Smart touch IQ526: I have a PC model smart touch IQ526. Can I upgrade to Windows 10?
I am running Windows 7 Enterprise. I heard that I have to do a clean install instead of upgrade. It's OK. I am especially concerned by the feature compatibility and touchsmart.
Hello;
Let me welcome you on the HP forums!
Personally, I don't want to do the upgrade. Why?
Because HP does not provide drivers for your PC Win10, and if you force the upgrade, you will then be relegated to generic drivers that Microsoft provides. While those who can BE manipulated, if all are not, then you're stuck with hardware that does not completely, as the HP drivers so that the material simply do not exist.
However, if you are determined to go ahead, you can protect yourself problems upgrade and recovery if, before doing the upgrade, you plan to use a third-party application Imaging/restoration as Macrium Reflect to image your machine off so that you can easily restore it if something does not work.
Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
What I recommend is the following:
(1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
(2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
(3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key
My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition. This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.
I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.
In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry. This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!
NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.
Have fun experimenting with Win10!
Good luck

I have a compaq presario desktop bought at walmart
I found the answer... the online HP chat support person told me that my pc both hardware and software have been bundles with windows 7, she then told me that she could sell me a new pc, a pc of the series P6100z with 320 GB hd and 2 GB of memory and a lot of things for a hugh discount It would include the windows 7 update. She said that the new pc sells for 299-499, but that she would give me a discount and sell it to me for 269.99... in any case, I ran the windows 7 upgrade advisor and it said that my computer can be upgraded to windows 7 32 bit home premium or ultimate. everything was fine... I should have know it was just the HP just lying to scare someone and sell another computer...

I have Windows XP Pro. and lose the connection with my printer (HP Officejet 6500 and I was told that I had to upgrade to Windows 7) Can I upgrade to Windows 7 without having to first install Vista?
You can - clean installation however. No direct path from Windows XP to Windows 7.
If the machine is old, but - I wouldn't bother. You will end up by it hate because it is slow and probably blame the operating system.
The upgrade to Windows 7 is not a solution for the loss of connectivity to a printer - not a logic.
Is what SPECIFIC printer this?
HP Officejet 6500 has e-all-in-One Printer series - E710HP Officejet 6500 All - in - One Printer series - E709If you download and install the latest appropriate WIndows XP complete software driver for your printer and maybe upgrade the firmware of the printer itself-, it would probably solve your problem. If you use it as a wireless printer (it is printed through your network, but not connected by a cable [ethernet]) so you can check for updgrades to the firmware of your router (level) and reconfigure your network completely wireless if you start with a good foundation.

I have an individual account with two users, can I upgrade my plan 3 or 4 users?
Hi Gabriel,
Individual accounts are for a single user, and are associated with an AdobeID. You can, however, installation and connection of two computers on creative cloud but can only use one at a time. If you want to provide for 4 users, you could buy 4 individual memberships or consider creative cloud for teams. Please see the information below:

I have the license of windows 8, can I upgrade my Windows 7 Home basic to Windows 7 Pro?
I bought a laptop with Windows 7 Home Basic installed on it.
and then I bought the upgrade for windows 8 and installed it.
However, I didn't like windows 8 so I used the recovery partition on my laptop to return to windows 7 Home basic.
But I read that I can downgrade windows 8 for windows 7 Pro.
I can do on my laptop?
I'm sorry, you have no great experiences with Windows 8 on your laptop, I promise you it will go better if give you it more time! There are many new features in windows 8, it is faster and more organized!
However, if you have not the capacity as mentioned downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7. It's scheduled for compatibility reasons, to business and so windows 8 base will be not covered.

ProBook 455: what models can be upgraded to windows 10
Hello
I'm probably not the first person to ask this question, but I'll try to find a link or somewhere a page that lists all compatible with Windows 10 laptop computers and HP computers desk? I have a number of HP desktop computers and notebooks of different models (the info listed is for my laptop), and I would like to know who are stretchy and are not in a blink of an eye (if possible).
Thanks in advance,
Michael
@mbraycit: I'm sorry, but there is no consolidated list of all models of HP machines upgrade.
If you go to the linked page and enter the product code, it will tell you whether or not this machine has been tested by HP for Win10 compatibility: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/ads/windows10/upgrade.html

I have an old computer from Compaq with Windows 98 on it. Can I upgrade to Windows XP?
I have an old Compaq that win98, I install Win XP on it? and it is quite easy to do?
original title: the WINDOWS UPGRADECheck that the disc does not have OEM on it, and you have a bet to level or retail key to go with it.
You should be able to run the install from Windows 98. If this is not possible your computer does not support boot from CD, you may need to run the install with a floppy disk.
