Smartphones blackBerry 8900 with Apple Mac

HI - anyone out there has experience with the use of the new 8900 in conjunction with a Mac computer? I have always used a PC and MS Office software (Outlook) for syncing etc. I think to put a Mac and I'd hear questions before I go ahead. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do not use the TMO forums, they are a waste of time. I've been a Mac user for years and just found the right way to synchronize with your Mac. Use PocketMac for Blackberry, you can download it from the Blackberry site. You can also export all your yahoo or gmail contacts in your address book and synchronize your address book with your BB 8900. I am satisfied with my MacBook and my Blackberry. They are a great combination.

Can someone tell me how to get my BB to sync with my Mac. I 10.4 on my Mac and have sync my BB once to get contacts on him, but he did not finish an update of the synchronization again. He go to contacts and does not go. I use pocketMac and have the low charges implemented to date.

You can download BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac. It is available for download now at http://blackberry.com/mac

However, since you have Mac OS x 10.4, it will not work because the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac requires at least Mac OS x 10.5.5.

You can easily switch to Mac OSX 10.6 now. This is only an upgrade $30 Apple.

    I hope this helps.

  • Update blackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Device with Mac

    Hello

I have three questions about my BlackBerry "BOLD":

1.) as a Mac user I want to update my device software. However I don't find this function in the BB Desktop Manager for Mac. Any advice?

2.) I need to add some languages like Chinese or Japanese to my BB "BOLD". How?

3.) is is possible to download pictures on my BB? Ideally in a size reduced?

    Thanks for the help!

.Exe files are for installation on a Windows OS. You will not be able to install using the latter on a Mac OS. The BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac uses WebSL which connects to a server to find the latest version of the software provided by your provider of wireless to your device.

If you notice that the Chinese is not available, it is because your wireless provider did not in the package. You can contact them for more information.

  • How to connect and use Stor.E TV with Apple Mac

    Hello

I just bought the Stor.E TV but I use Apple mac.
Y at - there a program I can download or just a way that I can connect my Stor.E to my computer?

At the moment it is locked.

    Thanks :)

    Hello

I m not very good if you could use this since there is no special software for MAC OS leopard.
But the TOSHIBA StorE TV supports a common USB port and can be connected to the mac / laptop using the common USB plug a cable play

Perhaps that the MAC will recognize this external USB device automatically and you won't need to install any software or drivers

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac

I am trying to download Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac.  When I click on download it asks whether to save the file.  When I click on Yes, the download box appears and indicates the place of download.  At the end of the download, nothing happens.  The download box sits right on my screen and no other guests occur.  There is no sign of any Blackberry file in the Applications folder on my MacBook pro.  Site Web de Blackberry for downloads screen does not change.

My feeling is that I somehow need to 'install' the uploaded file, but am at a loss to know how to do this.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Assuming you are using Safari, the default location for downloaded files is the folder downloads. You should find the installer downloaded it. If this is not the case, check where you download the file and look in this folder. The file you're looking for should be named "BlackBerry Desktop Software.dmg". Double-click it to mount the disk and then image to launch the installer.

You must run the Setup program to install the Desktop on Mac software, it is not just an app that you slip into your Applications folder.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8900 curve

    Hello

I plan to buy a Smartphone. Still undecided between a Blackberry Curve 8900 and a Nokia E71X. I have a few questions:

    1. Not to mention that voice dialing, can I use my voice to other duties (provide GPS voice instructions to find an address, etc..)?
    2. When you use the desktop application, in addition to using the USB connection, I can connect the 8900 using Bluetooth or WiFi, for synchronization?
    3. The 8900 can be attached (using it as a wireless modem to connect my laptop to the Internet)?
    4. The home screen can be customized (can change icons, shortcuts, the list of applications, etc.)?
    5. The screen can change between Portrait and landscape?
    6. The GPS is a complete recommended standalone GPS, or it relies on wireless service (for example, ATT charges $10/month for the GPS service, called A - GPS)? What I mean is that I have to pay for this service, or can GPS works without him?
    7. What is the warranty for the 8900?
    8. Is the 3 8900?
    1. I'm not aware of the use of the voice to give GPS instructions. You can use voice dialing, which is where you can talk to the someone name in the address book and BlackBerry will call this number
    2. You can connect via Bluetooth and USb cable
    3. Yes. Although with some companies you need monthly extra payan to attach
      http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB05196
    4. You can change the theme or download themes of the device to change the appearance of the icon. You can hide the icons that you don't want anymore.
    5. In my view, that this feature is available on the storm.
    6. You do not have to pay for the GPS. If you get a BlackBerry data plan then it comes with data unlimited, so you do not download charged to use the data. There are a few good GPS programs that offer turn-by-turn directions

    7. I believe it is a guarantee of 1 year, with a 30 days money back guarantee if you buy from your carrier

    8. I think that the device only connects to the EDGE network, not 3 G

  • Enterprise activation Smartphones blackBerry 8900

I can't activate my Curve 8900 (new) to synchronize wirelessly with Outlook.

