go to Google Shopping and are looking for the best offers. For example, will it work?

I checked my system and performed the following tasks to try to resolve the problem:
My version of Windows is up-to-date. I have no problem hardware or exceptional driver. I tried to temporarily disable my antivirus to complete the installation, this does not solve the problem. I tried to install it as a system administrator. I searched the site of Valve/steam software for a solution, none were found (http://store.steampowered.com/). I searched the database of Microsoft for a solution, none were found. I'm having no problem with other games or applications that were loaded on that computer. The problem is only with the application steam.exe and any game that requires the application of steam to the function.
    I came across the following link which has promised to solve the problem;
    http://www.bing.com/search?mkt=en-us&q=steam%20error%20Win32%20error%205
    https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5322-QYZB-5344
I followed the instructions at three times, all with the same error message.
The default program is responsible for the following: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Steam.
I tried to load the program on different hard disks and got the same error code.
I have triple checked all user profiles to make sure that the appropriate privileges have been set (Admin). I checked all the steam program elements to ensure that they have been set to run as a program director executed. I double checked that proper TCP/UDP ports are open for the application of the steam function. http://www.resoo.org/docs/Counterstrike/steam_ports.html
Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Platinum,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Vista Community Forums.

This error is primarily caused by a lack of permissions for the user, having the Steam.exe file attributes set to 'Read only', or by another program interferes with the installation of Steam process (if the steam client application has been updated to a version that was not included in your package of Steam, Steam will download a new copy of itself and then delete the old file Steam.exe except when another program interferes).

    1. check your Windows user permissions.
Please ensure that you are logged on as administrator on the computer that you use to install Steam.
    2. check the file attributes
    3. right click on the file Steam.exe, which was created after running the Steam Installer, and then select Properties
4 uncheck the read-only box if it is checked and hit apply before closing the window
    5. try running the Steam.exe file once more
    6. check the settings of your security software

If you are running an antivirus, firewall or any product safety program that may interfere with the removal and replacement of the file Steam.exe (some security software will check information of a file whenever it is changed and block the automatic replacement of files) Please check your settings for the program and ensure that you are prompted to authorize activities that may trigger the security software.

Remove spyware, Adware and virus software and try to run the installation again.

In addition to the steps above, follow these steps:
    1. go in C:/Program Files/Steam /.
    2. right click on Steam.exe and go to properties.
    3. click on the Compatibility tab.
    4. check run as administrator and click OK.
    5. then I deleted StemeTemp (or something like that. the steam icon).
    6. then run Steme.exe again.

    It will be useful.

    Hello

If it is necessary to download the programs below on another computer and transfer it to this one
on removable media (such as CD, DVD or USB drives). Rename the .exe programs to
such as MBAM.exe to XXSCAN.COM .com - rename when analysis completed.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be harder to detect as
    the cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

It can be done in Safe Mode - repeatedly, press F8 as you start however, you should also
Run them in regular Windows when you can.

  • NTOSKRNL. EXE missing - access denied whiletrying to copy CDs

    Hi all

    I use Win XP Sp3.

When I tried to start, I got the following error "missing NTOSKRNL.exe.

I used the win XP CD to start in Restore Mode.

Go to the command prompt after you enter the credentials & entered copy d:\i386\ntoskrnl.exe c:\windows\system32\*.*

By entering in this I get the error "access denied."

Somone kindly indicate how to copy the file ntoskrl.exe missing in the c:\windows\system32 folder

    Kind regards

    Thaddeus Fernandes

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

Try again with the full path instead of jokers:

    copy d:\i386\ntoskrnl.exe c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

I think you might need to expand the file instead of copy:

    For single-processor systems:
    Expand D:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

    For multiprocessor systems:
    Expand D:\i386\ntkrnlmp.ex_ C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

Note that it is often a problem with the boot.ini file, and not a ntoskrnl missing actually.  See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314477

Without apparent reason, after being on for awhile, my version of windows need to be reactivated. However, whenever he tries to activate the following error message appears

"A problem occurred when windows tried to activate. Error code 0x80070005. »

    Error details

"the following information was found for this error:

    Code:

    0x80070005

    Description:

    Access is denied. "

I talked to chat support and we were talking about a phone number. However, it is paid for the number. I don't want to call this number that I already paid a significant sum to get a license for windows. I don't think I would have to pay again to correct a mistake that was created by windows itself. I have no fixed, so I can't afford to call a number of high cost, hold it for 10 minutes and try and explain my situation to someone who is unable to understand me.

  • RE: Installed detachment "access denied." I have the same problem and none of the above worked. The property is empty, but demand will not accept me.

RE: "access denied" following the installation of Firefox question. I have the same problem. Details below: I tried opening in Mode safe that has not worked. I have administrative access. When I click on the general tab in properties, I get a message that there is no such thing as "firefox.exe". This file, or any other type 'install' file appears in the directory Mozilla Firefox with the exception of 'uninstall '. I downloaded and tried to install seven times from six different sources, including Mozilla, all with the same results. I also tried a number of solutions on the web for this error without great success. I tried, first of all, to make an upgrade, then remove the old version of Firefox and have been 'install' since then. Avast, Malwarebytes and Threatfire found no malware.

I've never had a similar problem with Firefox before and I used it for years. Anyone has any ideas that I have not already tried? I'm tired of using Internet Explorer! RE: Troubleshooting below - information Windown will not open the downloaded file.

  • Delete the file - access denied

I downloaded a bios update file and saved to a folder on my desktop.  It's for another computer.  When I try to delete it now, it says "access denied."  The name of the file is sp24786.exe.  This is a utility to create a disk to update the bios for an Armada 1750.  My laptop is a DV5140US.  Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Ron2

You probably accidentally "run" the file, and there is a window somewhere waiting for you to click 'OK' or something, when an exe is runing, windows do not allow you to delete it. But it should allow you to remove it if it is not not runing.

  • Silverlight has install "Access denied" even with Admin rights

My stream of cable asked than to uninstall and reinstall silverlight. So I uninstalled and now whenever I try to extract the downloaded .exe file to silverlight, I get a prompt message 'Access denied'. I have administrator rights and can not extract when I "run as administrator". I recently installed McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, so I don't know if this is what's blocking me. I turn off the analysis of access on, and I still get "Access denied" - help?

NB: If you had no installed anti-virus application or subscription has expired * when the machine was first infected * and/or your subscription has expired since and/or machine is not been kept fully patched in Windows Update constantly, don't waste your time with any of the following: Format & reinstall Windows.  A repair install won't help!
