Smart Filter "fusion".

If anyone can help me understand this, I would be very grateful.

If you put 2 or more intelligent filters on a single smart object layer, effects filters are "combined" in a way that makes sense.  So why if you have 2 smart object layers, each with a filter, there no way to 'mix' in the same way?  If Photoshop can mix the filters correctly when they are on the same layer, why is there not the possibility to do when they are on different layers?  Am I missing something obvious here?

BTW, I'm interested is because I would like to have individual masks for each smart filter.  I know that I can do the workaround nested object dynamic, but is rather a chore and uses a lot of memory.

Thank you!

I doubt it. When you use the layer level, all you have is the pixel values of the individual layers without a single layer, know each other. Filter chaining outside what smart objects offer would require a very different approach to this and then we are talking a workflow similar to applications based on compositing nodes, where each operation transformation is concatenated with the previous regarding the way in which the code is running under the hood. Not something that is going to happen any time soon in PS, I think.

  • Each smart filter separately on a single smart object masking

    1. is there a way to mask each smart filter separately on one single smart object... other than the nesting of a dynamic object in the other?

    2. is there a way to remove the dynamic object created previously?

I mean, let's say I have a dynamic object that contains four layers. Can I remove dynamic object of these layers?

    Thank you...

1 #, nesting is the only way.

    2. Yes. Open the smart object. Drag the layers in the original document. Now you can remove the layer containing the smart object.

  • Apply a smart filter layer mask information destroyed?

IV has applied a dynamic filter on a layer that I did a lot of work of masking on. By applying this smart filter that I lose all my information masking? Is it possible to apply the two effects on the same layer?

    Thanks for any help

If you have converted the layer with the layer mask to a CG so the filter will be applied on this as a whole, but the layer mask will still be in the SO.

If you want to keep the mask as a channel in the container document, for example, you can combine the layer, move the layer mask to the Group and convert the layer to a SO.

  • Resize the layer with smart filter without affecting the Smart Filter layer appearance

I made a wax seals on photoshop with lots of embossing, bevelment and a dynamic filter. It's done and I just need to make it smaller so it fits well on my certificate. When I resize (Ctr + T) it appears a messgae which reads:

    Adobe Photoshop CS6 extended

"The dynamic filters applied to the layers contained in this group will be disabled at the temprarily while conversion is in preview. They will be applied after commit the transformation. »

    Ok

I click OK and I resize the layer with free transform, and then press ENTER. The layer is resized, but my smart filter that cretaes affect a shower around the joint is completely distorted.

Right-click on the name of the layer to smart object in the layers panel to get the menu below. Choose "Convert to Smart Object" to encapsulate the er and its smart filter and Layer Styles within a new KIND that can be resized without appearance changes.

    Hi chaconb,

I open a raw image in Photoshop and converted into smart filters and now I can apply any adjustments to my end without any problem.

You may need to reset the Photoshop preferences to default (start the application all holding the key Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS).) Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?")

  • With the help of smart filter in ACR on 32-bit images

After combining the 3 images in HDR pro then opening in Photoshop using the dynamic filter of the CPR ACR, how can I keep the changes I made when I then flatten the image and convert to 16 bit?

I seem to loose all the changes I made and he brings just the HDR Pro options.

What is the point of being able to use the dynamic of ACR filter, if you then have to start again on a 16-bit version?

I usually save the 32-bit version before you flatten and convert to 16-bit. You can always revert to the original edits by opening the 32-bit file. But yes, of course, it is a two-step process.

When you're confronted with HDR dialog, once again, under the 'method', simply choose the exposure and Gamma. Then, you won't lose all your work on HDR on front.

  • Smart Mailbox sent

I made a box smart mailbox that shows all the mails that I sent to a particular group of people.  The smart filter works great and smart mailbox content is as expected.

However, I want to change is how the emails are listed in my smart mailbox sent.  If I click on my mailbox sent normal, in the next column, I show a list of all the mails that are sent and the 1st line of each entry is the name of the person to whom the mail was sent.  If I click on my smart mailbox sent, the 1st line of each entry (shown in the next column) is my name, that is to say the person who sent the mail, not the person to whom it was sent.  In short the smart mailbox is the mail view as if it was incoming, rather sent mail mail.

Is it possible to change the mode of display messages in a smart mailbox?

    Thanks for any help.

If you edit a post in a smart mailbox - such as marking the message as read or unread, move, or delete the message - the change is reflected in the mailbox where the message is stored.

  • Smart objects - copy without referencing the Original SO?

    A question from me

If I copy a raster layer several times for an animation to image, then it makes sense to do than the smart object layer.  What I do, but I'm missing something.  For example, there is a video going around on photo blogs today, a lady in charge by an elk, but missed the guy with the iPhone, so I quickly put together.

    Elk-Lady.gif

The video has been radically challenged in the Department of pixel, so I made the Lady layer one OC and formulated a number of copies.  Same thing with the Elk (from a different source), where I used Puppet Warp to simulate a bucking motion.  In both cases, Free transforming the PW YES, or using copied, caused the original SO layer to reflect the changes.  Not good at all. And it's something that's happened to me before.

Then a little later, Google I found this old threadand tried his advice to slide SO the layer to the new icon of layer instead of using Ctrl j.  But that's where it weird, because now I could use Ctrl j and PW as before and modify a copied SO layer without affecting the original.

Someone has a good understanding of why my SOs don't always work in the same way for me?  I guess I should man to the top and RTFM, but I was using what I thought exactly the same workflow in different documents and get different behavior.

Working with smart objects in Photoshop

I don't see this problem in PS CC 2015 (Mac) with copy/duplicate methods. Are you sure that you not open the parent (SO) and the transformation (Puppet Warp or free transform) running on the child (content)?

Application of puppets Warp to a smart object layer apply PW as a dynamic filter that is only attached to this layer (you will see in the layers), and if none of the other layers will be affected by PW. But if you run PW on duplicate content, clicking on a smart object to see the child record, then all layers will be affected.

Looks like you know what you're doing, but the PW behavior as a dynamic filter is specifically designed for the layer that the smart filter is applied.

  • Filter > render > clouds > Options window does not appear

I am tring to set my blending mode multiply however, every time I want to filter > render > clouds it applies just the filter without having to open the window options. How can I fix it? I am currently using photoshop CS6 extended.

There is a dark matter where you could get a control for the clouds filter dialog box.

If you have a smart object and then apply the filter clouds as a dynamic filter, you can access the Smart filter blending options by double-clicking small sliders icon to the right of the smart filter in the layers panel. This opens a dialog box where you can set the blending mode and opacity of the effect of dynamic filter.

  • Difference between convert it to a smart object and convert for smart filters?

    Hello

I'm curious to know is there is a difference between the right clicking on a layer and convert it to a smart object vs going to the menu Filter and choose Convert for smart filters?

I don't think that there is a difference.  When you use a filter on a smart object to a smart filter layer.  The layer must be a dynamic object for a smart filter layer filter it is a catch 22.

  • Oil paint filter grayed out after updating Photoshop CC2015.1

I opened raw and tiff and jpg files. I duplicated the background layer. Tried two 8 and 16 bits. I converted to smart filter. The oil paint filter is always grey. Am I missing something?

    Thank you

Yes, looks like this card supports up to OpenCL 1.0 according to "clgpu [0]." CLDeviceVersion = "CUDA 1.0" "in the system information.

You will need a graphics card and a driver graphics card which supports OpenCL 1.1. https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop/KB/Photoshop-CC-GPU-card-FAQ.html#topic-3

  • Smart objects mask layer

I converted the background image to a smart object, the sharpness filter applied, and then clicked on the smart object layer mask.  It is supposed to be filled with black and painted white so the smart filtering turns.  However, the layer mask is white, not black!  How can I get the fill either black and non-white.  Thank you.

When you add a layer mask by clicking on the layer mask icon at the bottom of the palette add layers, it will default to reveal all the active selection as a mask or a white layer mask. However it you hold down the ALT or Option Mac clicking on the layer mask icon add default is a layer mask to hide all black or the selection inverso active as a layer mask.

When you add the first smart filter at one end of the dynamic object a mask with filter will add. The mask will be the additional smart fill effect also the is only a filter mask.  The default filter mask is a mask to reveal white or an actress as a mask selection.

Once you have a mask, you can target and change it using the tools in Photoshop.  So if you have a reveal all mask and you want to be a skin all the mask mask targets and use Ctrl + I or CMD + I reverse.  So if you have a mask for dark tones, you can target contrast of the mask it and willingness to hide what's not shadows.

  • Using Camera Raw as a dynamic filter in PSCC2014

I followed this tutorial, but ultimately I could not get out of 32-bit mode. He kept wanting to treat in HDR pro. I tried to change the mode to 16 bits, but could not.  I was happy with the image, but it was completely unavailable for the economy.

    Any help?

Adobe Camera Raw as a smart filter in Photoshop CC | Adobe evangelists - Julieanne Kost. Adobe TV

Not all formats support 16 or 32 bit modes taken. During the passage of the 32-bit mode, you will see a dialogue box, which must set a balance to your liking for the way it should look like 16 or 8-bit.

A 32-bit mode can be saved as a psd file and maybe a tiff file, but really there is not a lot of other formats that run the 32-bit mode. Oh yes pdf will be as well.

  • Resize a smart object keeping the aspect Gaussian blur?

Is there a way (that I'm missing) to resize a smart object that has a smart filter Gaussian blur while keeping the same aspect and without pixelation it first?

Lets say I am using a background for a product that needs to be blurred: ussualy I would convert it background (JPG image in most cases not too big) to a smart object, then apply a (smart) Gaussian blur in which case it should be more or less concentrated on the road.

The latter when the Image is completed, and if for some reason any (usually of customers complain about the size of the image), I need to resize the document, blur settings remain the same cause that it is much more blurred in this new size smaller than the size of the original image.

Is there no workaround solution (to keep editable) that I'm missing?

    Ty for any help.

If I understand your question. Once you have added the dynamic filter of the dynamic object that convert into a new smart object. So if you want to resample the picture blur will stay the same.