We have a Blackberry Enterprise Server and I was delivered with the (new) password.

I entered my e-mail address and password, but it gives an error message that says "contact your administrator" which is not really intuitive. I also tried adding the details of the server but had the same problem.

The first time I synchronized via my laptop and it worked, then when I removed the cable and experienced what precedes, I even if I did something wrong during installation so I wiped the blackberry and tried again. Same problem as above and I have not connected to the laptop yet.

I checked with our company, which has confirmed that my SIM card is enabled for data. The collection starts when I put it in an old Blackberry device.

Any advice will be really welcome.

    Thank you

  • Error of DM of Smartphones blackBerry sync with laptop computer

I posted this on the forum of the storm, but realize he probably should have gone on this forum, as you'll see below I tried everything to get my laptop to synchronize with the storm, but it blocks every time during the initial synchronization. V5 tried unsuccessfully again last night.

Suggestions... currently a paying for a phone (for three months) which is unusable!

I recently had my Storm repair back only to find out that all my contacts were deleted. I had a problem before the repair is trying to synchronize using the Desktop Manager when it crashed every time when trying to sync. I tried several times to uninstall and reinstall/repair current DM software, also tried to remove the RIM etc but DM files crashes whenever I try to sync. Any ideas? Windows XP with the latest drivers/software.

    and once again...

Sorry to repost this, but it makes me crazy, I have tried everything to try and get my Storm to synchronize with my laptop and Outlook. Tried to reload, repair, uninstall, reinstall, with Norton, without Norton, deleted the registry files, deleted new registry files and anything at all mention Blackberry RIM etc etc been at it now for more than a week!

This phone is completely usless to me since I can't synchronize to retrieve my contacts. I think I have a virus on my laptop but everything else works fine, conducted the audit of the register and the comprehensive analysis of the system several times to see if he had any problem but nothing ever came. The Director of office work and synchronized without problem... I would rather the Chuck this phone far than having to manually re my contacts. I called my provider and they can not help, I really don't want to have all re install my laptop OS just on the off chance that it is perhaps the only thing that could get the DM to work again!

Seriously an iphone and the more stable Mac platform!

    :-(

    Scocha

    scocha,

With respect to the reloading of the software on the laptop, I'm not too sure that any computer laptop is a little different.  In addition, I can't suggest that you do this, but only that it turns out that the issue is not device or Desktop Manager related but more a problem with the laptop.  Have you considered calling the seller of your laptop for some tips or tricks on this?  Have you thought about putting your Outlook information on another computer in the meantime, so you have at least your rear sync?

  • Problems of Smartphones blackBerry sync with outlook, following a back up and restore

It gave me a new BlackBerry "BOLD" device to replace a defective. I did a sync with my outlook, contacts etc. calendar so all the information was up-to-date and then backed up all my data from the original handset. I then successfully restored all of this data to the new remote control.

Since I was not able to properly synchronize my phone with outlook. the blackberry desktop manager no longer link the contacts in outlook with the correct contacts on the handset. It so happens with messages with "resolutions of conflict" where he compares with Emma Smith on the BlackBerry smartphone, contact for example John Smith on outlook - have nothing to do with eachother. Both Outlook and the handset have the same information, but they are more link successfully.

I wondered if it has something to do with how contacts are identified by the Office Manager and if restore information from the new remote control has changed that on the device?

As I have more than 600 contacts, I am very concerned about doing the wrong thing and lose vital information and so far nobody's confidence was able to tell me what to do.

Please can someone help me solve this problem?

    Thank you

    MarijkeV

If you have the data synchronized in Outlook as a backup, you will be ok. You can also use the backup and restore utility to perform another backup of the databases on the device.

If you delete this folder, you will lose any information on the BlackBerry or Outlook. Start with the Desktop Manager closed before deleting this file. After that you remove it, connect the BlackBerry to your computer, then open the Desktop Manager.

From the Desktop Manager 4.3, I think, the icon you would go in to reconfigure the settins would sync | Synchronize

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8900 reset completely - edit: problem solved.

I'll try and provide as much information as possible here, but I am very confused on my 8900 (OS 4.6.1.199) that will accomplish a reset.

Yesterday when the phone was sitting right next to me, the screen turn white background seemed the phone was given to zero himself, but it never reset and just would stay at my screen from provider of carrier (Cincinnati Bell) for as long as I let him.  I have not installed applications 3rd party or themes or done something to change my BB anytime in the last month.

I did a battery pull to try and reseit again and the same problem persisted.  I let the battery sit for 15 minutes and put back in, same problem.  I let the battery sit for an hour, same thing.

