  New to Captivate. Using Captivate 8 on Windows 8.1.

  I created a set of intelligent form buttons and they are set to appear throughout the project and on the top... so they are always visible.

  Why they only respond once to a click on each slide? More importantly, how to respond to any number of clicks on each slide?

  I want to use it to perform an action advanced throughout the project and I want the user to be able to trigger the advanced action of many times on each slide.

  If the button is pause, and you trigger a tip action, you will be able to click on this button as many times as you want.

  Problem with a form button timed for the rest of the project is that the interruption occurs at the same time on each slide! Take a look at my old article about the form buttons.

  I have a question about is possible to insert the button (or use button shape) that works like the button "Quiz of recovery". So I would like to insert a button that made the offer to the user to start from the beginning of training (not just a quiz) and only visible if the test failed as button quiz recovery.   You'll need a conditional action, triggered on enter to the score slide, which will show you this form button if the value of the variable cpQuizInfoPassFail quiz system is equal to 0. You didn't say if you authorize several attempts on the quiz level? And if this is the case, what are the situations demand concerning this form button?

  I'm developing an application using oracle's 10g. I can't use the standard template.fmb because my application is not running in ebs. There comes the problem: I want to implement the function of button lov as the model, such as:
  1. when the text element gets the focus, display button lov.
  2. when the lost text element the focus, the lov button disappear.
  3. when the reels of the scroll bar, the position of the button lov adjust accordingly.
  4. There is only one lov in a form button and the button lov appeared dynamic.
  
  I found that it is very complex for that.
  can anyone help?

  Try changing the following parameter to true

  app.ui.lovButtons=false
  

  in $ORACLE_HOME\forms\java\oracle\forms\registry\registry.dat

  We have built a course online with Adobe Captivate. I have included on each two buttons slide that allows you to move forward and the other to return back. they have the auto-pause set on them (pause after 1.5 seconds) which I suppose may have something to do with my problem. When I add a smart shape and try to add an effect to it, the effect does not work. I realized that if I move back, and the next button on the script to display ONCE the effect is to show, the effect will work, but it seems ridiculous for buttons at random to see, for example, six seconds in where the slide started. Is it possible to do this job all together without moving the timing buttons?

  Try to set up the 'Pause after' bit for your buttons so that the synchronization stops after only 17 seconds.

  We have an image used as a button that is hidden. All our slides have a button "Next" that must be pressed to continue to the next slide. However, when a user clicks on the image button that triggers somehow advance to the next slide.  We have already reviewed the timeline, actions for the next button and image buttons, but we cannot see what may be the cause.   ATTENTION: it happens that a form button is not disabled when hidden (it was the case for interactive objects up to a version, not sure that one). To be sure, it is really off, my practice is always to create a standard (shared) action which will first turn off the button and then hide it:

  Same thing to make it clickable again, showing only will not always do the trick, you will need:

  Not possible to use a variable in this case to link the label name for a name for the slide.  But I still don't see the purpose at all?

  Will you need to the same button with the same name on multiple slides? Will you use for the rest of the project timing in this case? Because you cannot reuse a name of a button, if you have two instances of this button on two different slides, they will need each a different name. If this is the same form button, programmed for the rest of the project, we will always use the same action, needs not even a tip action because it will «Pop X zip» But there is no way to use the name of the button in this action at all. Joint action is possible with X as the parameter, and then you can assign it to all the buttons that have need of this action. But why do you want that the link between the button name and the name of the slide?  Can you explain? My Captivate intuition tells me that there is a misunderstanding, perhaps because of your experiences of Lectora. Captivate is really different, presented on the differences in workflow with an expert Lectora. I no longer use Lectora but the structure, and certainly the way to 'script' is totally different.

  You don't need a button. Just add a legend of the question bearing slides a sound add you the portion of the legend. You can hide the legend by making it transparent.

  2 simple questions.  Take a look at the form below (pic).  I want to rename the "Refresh button" "Send the request" - but rename the button seems to affect the coding.  I played but am now frustrated.

  2nd question.  I want to dash the form, - have it's about 30 pixels from the left side of the screen.  Whenever I have created dynamic lists and forms, they are still stuck in the left side of the page, and I would like to find a way around it.  I tried to use the removal of text and tried to burst an additional column in French - but nothing works so far.

  Form 'dash' simple solution would be to wrap the form in a container and use css to set the padding or the margin of the form.

I created my own example of form and it works fine, but only if my Master Page Orientation is set to landscape. What Miss me? Is it possible that it only works for Landscape Orientation?

  If you have a look at the script, you will see that from the beginning I'm determination of the dimensions of the button/marker and then halve it.

  var markerDim = xfa.layout.w (marker1) / 2;

  marker1 is the name of the object that contains the script above. Therefore, the script in each button is slightly different.

  I then use this dimension to the center of the button when the cursor is located. Just look at when I use the markerDim variable in the script.

• Buttons on nav smart shape broke in the project of upgrading from 6 to 7

  Captivate version: 7.0.1.237 Windows 7

  I have a project with a navigation that worked correctly in v6, but now the smart navigation buttons form are broken. I tried to rebind the existing smart forms to another slide and create new smart forms to post a link. The forms can be changed visually when you click (normal change), but the project is not going to any other slide.

  Does anyone have suggestions for what else to try? I have a workaround in my back pocket (transparent button on the smart form), but I prefer to do this correctly.

  If the Smart form does not work, I would be a transparent button (don't know why everyone's going for those, but I digress) would fail too.

  I would say check your quiz settings. Chances are that you have an object that can sititng on a blade between where is your smart shape and where you try to bind, if your Quiz settings say that each question should be answered, links will fail.

• Object names individual all changed in smart form in the Properties window

  I'm fairly new to Captivate that maybe this isn't a problem and more a matter of learning. But, the objects that I use as the buttons are all now called ' Smart form ' in the properties panel and timeline. I'm having a problem to find a way to identify the correct object for target with actions. The only time where I see there's real name/object id are always there when I'm trying to build a fast action.

  I use 8 Captivate on Mac 0SX 10.10.3.

  I suspect that not looking to a slide, but a model of slides? Objects on a slide are never any ID.

  For objects on normal slides, you can change the generic name in the properties panel as before.

• How can I hide submit them and disable button "on success" event for question slides?

  I use the "successful" event on the question slides to show a caption for the image and text and a button of smart shape to allow the user to continue to his own time to the next question.  The problem is I can't hide submit and clear buttons and I cannot conceal their with a smart shape...

  Does anyone have advice?

  It's just the way by default that work all the Captivate questionnaire slides.  The default slide elements of questionnaire, including the "submit" button and the Clear button, are always at the level of the top layer, no matter what YOU add to the slide.

  My suggestion would be that maybe you should consider using the actions on the success or on the last attempt to go to a different slide in total BEFORE then go to the next question quiz.  Then you can do what you want on this non-quiz slide.

  Currently using forms with an opacity of zero to hover over my pictures button so that it would work as a button with the default image has changed.

• Disable/hide the smart shape buttons

  I use Cp 8.0.1.  I am trying to disable and hide the buttons of smart shape to go to the next/previous slide until a specific time or a situation that happens.

  Smart shape buttons still work even if disable them you or hide them, even if you do not see them. Is there a way to do this?  Thank you.

  Are you talking about intelligent form buttons that exist on a slide Master?

  If you don't want a smart shape on a regular slide button to be 'available' to the point of a while, you just configure so that the starting point is when you want on the timeline, as shown below:
