• Issue of Smart View?

  Our users report recently that Excel freezes when trying to copy and paste the value of the cell with enable Smart View, the steps they do are the following:

  Open the model smart display of Excel and then click on Control Panel, sharing connection, and then connect to essbase base, ad-hoc analysis.

  then control - C any cell in this model, Excel becomes frozen, they close Excel and restart.

  If Smart view does not activate, then Ctrl C and P control works well.

  Have someone in the Group has a similar question, I hate to blame Smart view for this. We have 11.1.2.5.500 the Smart view, Essbase version is 11.1.2.4

  Is the issue with this model/file?  What happens if the user is using a white sheet excel and did the same steps?

  If its this sheet only, check the display options smart for anything that seems unusual. You can also clear the metadata in the workbook, it could clear up what ever is causing the problem.  to do this, open the template, click Smart View-> Info-> Delete Sheet-> remove all metadata

  Hi all

  I have a spreadsheet that I recovered using Smart View 11.1.1.3 against Essbase 11.1.1.3.

  When I update this spreadsheet against using Smart View 11.1.2.5.215 11.1.2.3.500 Essbase spreadsheet seems to be remove the cells whose content is not a member in the database.

  
  

  Rest of the worksheet correctly refreshes and I receive the correct data in the worksheet by using the last smart view, but I need to have the content which is withdrawn.

  Hello

  I use the standalone 11.1.1.3 HFM. I have connected to the HFM application via the smart view and trying to extract the data. But I get "published" in the cell instead of the data. Alos I put the NOData/MissingLabel # 0. I don't know if I need to change anything in HFM application.

  Please could you help me how to display data in the cell.

  Go to view - Options - smartview tab tab. In the State of the cell, select the data rather than managing the process.

• Smart View "Free-Form" vs Excel Add-In

  The following recovery of Sample.Basic is valid in Excel Add-In:

  It will recover in Smart View, but always immediately converted to this:

  Note that the scenario and product members jumped over to 'stack' on the Member of the year.

  I can't find any way to stop what is happening.  The context is to convert legacy Add - in reports.  Users want to change the layout at all, so avoidable.

  It's actually very interesting. Older versions of the Add-in would not put anything in cell A1.   I have a 11.1.2 job planning environment windows 2008 (x 64) and I installed just the Smart View through the workspace. I am able to connect to planning and ad hoc analysis Essbase DataForms. But I am not able to present data. Every time I come into some number and say present, it gives off that cells with #MISSING. It's as if we're doing an update. This is the case in the Planning and Essbase.
  
  Suggestions, if there is something I have missed? It cannot be a bug because it's one of the most basic things that Smart View must do.

  No, can't submit sample-based either. Looks like a compatibility issue with Office 2002. In the Support Matrix, 2003 and 2007 only one is mentioned.

• Smart view default colors are missing

  A few days ago, I made a connection in Smart mode and prepared data that have smart view default colors in cells, I saved the file and used it well with the colours in it until today morning when I opened the file default colors are not present. I tried options like, refreshing, disconnect, then reconnect but nothing helped me with the problem. Please suggest me what could bring back my colors mode smart back.

  In Smart discovers HYPERION > Options > display have you checked on "RETAIN EXCEL formatting.

  We use Smart View 11.1.1.2 with Office 2007. Is the problem we are facing, we are not able to retain the formatting of color for Coloumn titles, title of the report when we realize any Option grid as
  Zoom In, Zoom out, just keep, only keep...
  
  Using the Excel Format option we will be able to preserve the color of formatting only with Option.But Refresh if we did another grid option, then we are not able to retain the color formatting.
  
  Using the Capture Format option, we are able to keep the color formatting only for data cells not Coloumn securities, report...
  
  Can one suggest how to fix or work around this problem...

  Refer to KB:SmartView Excel formatting is lost after Zoom In, Pivot, undo or redo operations even if "Preserve Excel formatting" is selected. [1096328.1 ID]

  cause: this is an expected behavior in SmartView. During the presentation of the grid is modified, the formatting will not be kept, as SmartView treats as a new grid.

• What does #Invalid in Smart View

  Some users get a result of #invalid in their Smart View queries. It seems to only show when there is no data (i.e. #missing), and we are curious to know why it displays not only as #missing. What are the parameters cause Smart View to classify something as missing vs invalid? We noticed a thing, it was that a query that displays #missing in some cells, turned to #invalid when an attribute is added to the query. My thought is that the result of #invalid means roughly "sorry, cannot calculate your attribute if there is no data, if your application is not valid. Is anyone know for sure?

  You can search various attributes and select the views of data. It gives you an example where it is used (they use #meaningless instead of #invalid in the example)

  In my previous post, I used the term slowly changing attributes. They use various attributes in the documentation. They mean the same thing.

  Did someone got an error 1935 when installing smart views? My helpdesk told me I need a registry exception, but I have to tell them what it is and where to put.

  We cube essbase with Smart View 11.1.2.5.500, users put in place their card smart view presentation technique that extract data from their financial model, my question is that

  When users are ready to send data and connect to essbase, forecast data in the spreadsheet disappear, replace data into Essbase (is there nothing in essbase yet obvious), is any way to avoid this?

  I can add leaf with connection to essbase, then copy the value and submit, it works. But of course, it is not very effective.

  I don't miss something in the smart display setting?

  Dan is correct.  It is expected when connecting to Essbase of Smartview behavior.  The work around what he suggests is also one I have my team to use.  It has additional benefits.  You can do your work on a single sheet and then copy - paste special values only to the Essbase submission page.  In this way, you can use the formula to create your presentation, but not the formula on your shipment page.  Then, you can create a page of validation to make sure that the data matches between the two.

• Error recovery Smart View

• Smart View Add - In in Excel 2013 disappers

  Smart View add-in disappears whenever I run a special on a range of new or existing and close the Excel file. When I re - open this file Excel same or new, Smart View missing once again, so I go to Option > Add-Ins > and this is under the Application Inactive Add-Ins. To activate it, I'm going to manage the COM add-ins and check the Oracle Smart View for office option. It works, but I have to do it EVERY time that I re - open the excel file.

  quick, followed to my previous note, with a slight variation on the solution of JM, I've been able to resolve these two issues of users on a system of users that the key was not in HKEY_Local_Machine but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

  so, to quote with slight modification...

  Open regedit and locate the entry

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin\

  and make sure that the LoadBehavior key is set to 3.

  My guess is that the difference was caused by the way in which it has been installed and the local user rights.

  You change the formatting:

  right click on the value, and then selecting Toggle field codes

  It should be in a format something like that {= HsGetvalue ("", "#POV SIZE") |} SmartView12343242342 | {General |}

  in this code, "Général" is the applied formatting, change it to your desired format by the thousands formatting {= HsGetvalue ("", "#POV SIZE") |} SmartView12343242342 | 0, 0. {00 |} for example will give you thousands, commas, with 2 decimal places.

  If you don't want the separation by commas or decimal places 0, just use

  It's the same syntax of formatting that Excel uses.