The strange thing is, if I hold the power button to turn off the phone, the phone starts to blink on the home screen, validate my security software and then turn off.  So if I turn on it back, the phone will be on but lack icons and applications.  Particularly missing my box icon (a quite important for me) mailbox and BBM entirely.  I made sure that they are not hidden or in folders and they are not found.  I'm not able to pull up from my address book simply by typing the name of a contact from the home screen if I want to make a phone call.  Instead, I have to press the call button, and then type the number in.

When I got home last night, I removed the battery and plugged the Blackberry to my computer with the battery pulled and waited until the battery icon happen on the screen.  Then I put the battery and tried to update all the software on the device, but the Office Director said that all software is up-to-date.  Then I used the executable Loader which forced the phone through a series of resets and the phone came back with all the icons and functionality (except still not BBM).  I tried to download BBM through Blackberry World and it wouldn't let me download My World or any other list that she appeared in.  It wouldn't even appear when I clicked on it to open it in the lists (other applications would be open and I'd like to upload them to the app store).  So after being asked by the phone several times more that I had to reset, I reluctantly did and now the phone is in the same State in all day yesterday where I hold the power button while it is frozen reset status so that he can turn it on.  Still missing functionality and icons that I mentioned earlier.  I also removed a lot of apps of the day after just in case where the phone memory and on the left that it plugged in all night to the computer has been insufficient.

    Need help, please please help.

    1. do you have a recent backup of your device? If this isn't the case, get fed up as much as possible you could do before and Director of office to perform a backup.

    2. now disconnect the USB and close the Desktop Manager.

    3 reload/upgrade the operating system:

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

It's the latest official OS released for the 8900 device:
http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-8900-series-discussion-Javelin/219290-latest-OS-8900-5-0-0-7... Download the file of the OS on the PC and then install it on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

    5. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Media card for Smartphones blackBerry not seen by Mac Blackberry Desktop software

    Hello

    I have a Storm 9530 running 5.0.0.32 8 connecting to a Mac Pro Desktop version 1.0.2 (build 8) under OS X 10.5.8 or 10.6.2 running.

When I connect the 9530, he starts the desktop software and mounted volumes to the Mac (they appear in the Finder).  However, in the desktop software, the storm is declared as having no card detected media.

What is a deficiency in the Blackberry Desktop Manager, or a potential problem with the phone?

    Thank you

    Tim

The issue was with the option 'Auto enable mass storage mode '.  With this on the storm that is connected to the system, media card is mounted as a USB volume and therefore, the BDM are locked.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8900 on BT

Please help me, if anyone can.

I have a Curve 8900 and it's unlocked but he was previously with BT (it comes unlocked BT as it was a commercial contract). But I want to use the new Blackberry 5.0 software, being, however, BT, I can't get to it.

I know that Vodafone's sister company BT, so I tried to install it via the loader software. However the Blackberry charger does not recognize the update for the phone. So I guess that the BT software and software Vodafone is different.

I read on some other sites that if you remove the file named vendor.xml, it will allow you to update 5.0, but this does not work either.

So what can I do? The charger just does not recognize software for Vodafone and I cannot install it on my Blackberry BT and BT are not yet free from 5.0.

    Help, please

    TS

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

You can use any carriers OS package device as long as it's for the same exact model number. Delete the Vendor.xml file, that is indeed what it takes. See this procedure:

Insert between steps 1 and 2, delete Vendor.xml

If this does not work, please report back with the exact symptoms and exactly where current won't... "the Blackberry charger does not recognize the update for the phone" doesn't tell us much. We need details for help.

    Let us know.

  • Sync Smartphone blackBerry 8900 problem: "Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working".

Curve 8900 on T-Mobile.  Fune Sync worked until a few days ago.  Recently used the Blackberry site to update all the software after that I received a message on my phone to do so (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/update/). Now, in the middle of synchronization (Bluetooth or USB), Windows tells me that "Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working".  It always stops working at the stage where Desktop Manager treats the device calendar.

I tried all the stuff I can think: uninstalling and reinstalling, Outlook Update, disable Windows Defender, USB and Bluetooth, used the T-Mobile site and the EDGE of the site... nothing.  Help!

    Desktop Manager v5.0.0.11

    Handheld Software v4.6.1.231

    Windows Defender is DISABLED

    Synchronize with Outlook 2007

Could mean that the calendar on the BlackBerry database is corrupted. Are the entries in Outlook until data on the BlackBerry? If so you can try out the BlackBerry database, and then synchronize again. To clear the database on the BlackBerry, go to the backup and restore | Advanced. On the right, you will see the BlackBerry databases. So you can choose the calendar, then click on the delete button. That will remove all entries from the BlackBerry calendar. Then try to sync.
