"Unlocked" bought Smartphones blackBerry Bold 9900 & it is locked. Need to talk to BlackBerry support URGENT!

Okay, so...

I bought a Bold Touch of TeleChoice 9900 & was assured this phone was unlocked ready to be used with any network SIM.

On bringing the phone House, I loaded & tried to insert my SIM 3. The phone still showed "Insert SIM" & "SOS only", as if it does not recognize my SIM card at all. I tried Optus SIM of my boyfriend & voila! He got network connectivity.

After calling TeleChoice back, I learned that it is the first time that staff have been equipped with a handset for outright sale which was actually still locked. They try to negotiate for the unlocking instructions to give to me, because there are not many of these devices autour yet, so they can't replace it. Apparently, their responsible State Optus raised the issue with their team IMEI Back Office, who took my details to work with BlackBerry to get an unlock code.

Unfortunately, this process takes some time, as the State Manager is in meetings all day & cannot work constantly on my problem. So, I tried to call Optus & BlackBerry to explain the situation and see if I can't fix something myself.

5 employees Optus from different teams I talked last night, noone know a way to unlock the phone for me, a non-Optus account. BlackBerry 24/7 Support line looked like an oasis on the horizon, but then I could not go to anyone because I didn't have a ticket code!

I really hope someone here can help me to get directly in touch with BlackBerry team!

Thanks in advance,

Sass

That's all I could think as a simple reason why this can happen too...

A took my phone to the nearest store of 3 an hour ago & they guy tried a few different, put SIMs in place it has not been tried my SIM card of any problem with the phone, & it worked? He didn't do anything differently than what I did the last few days, but for some reason, that it suddenly worked & I got a BB message saying that my phone had just been connected to the BIS.

Moral of the story? Be patient when dealing with new phones, I guess?

I am so relieved to use my new phone, this fourth day of equity.

I used another charger (nine) but still the same. I tried to plug it into my laptop for charging, but still not good. • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Bold 9900 (O2 UK network): App purchases fails

    Hi all

I'm new to this forum. I recently bought a used Blackberry Bold 9900 and using it for a few days. I'm with O2 UK. BIS service is enabled on my account, I set up all my personal email accounts and it's all working well. But when I am trying to buy the BB world App, I am faced with questions.

He asks the password ID BB and then nothing happens. The cursor starts renewable and it keeps going like that.

I had a Q10 before BB and when I used to buy apps, I was accused by O2 and it has been shown on the monthly statement. So I contacted O2 on this issue and after talking with them, they informed me that the application of the "load" which should be soon with the phone is missing and I need to contact Blackberry. For this reason, the O2 cannot load via the BIS service. I am confused and don't know what it means.

Otherwise I tried to manually set the payment method PayPal / credit by going to Options card-> payment and billing. It shows the payment method must be set up and there is a download link. By clicking on this link form the phone takes me to the error page that shows java exceptions. The link is

I wonder if you can help me on this.

Note 1: I am buying the app ShortCutMe.

NOTE2: Free Apps can be downloaded and installed without problems of anu. I tried "WhatsApp.

  • Battery blackBerry Smartphones new Bold 9900

I had a Bold 9900 since April 2012, the battery life is incredibly short and my patience with it begins to match.  For example, it has been completely charged at 0930 this morning, and at 5:50, the battery has now a quarter left.

I closed off the internet, my apps are disconnected, there is nothing out of the ordinary, I do not understand what is happening.  It has been like that since day 1.  At first I put it down to me using th ephone so much because it was my 'new toy' but now I rarely pick it up.  I lost it today for 4 hours then had no use what so ever, but the battery is still almost flat!

At this point, I warn everyone away from the phone. Someone has any ideas why this is happening, or is it the standard?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    PAM

    Hey there!

Make sure you do the update to version 7.1. Then go into Options > device > battery-saving Mode. Make sure that "Turn On Battery Saving Mode when the battery is low" is checked on. The check 'Start when the battery is at or falls below' is set to 'always on.'

I had the same problem as you, I even bought my 9900 in April 2012 too. He would die before the day is done. Since I've updated, get at least two days, a year and a half of autonomy. Last time I charged my phone was Friday morning and I'm 43% at the moment (Saturday afternoon).

    Hope this helps!

so I have to turn off my phone and turn it back on and then I can place my call.

Can someone please help me solve this problem?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Bold 9900 and 9720 cannot find the enterprise activation

    Hi all

I'm trying to set up an Enterprise Activation for one of our users overseas. She has two phones 'BB Bold 9900 and BB 9720'.  It doesn't have the enterprise activation option.  I asked him to download the activation request to company "App World", but after downloading, he said that the software is not supported. Here, I'm puzzled.

Currently I set him up with Exchange Activesync, but it is my understanding that will not synchronize calendars and contacts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

First of all, ActiveSync will not work on a Bold 9900 or 9720. You need BES to use Activation of the company.

Second, service of many plans you need for a BES plan for Enterprise Activation menu. You will need to make sure that his wireless service plan supports BES. Many are personal plans only, and EA is not supported.

    Hope that helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blackberry support community

BBM 7.0.0.123 can't read (unsupported) n emotican of character text

On this basis, I would deduct instead is the BBM message you receive contains characters of a language that you have not installed for your BB. For example, they send Russian characters, but you do not have Russian language installed on your BB, then your BB don't then interpret and display characters and replaces those black boxes in their place.

