Smart collections missing items

It spoke of the General discussion of the PS Re: bridge CC of smart collections missing

I use Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) with PS/bridge CC. The fundamental problem is that, when I deleted my cache all the elements in smart collections 6 disappeared.

> I'm willing to spend the time and effort to go back in each folder and add new keywords or sides or something, but not if I can't be comfortable that it won't happen. >

No, you really shouldn't have to do. The keywords of your choice are part of the metadata for each file. You already said as well that your files are intact, as it should, so there is no reason to add more keywords or ratings or whatever it is, because the bridge will search the metadata. He doesn't worry when it was added, so being new will not help.

Something seems to be corrupted. That bridge could not find a single keyword, that you know is in the metadata says that something is wrong, probably with bridge itself. Have you tried to bridge by pressing Cmd-Opt-Shift while clicking on the launch icon? Then reset the preferences? That could clear up this very strange behavior. Obviously, something went very wrong with the purge. Usually, I find just that it doesn't work, often freezes Bridge and I wrap manually delete the files cached, but I've never had it do nothing my smart Collections. However, if it damaged something along the way, which can only have done so.

If this does not work, we can talk if you want to try to uninstall/reinstall the deck or if you just want this degrades to staff, if no one else jumps quickly here in the answer to this mystery.

  • Lost smart collections

    I tried to export a collection of photos on my desktop on an iMac. He said the successful exportwas so I closed the program.  The photos were not on the desktop and when I went back in lightroom that all my 'smart' collections have disappeared except for one.  It has happened, but they reappear magically at the end of 5 minutes.  This time, they have not... any suggestions!

    In Lightroom (not your operating system), browse to the file-> open the new item and select each catalog here until you find the one with smart collections.

  • Create smart collections by using the import Smart Collection settings

    Anyone know if I can create smart collections by using Import Smart collection settings? Where can I find any information on this other than collections of photos? In particular, I am interested in what to do with the code.

    I think I got it. If you put the text below into a file extension .lrsmcol and call 01_Jan. You can do a right click any where on the Collection Panel, choose Import Smart Collection settings and it will create a collection called 201401 - Jan will all images published here this month. It is a simplified version of a smart collection for a workflow. If you have 12 files, one for each month, you can select in the dialog box, and it will create 12 collections.

    s = {

    ID = ""

    internalName = "201401 - Jan."

    title = "201401 - Jan."

    Type = "LibrarySmartCollection"

    value = {}

    {

    criteria = "touchTime."

    operation = "en"

    value = "2014-01-01,.

    value2 = "2014-01-31."

    },

    combine = "cross"

    },

    version = 0,

    }

    A minor warning, Text Edit on my Mac replaced the quotes with double quotes. LR would fail to import missing files of the quotes or double quotes (I guess malformed) with like this without raising any errors. I had to disable the quotes in Text Edit.

  • Can LR5 always create a Smart Collection or published a smart folder based on keywords?

    I have a smart Collection based on keywords imported LR4, but when you create a new Smart Collection or a published smart folder, the choice of "Key words" is missing from the context menu rules!

    Is this a bug?

    I am trying to create a smart folder that is published, but this question caught me.

    I think you can still do. If I correctly get what you're after: begin the process of creating the smart collection and when you see the settings dropdown to choose to create your collection, do scroll down to "Other metadata" click on it and you will see "Key words" it. I hope this helps

  • Smart collection returns different results to the library filter?

    This is such a stupid thing, and I barely noticed. I have smart collections simply gather all the images with a particular star of note, very very simple! I have a 1 star, a Star 2 and one for the 3 stars and more. So far so good, use these for centuries-, but I noticed that if I go to Catalog/All photos and place a filter of the same library (this is the filter at the top of the library grid view) I get different results. Actually if I place a filter attribute that says '= 2 stars' images only I can watch the tape that works at the bottom of the screen (sorry I have no idea what it's called) and he said that "all photos / 1056 1647 photos» If I can clear this filter and scroll down to my smart collection that applies the filter even to the entire catalog (and I triple checked this, no difference at all, I don't have lower or higher than the here is the self same "=" only!) and it says "1066"! Thus, the smart collection search 10 images more than other, identical filters working on the entire catalog - I am confused? Anyone had this problem, I missed something? If it wasn't for the number of images concerned I'd them and try to find the additional files by hand!

