As a community of users, nobody here can answer your question with any level of authority whatsoever. So, the path of your inquiry is here, in these forums. On the contrary, it is through your service provider warranty - which will be either your place of origin of the purchase, your mobile service provider, or a... authorized service center that varies by region, but when you bought your BB, you would have been provided with documents about the exact terms and methods of use of your warranty. Contractually, that's the only place that can answer your question with authority.

  • BlackBerry OS Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9900 software update from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0

    HELO everyone

I tried to upgrade my device software Blackberry Bold 9900 version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 but with difficulties. I tried to use the Blackberry Desktop Manager, but there was no version 7.1.0 figure among the available updates. Even when I tried to do it directly through the official website of Blackberry, also Version 7.1.0 was not shown. Finally, I tried to do the update with my phone directly by going to: Options > device > software updates.

It shows my Version 7.0.0 Bundle 2406 current and available in a version 7.1.0 Bundle 1149. But when I clicked Perform Update to download the new version, he has shown preparing to download but then displays an error message such as "Download cannot continue because your device cannot connect to the update server using the following methods: Wi - Fi.

During this time, I did not upgrade with a Wi - Fi connection because I have an active blackberry data subscription of 2 GB of my mobile operator.

Please I need help on how to perform the upgrade from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 with the last packet.

Thanks to you all I'm waiting for your helpful solution.

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    Hello

Here's my problem: today, after unplugging my blackberry to the computer, it has begun to close every minute (I mean, when it restarts, a minute or two after it restarts) and he did for hours!

The problem is that I can't even try to update the operating system or restore the original configuration that I don't have enough time before his stop!

I tried to use it without the SIM card, has not changed anything.

My biggest concern is that I can't do anything because I can't keep it on more than a few minutes!

Someone has already experienced the same problem? Is there a way to fix this that refer to society (hoping that the warranty has not expired...)?

Sometimes things just go wobbly... Very dear, I hope that you already have a good backup of all, for what you describe, you are unlikely to be able to take one that you continue to try to recover from this situation. If your BB is very new, so you may want to just take to formal support and do not try to recover it now... After all, it might actually be a hardware problem (there is no way, at an internet distance really diagnose... perhaps we can 'deduct' material being likely, but we can't diagnose 100%).

If you want to proceed, then please follow these steps (PC, not MAC):

    1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (3) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want for your BB:

    (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9900, unable to scroll down

I had this problem for several weeks now, I tried to look at the forums but I was unable to find a decent solution for the issue.

I can't scroll downwards or upwards using the trackpad. I did a diagnostic self test and the trackpad seems to work very well. I can see the icons highlight that I move the trackpad on the left, right, up and down, but as I move the cursor to the bottom, the screen doesn't seem to follow. I tried to do a battery pull, increasing the sensitivity of my trackpad, factory reset but none of these work. If I try to manually move the menu down using the touchscreen, it works but is extremely laggy. I don't have a lot of apps on here apart from the standard applications that is pre-installed, and I downloaded Facebook, twitter, and natwest.

    Any suggestions?

    Phone: Blackberry Bold 9900

    Software version: 7.1.0 Bundle: 2061

After messing around throughout the day yesterday, I managed to make it work.

Here's what I did in case anyone has the same problem.

First of all, I did a factory reset, remove all applications and settings. Then I connected the phone to my computer, installed office program and installed the older version of the OS on my phone. It did not always work, so I restarted the phone in safe mode. The problem had not been resolved, so I gave up. After its return to the phone after a few hours the problem seemed to have smooth itself out in safe mode. I kept the phone on the older version so I hope that the same situation from happening again.

Its been a month I lived the problems with my BB "BOLD". The problems that I had seem related to bluetooth devices I use.

I stopped using my device bluetooth BackBeat 903 + for about a month and I have almost never experienced problems with my phone more. My phone to freeze about 2 to 3 times a day and after stopping the use of the BackBeat 903 + I feel only device hangs once a week (whenever I have start to abuse the device and have a lot of things running)

Yesterday I started using the BackBeat 903 + again and freezing devices returned several times a day. I'll assume, for, now that the BackBeat 903 + is not entirely compatible with the Blackberry Bold 9900.

  • BlackBerry smartphone BlackBerry Bold 9900 - drums

    Nice day

I have a BlackBerry Bold 9900, for almost two years now. It's a great phone. It seems always elegant and it is never out of reach.

However, recently it started giving problems. It should be fully charged and when I drive to work, the battery will drain while I'm on my way to work, even not half an hour because I took it off charge. I thought that maybe it's the charger, so I got a new. But now, it is even worse. I can not remove it load or it will turn off and try to start again without success. He tries to repeatedly turn itself, but in the middle of loading on the start screen, it would stop again and repeat the same cycle.

I really like this phone and he can do much more for me, so I don't want to have in this moment of conviviality.

Wouldn't be the battery that's at the end of his life? Or is there a problem with the operating system or the software?

I would appreciate a response and advice.

