Smartphones blackBerry 3G on 8707 in the States?

(I bought a BT 8707 in London and use it via ATT in the States.)

It works on their edge (2G network), but not their 3G.

Our service COMPUTER company says that the 8707 only supports 3G in Europe and not in the States.

Who is?

Yes, it makes sense, once you understand that 3G in Euorope and the United States are two totally different frequency bands.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Based on your description, I would deduct low or weak signal from your mobile service provider. Digital devices to modulate their energy consumption depending on the strength of the signal they receive from the Tower of the carrier. Low quality/signal strength, higher battery drain. For good check, you need to contact your mobile service provider, because it is the network, which is the cause. It is possible to have a few problems in the areas that you are in.

You might also try to start in Safe Mode, to remove all applications 3rd automatic launch party (even if you do not see them in the AppSwitcher Ribbon, they can run):

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry does not connect to the blackberry World Server

    Hello

I have a BB9780. I got it as a set of second hand.

My service provider is Vodacom SA and I propose a package of BIS with them, they confirm that my package of their side has no problem.

I tried all the tips I've read on this Forum and still nothing helps.

I enter the BB app world and it tells me that 'Blackberry cannot connect to the blackberry world server.

Again this is not the side of my carrier form since they confirm that my package is open and usable.

I can get Temp to the BB app world via WiFi but lose the connection, and this isn't my WiFi as my laptop is still online when I am offline

    Help, please

Ok. Do not worry about the BES... This is Blackberry Enterprise Service and only for use by businesses. The setting we use is BIS... Blackberry Internet services. Unfortunately many networks will tell users that their BIS is connected when they did not. My advice is to ring the network, tell them where you looked, in the State. She shows very clearly your BIS is not connected and ask them to connect

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Bold 9930 - where are the themes?

«.. . just received my new BlackBerry Bold 9930 and I love it, this new cell is added my 9650 and so I like too this one breathtaking 9930 the 9650 "out of water"!  However, I like to think I'm skilled at all things BlackBerry, I am having a devil of a time trying to find themes for the 9930.  I searched the site of BlackBerry and have also searched the net for more information, and I've not found anything significant enough to convince me.  In other words, the only thing I found was 9930 wallpaper and which consisted of flags of different countries and a couple of what is appeared-to-be-themes that consisted of a Christmas or some other isolated icon located next to the menu (hmmm, it's really a theme?)!

The only thing I can think is that themes for the 9930 has just have not been developed yet, am I correct or there at - there some magical path to 9930 themes that I've yet to discover - I appreciate and certainly 'like' any help anyone can provide! »

    Sincerely,

    Cathy Ann

You're right, the theme for OS7 development package has not yet been published by RIM.

However, in the last two days a developers has sorta broken the key... and released some.

  • Smartphones blackBerry how do I change the email address next to the icon of e-mail on the screen message box?

Hi I just got my first Blackberry. It was only for a week and I think I messed up. My wife has one and I wanted to get his address book in mine without loseing my info. I plugged the two s of Blackberry to the computer and use the Fund Manager to import the information. I used the transfer to a new Blackberry device option and I thought everything was fine until I looked in my address book and I saw all my contacts where gone. I don t care that there wasn t good number of them and I can easily replace them, but what bothers me is his email address appears on the screen when I switch e-mail message box and its top of page e-mail. I get my emails not his s so it's just the header changed in need so if someone could help that would be great.

    Thanks Shaun

You also transferred HIS accounts of e-mail on your device.

Options > Advanced > Service books and to search for and delete all entries with SHE addresses email, the [cical] both [cimime] entries.

With the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

    And you should be clear.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 9300 3 - fell in the toilet

My phone slipped from my hand in the toilet.  I took it out very quickly but... you know the water has already obtained the parts.  I took out the battery and SIM all dried up.  Breath out with water and replace the sim card and the battery in the phone.  He began to charge the blackberry on the screen and hung up.  I took the new battery and sim and tried in my old phone and they both worked.  I put it in the phone all nothing on screen.  Yesterday I took it to AT & T and they said... Sorry $ 400 for a new... I sat out yesterday battery and sim outside in the Sun, hoping the heat would dry it out.  Put the battery and sim back in... still nothing.  Help!

You have probably fried it by continuing to put the battery in and let her power.

Most all BlackBerrys will work after getting wet, as long as you are patient and thorough.

1 the battery immediately! Do not turn on your BlackBerry device.
    2. allow the device to dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days * (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it every day" by placing the battery in. Leave what would to dry completely. It takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can damage only (humidity + power = disaster).
    3. If the unit is hot after the drying period, let it cool to room temperature before placing the battery in the.

    * Suggestions on your BlackBerry in a warm dry place (open, with battery):

    • Place the BB in a container of dry uncooked rice, and then you can also place it in one of the locations mentioned below.
    • On top of all heat dry emitting electronic components: TV or CRT, LCD, TV cable box / Satellite or plasma monitor
    • On the dashboard of your car on a day sunny
  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry ID - unable to access the Web Login site

I have problems logging into App World on the Web site. When I click on loggin it brings me to the BlackBerry ID url that shows the site cannot be displayed or problem loading page due to the connection has expired.

I tried to go through the site ID BlackBerry (BlackBerry - BlackBerry ID) and App World Store (BlackBerry App World - home page), but I still have this problem. I have tried different browsers (IE 8, Firefox, Chrome, Opera) but no luck.