    Popular indices, and LR3 passing on Mac.

    Tim.

    You can check if the images are stacked differently (and thus not counted) in both points of view.

  • Filter or Smart Collection by time Photo taken

    I had a good look for an answer to this, but not found anything. Unless I'm missing something obvious I think that there is no solution (yet).

    Is Lightroom 3.4, there a way to filter or set parameters for a smart collection, based on the time that a photo was taken?

    For example, if I want to see all my pictures taken between, say, 18:00 and 19:00.

    It would be for large groups of pictures, so sorting by capture time, and then selecting manually would be inappropriate. I am looking for an automated solution.

    Thanks for any help.

    Adrian

    I don't think there is a solution to this (I tried a text search, nothing done).

  • Filtering of learning: Smart Collections of shows not all filtered images

    I am a student with Classroom In A Book, so this test is small and only using the images bit supplied on the CD-ROM of the BWC.

    It is said in the book that a Smart Collection is a selection filtered according to the rules of what you specify.

    That's fine, but when I click on the arrow down on the left side of the screen to see the list of the Collections smart just some filtered images are presented. The images that I have marked in red are shown as a Smart Collection. Does not show the images that I marked with green (only one). A single image that I marked with five stars presents itself as a Collection of Smart, so it may be that you need more of a marked item before he presents himself as a Smart Collection. I made sure that I have highlighted the folder that contains the images (in local) and they are displayed in library Mode and grid mode.

    What could cause the some of the images that I applied to filter attributes to not appears in smart Collections?

    TIA,

    Ken

    Lightroom installs smart collections of 4 or 5 samples as part of the default installation.

  • "Birthdays" Smart Collection (based on day/month but NOT the year)

    Hello.

    I came across a problem when trying to make some organizes on my photos...

    Is it possible to create a Smart Collection with "Date is" + "in the range" then use day/month only and excludes the year?

    Or just a simple "Date is" + "date specific minimum year '.

    What I'm trying to do, is to create a smart album that has pictures of all my children on/autour. of their birthdays. The eldest is 14 years old and I have four children, manual adding of all dates and keep them up to date in a year is - while it is certainly doable - a little pain there.

    Is there a way to do this with Lightroom?

    The only way to create a smart collection for this is to manually add each year the criteria smart collection.

    A simpler way is to use the John R. Ellis AnyFilter plug-in.

  • Photoshop retouching in smart collections

    Hello

    Usually I edit my photos in a folder (in lightroom, of course), I thought I would create a smart collection first this time to sort the pictures a little better.

    I use Ctrl + E to edit a photo in Photoshop. I do my necessary edits, save and return to lightroom. But the picture in the smart collection is still the original. If I go into the folder where the pictures are, the Assembly is stacked with the original Photo. It has (because it seems to me) the same tags and markings of color as the original photo. I tried to change the order of the stack, but it's no help.

    I tried splitting the battery, but the smart collection only reacts to the evolution of the original photo.

    What happens here?

    If the new file IS NOT satisfied the criteria for the Smart Collection, it will not be displayed in the Smart Collection.  For example, if you have a Smart Collection that is "file type is RAW" and do a "Edit in Photoshop" a RAW Collection Smart the edited file is that NOT a RAW file so it will not be displayed in the Smart Collection.   What are your Smart Collection criteria.

  • Using Smart Gallery to reflect a Smart Collection?

    I would like to create a smart Gallery based on criteria (pick flag, label color, category) so that my best images will automatically enter in this collection "my best Images.

