  Other devices - SM Bus controller driver is not loaded and does not load when "update driver software" is requested. I tried to 'turn off' and restarted the system – still no driver.

  I read something on identify the chipset and get the driver from the manufacturer-, but the instructions indicated to me the 'display' (Intel HD Graphics r) chipset, and comes under the graphics card in the Device Manager, as well as graphics Radeon (TM) HD 6770 M card.  Both have working drivers.

  I'm NOT a person tech in every sense of the word - I understand little or nothing of the workings and the interactions of these different elements.

  I looked online inside the laptop for the drivers for SM Bus controller.

  I can't find any help with everything I read, like say more just go and "update your driver.

  Can someone help me?

  I zipped and tied the smbus controller driver you need below.

  Download and uncompress the file in its folder.

  Don't do anything with the files in the folder.

  Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus who need the pilot.

  Click the driver tab.

  Click on set to update driver.

  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

  Restart the PC.

  We have gradually been put back together, reload its data, re-installing of ZoneAlarm and AVG, Picassa & Office 365. Yesterday I went to re - install printer drivers, but before doing so checked Device Manager to see that the error "SM BUS controller driver is missing" was. Grrrrr...

  I tried to use system restore to return point of restoration of a restore point but that too now fails every time with error (0x80070005).

  Before we go again nuclear, anyone has any ideas please...?

  I had to downgrade laptop computer CQ58 a 64 Windows 8 for Windows 7 64 client on their request. The process went very well and I managed to find all the drivers required - except one, the SM Bus controller driver, which I will have supply problems. I think that this is part of the AMD Catalyst package and I downloaded and installed the recommended package of AMD of automatic detection and this has not solved the problem. I also tried a slightly earlier version of these drivers, and it also left me with the same problem. Has anyone else faced the question and it is resolved successfully?   Thank you for posting material ID for the network controller, so I know what model wireless card it is and then I'll post the link for the driver, you need to.

  To find the hardware ID, go to the Device Manager and click on the network controller who need the driver.

  Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window network controller.

  Now you will see a drop-down list of property and it will be set to the Description of the unit.

  On this list and select the 2nd (Hardware ID).