App World works very well on my BlackBerry but unable to loggin on the Web portal.

I tried to contact RIM via Twitter but had no solutions of their own.

    * Update
I contacted the RIM through my wireless support and discovered his works at their end. I contacted my friend and he was able to connect to the site. There must be something with my ISP connection.

    * Update 2

I contacted my ISP and they said that they can access the login page of the App World. I tried my VPN connection and it works. I still don't understand why I can't access it without VPN

I need to know what prevents it from my computer. Well, I'm done.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Maps is loaded on the NEW Bold 9700, but there is no icon to start the application

You just bought a new Bold 9700.  I ran all of possible update.  BlackBerry Maps IS loaded (v5.0.0).  The operating system is the most recent.  I see BlackBerry Maps in applications of the add-on, but there is no icon to start the application.  The seller is completely useless when it comes to helping solve the problem.  The GPS seems to work and provides the correct location data, but I can't find a way to start the BlackBerry Maps application.  What gives?

GPS still works on the device, even without BlackBerry Maps.

    Try Google maps. Free.

in 2013, I bought blackberry curve 9380 that it worked well without any problems.

only 8 months before it shows the installation of the sos service fail.

I updated a new os in it even it's show same problem so kindly give me the precise of the IDF solution so that I should use.

    model. 9380 curve

    PIN code. [removed personal information]

    BT MAC - 80 60 07 7 BB 20

It is a forum sponsored by BlackBerry user. I am a user like you.

I do not understand "SOS service installation failed. What is installation of service in this context with SOS?

I'm guessing that you mean that you are the only emergency service. I would have again assumed SIM card problem before the problem of the OS.

Have you tried another SIM card in your BlackBerry and tried your SIM in another phone?

  • Away you smartphones blackBerry 7.1 update on the Torch 9810

I just did the update for the new bundle of 7.1 from my PC. Twice he has lost the connection to the phone after the restart and comes up with an error 507.

Fortunately www.blackberry.com/507 tells you how to recover your old operating system.

It works very well, so there is nothing wrong with my phone or computer - it's the * beep * update which is screwed!

I just found out (I only got the torch for a few months) that "restore" from the desktop software is not restore your applications! I hope it will work http://www.ehow.com/how_5864947_restore-blackberry-apps.html

I restore all the bundle 7.0 for the second time.

A great way to waste an eveneing...

    jbraner wrote:
Well, it's not particularly useful - is it?

You've upgraded to 7.1 without problems?  YES

It will not install. There may be something wrong with the phone or the PC or desktop software - or it wouldn't restore to 7.0.

Of course, it takes something like that to get a 'full backup' account with the desktop software does not save 3rd party applications!

    Well, another night spoiled...

You can back up the applications but is not a native function

Basically, you make a switch unit and once saved, copy the files and cancel the switch.

    Itinerary here

I use the Desktop Manager as much as all my apps can be downloaded from the app world, but I know that some have collected more special and above will help you in the future

This is how to update an operating system

    Manual device OS upgrade instructions:

    1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    2. make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry. Get DM here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

    3. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

    5. This step is not necessary unless there is a problem on the next steps. Use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then proceed to step 6

6 remove the internet connection for PC and reboot the PC.

    7. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

    8. If you did step 5, restoration of the back upward. Follow this KB if necessary http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

Take advantage of the new operating system.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry records is not on the network

Hi, I recently bought a unlocked Blackberry Storm 9530 on Amazon for use on my network provider of Unitel of Angola. I bought a BB plan with my carrier but the phone will not register on the network for BIS. Ive done a wipe of security on the device, rebooted the machine, but nothing happens. Can someone help me with this please?

Ahhhh... that's very significant. This means that for some reason, the PIN code of this BB is locked to receive services of BIS of ANY carrier. It might have been reported as lost or stolen, which would result in this message. But no one here can do a search on the issue... on the contrary, your carrier will have to be prepared to dig deeper for you, including climbing formally to BlackBerry if necessary.

    Good luck!

  • Bluetooth in blackBerry Smartphones: Blackberry - GOLD-"Bluetooth devices" in the control panel Device Manager?

I am a beginner BB but computer user who slowly found pieces of the overall concepts of how my Blackberry is part of mail etc., servers local applications, Bluetooth, USB.  (Links to concepts of BB rather than appreciated step-by-step instructions!)

Here is my current problem: to connect my BB to my PC via Bluetooth it seems there are two places, I can do that: either in the "Bluetooth devices" item in Control Panel - or - in Device Manager Blackberry device with the button «Set up Bluetooth» connection tab

These two make it appear very similar windows that allow me to 'Add' a Bluetooth device, but they are clearly different applications.  What is the difference?  They are for the same purpose? Or are they totally different things such as plug in headphones to BB vs connect BB to the PC?

For the unknown error said check this KB.  With windows Vista, disable UAC normally solves the problem.  Something to try if the KB does not is, click on the button to reset configuration (synchronization, configuration tab)

    As soon as possible!

    Thank you!

If BlackBerry Desktop Software does not recognize your phone, you're really out of luck. It is imperative that the BDS connects to your phone.

RIM has this to say about getting your phone to connect to the BDS:

    I hope that helps you.