    I then create a smart Gallery in Zenfolio reflecting this collection?

    I tried to create a smart Gallery whose criteria is simply "Source contains all of the words"my best Images", but that doesn't seem to work. He produced images of 0.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    [See this post on the Web to see the embedded images.]

    Information on how to proceed are of-kind-of sort on help page, but it is not clearly presented. To create a smart post the collection in a Zenfolio service:

    1. at Zenfolio.com, in the Photos section, create a new empty gallery:

    2. right click on the Zenfolio service in Control Panel Services publish and select change settings.

    3. step off to the Zenfolio section: galleries to publish this Service.

    4. press the button to refresh the list. Then scroll down the list of galleries, find that you just create at Zenfolio.com and verify the chip:

    5. at the bottom of the Edit settings window, click Save.

    6. in the Zenfolio service in Control Panel Services to publish, with the right button of the new gallery and select Gallery Smart Edit to enter your smart collection criteria.

  • I'm totally confused about records, collections and smart collections.

    I am a complete newbie to Lr so please forgive what are fundamental questions without doubt!

    In records, I have 2 folders - Annecy and Aix which have different vacation photos.

    In Collections, under smart Collections, I have a folder named Aix which has my pictures of Aix and that is synchronized to Lr on my ipad.  However, although Annecy is listed under Collections, it is in a folder at the top of a new tree under smart Collections but does not part of smart Collections.  I hope that makes sense!  This issue of Annecy does contain pictures, and the only thing being synchronized on ipad is the name of the folder.  How can I copy photos from the folder in the folders in the Collections folder?

    I read that peaks must be in the Collections before they can be synchronized.  However, on the ipad there is that a folder named "Pictures Lightroom" it contains 242, the same as "all photographs synchronized" under the heading catalog when Lr appears on my desktop.  At present, I am initially upload my pictures in my office and then import to the RL.

    Finally, about mobile Lr in response to a previous johnreliis investigation informed that I must ensure that I am connected to creative cloud on the ipad before being able to view synchronized + photos on the ipad.  I downloaded Lr mobile on the Apple store and have nothing to CC on the ipad.  Now, I wonder if the reason that the pictures of Annecy are not displayed on the ipad is due to the fact that, at the present time, they are not in a Collection.

    Thanks in advance for all you can give me advice.

    Richard

    Just drag Annecy out of smart Collections and next to Aix.

    What is called "smart Collections" is actually a Collection Set - that is a container for other regular or silent collections (like your Aix) and smart collections which include images of criteria that you define. Notice how "Smart Collections of" has a different icon from the smart collections inside, looking more like a box. So what you could do then is to create a set of Collection called France and drag Annecy and Aix in it.

    To get the pictures in the Annecy collection, you can find them in your folders and drag the thumbnails in the grid and place in Annecy.

  • Bug in the smart Collections when change Date is today?

    2016-06-07 17_38_23-Edit Smart Collection.png

    I got home today, made changes to the three images, and then I wanted to collect these three in a smart collection. Much to my surprise, I found myself with 91 images in my Smart Collection. And I know that I have not touched Lightroom since Sunday (two days ago) because I was not home yesterday. I'm 100% sure that Auto Sync was not lit when I edited the three photos (and if it has been activated there will be an entry in the history panel, which there is not). Can anyone provide a possible explanation? Or do I have to report it as a bug?

    In addition, there is a place in the metadata Panel, indicating the date of the edition? I could not find.

    I am convinced that the only thing I did when I got home was actually to change 3 pictures. I change the metadata fields that I know, normally when I'm editing mode, I'm not back metadata to the metadata edition edition. The AnyFilter plugin is not installed. I doubt that other plugins were nothing, the only one that would be possibly enabled is exporting Jeffrey Friedl Lightroom plugin, and I understand he uploads from Flickr comments, unless make you it run using it to upload photos.