    Thank you in advance!

    WernandSwart wrote:

It is probably the case.  A typical Li-ion battery (which is what using BlackBerry devices) will be on 300 to 500 charge during his life cycles.  If you are a typical user and load every day (even just the trim to the top), you can see that it is good for about 1 to 2 years.  I exchange your battery before I do anything else about this.

    See you soon.

  • "Unlocked" bought Smartphones blackBerry Bold 9900 & it is locked. Need to talk to BlackBerry support URGENT!

    Okay, so...

I bought a Bold Touch of TeleChoice 9900 & was assured this phone was unlocked ready to be used with any network SIM.

On bringing the phone House, I loaded & tried to insert my SIM 3. The phone still showed "Insert SIM" & "SOS only", as if it does not recognize my SIM card at all. I tried Optus SIM of my boyfriend & voila! He got network connectivity.

After calling TeleChoice back, I learned that it is the first time that staff have been equipped with a handset for outright sale which was actually still locked. They try to negotiate for the unlocking instructions to give to me, because there are not many of these devices autour yet, so they can't replace it. Apparently, their responsible State Optus raised the issue with their team IMEI Back Office, who took my details to work with BlackBerry to get an unlock code.

Unfortunately, this process takes some time, as the State Manager is in meetings all day & cannot work constantly on my problem. So, I tried to call Optus & BlackBerry to explain the situation and see if I can't fix something myself.

5 employees Optus from different teams I talked last night, noone know a way to unlock the phone for me, a non-Optus account. BlackBerry 24/7 Support line looked like an oasis on the horizon, but then I could not go to anyone because I didn't have a ticket code!

I really hope someone here can help me to get directly in touch with BlackBerry team!

    Thanks in advance,

    Sass

That's all I could think as a simple reason why this can happen too...

A took my phone to the nearest store of 3 an hour ago & they guy tried a few different, put SIMs in place it has not been tried my SIM card of any problem with the phone, & it worked? He didn't do anything differently than what I did the last few days, but for some reason, that it suddenly worked & I got a BB message saying that my phone had just been connected to the BIS.

Moral of the story? Be patient when dealing with new phones, I guess?

I am so relieved to use my new phone, this fourth day of equity.

Have you tried the same SIM card on another device to see if you are able to send SMS? If you have a first then make a complete backup of your device using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, then back to factory setting to avoid any IT policy as a device, consult this Knowledge Base to help:

  • BlackBerry smartphone BlackBerry Bold 9900 don't start

    Hello

So it'll be a long message, sorry about that. Bear with me as I don't know much on blackberry (being an android user).

Good so I have a BB 9900 BOLD, or as a matter of fact, he is my father.

It got stuck once it has installed a "traffic software" downloaded from the BlackBerry store (or whatever it's called), he said. He couldn't give me the name if (darn users ).

Phone used for said mistake soft 200 on starting and stuck there. We also got an error 600 or 606 (do not remember well). Could not start and itwouldn can't accept the password then occasionally he offered us to do.

He tried to reset the phone, as explains it the support site (type 10 wrong passwords and other things), but it won't do any good. It all seemed pretty broken anyway because at the start it said try password: 2/10 or 4/10 without having even tried us it before...

And BB Office would not allow us in... don't list software or anything like that.

Asked a friend at work that is being developed on BB, it couldn't get much better than us, despite trying to plant, reset the unit.

Removing the battery did not much good, soft reboot either. I saw on the internet that by pressing "DEL" when booting was something... Well this isn't (or I did wrong).

Given that our computers at work are limited by the proxy settings, we thought that the BB desktop software could not download a random update that may have been needed to put things in their place.

Finally after installing the BB software on my own computer, I could reset and verify a full software reset. I also did a wipe of data before going to that much too.

Here's where I found myself and now I am really stuck:

    1 / start
offers me to start the phone by configuring it, either with SIM on no SIM card.

I say that I'm not a SIM card.

He said his will show me some video instruction... nothing happens

the I get to a screen "blackberry platform 5.0.0.496" titled, with a "eception exception: java.lang.nullpointerException.

    Press ok

Some "clock / hourglass" appears, I am told is that the garbage collector to run or something.

Presents itself... MUCH like every 2 seconds.

    Press ok until nullpointer disappears

    Gives me another error:

    application registry.waitFor (0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout

Then after pressing ok returns to the previous java.lang.NullPointerException and then stay like this for always.

If I insist wrong on the 'OK' button, it will eventually get to

    "applicationregistry.getOrWaitFor (0x3826bb0c1bc02022) owner died thread [thread-262253568, 5].

In the background, I can still see what I think, it's a list of currently available software:

    (highlighted): AddressBook
    CLA...
    AltP...
    AltR...
    AltV...
    AltV...
    BlackBerry Protect?
    BrickBreaker

the trees those being hidden by the popup error... for the rest well I can't scroll down.

What can I do all this?

Thank you all for your help and ideas to solve this problem.

See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

    Download the OS here:

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