If you know the language that is sent to you, you can try to install on your BB... do it, start by taking a full and complete backup of your BB... you can find instructions in the link in my sig auto on this post.

    Then, learn this:

    • KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

That will guide you when you choose the packages of BB OS to install on your BB via the following procedure.

Please visit this official download portal as you go along. If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. After installing the operating system on your PC package, please remember to remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Don't forget that you remove, since your PC, any other BB OS devices as packages with more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry support insists that STV100-1 does not support the China Mobile HK?

Then I go to Hong Kong right now with my Priv, using a prepaid of China Mobile Hong Kong that I've used with my classic. Noticed that I can not make calls with it so I called BlackBerry charge to open a support case.

    I noticed two things:

-I am able to receive a 4G signal

-Whenever I make a call, network goes to no Service. I also can't find any network if the phone is set on 2G or 3G only

-I can not receive calls, it keeps saying number not reachable, as if the phone was turned off

-In the phone app, my number is listed as unknown.

After a lot of troubleshooting with the support rep, she argued that my private does not support the China Mobile HK, which doesn't seem wise. I'm temporarily using the card with a backup of Telus/Koodo G4, while my private does not work, and it works fine.

    Priv STV100-1 supports:

    • FD - LTE 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, 29, 30
    • HSPA + 1, 2, 4, 5/6, 8

    H812 G4 Telus LG support:

    • FD - LTE 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17
    • HSPA + 1, 2, 4, 5/6

China Mobile uses UMTS and LTE 3/7 1/8. This is why don't the Priv actually be MORE supported? I ' n suspect a hardware issue yet I can't seem to convince management of the case.

Okay, BlackBerry RMAing my device now, so I guess that's it.

  • Behavior odd of Smartphones blackBerry - supported hourglass!

Recently the performance of the unit is odd; almost unusable.  Each click on the keyboard or the menu causes the hourglass display and run a disturbingly long period of time.  Miss me calls because my hourglass turns and can't do it before they cling.  If I click on the menu, I can enter 2-3 steps and wait... walk for 20 minutes and come back to caught up.  I want to throw it against the wall!  Have tried several times to reset (battery pull), but it still restarts problem.  Deleted some apps, still prob.  What is to do?

    Hello

While you 'erased a few apps', you did in an orderly fashion? Specifically, all that was installed just before the start of the behavior would probably be candidate.

Another approach is to reload your own OS and then slowly install your add-on apps, allowing sufficient time between installs in order to know with certainty that the behavior is not. Once the behavior starts, you know your culprit.

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

    Good luck!

  • My BlackBerry Bold 9900 questions blackBerry smartphones! Bluetooth, clock, battery, security

I just bought my BB Bold 9900 last Friday (January 6) and my provider is MTS. I have problems with my phone.

But first, let me say that I am a TIME BlackBerry user FIRST and I could do something wrong or I didn't have the correct settings. But I'd appreciate any help!

First, the battery life is much too short! After the initial charge (charged from one day to the next), the battery did not last me until noon the next day. I pay it full once I got home, and then I noticed that the battery life was longer now. I guess that it would improve after a little cooler. I think that the battery needed a kind of start-ups before it becomes fully functional. In any case, this problem seems to be resolved, for now.

Second, my phone has problems with the security lock code / password. I have install a locking password to prevent someone from simply to check the contents of my phone. It's OK at first, but after a while, the phone seems to be "forget" to ask for my password. I just press the lock/release button and I have access to my home page without entering the password. I kept checking security settings to see if the password is "on", it is. For me, it's a major security problem!

Thirdly, the zone time/clock settings seems to be incorrect. I'm from Winnipeg, MB, Canada and I use Central time, but the time that the phone is displaying is incorrect. Like the weather here in Winnipeg is 10:00, but in the phone, it's 04:00! Even if I fixed my phone and set up the time manually, the time that appears on my emails is always incorrect and inaccurate. And I couldn't find my clock anywhere icon. I looked in the applications folder, and it isn't here!

Finally (I hope this is the last problem with my phone), I have problems of bluetooth. I tried to send a picture from my Mac to my BB via bluetooth, and it worked fine. But when I tried to send a picture that I took the camera from my BB to my Mac, it wouldn't send! I checked the blutooth connection many times (Mac to BB, BB to Mac, they are fine) I have and found that the settings are correct and devices are discoverable and connected, so I don't really know what to do. This phone is really frustrating.

I have an urgent plan to unlock my phone for use on a different network, but I can't do it now because of these problems. I really want to have a Blackberry (before I bought and did not yet know the problems) I want a RELIABLE PHONE, rather than choosing an iPhone which for me is a TOY. But I am really disappointed with this phone. I begin to fear that this would be as reliable as I expected it would be, and he'd let me down just when I needed it most!

I'd appreciate it really all the help I could get and tips for the first time BB users. Thank you!

My phone works OK now. I guess I could remedy all by myself! What a relief.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BLACKBERRY MESSENGER Please HELP!

    Hello world

I recently bought the new Bold 9900 on Bell Mobility and I found a few flaws on the phone itself. I went back to the store, they said, it will be replaced, but they ran out of stock.

So, my problem is, is that I have a lot of people on BBM. These contacts are very important and I can't lose. I support my contact list on my memory card before I move to my new camera, all are saved? If so, once I have restore backup of BBM on the new device, all my contacts will receive a notice to add? I really hope someone can help me. Ive been listening to people for their pins and I do not wish to disturb once again the week next to their secret codes.

In addition, question #2, is BBM in the world? Then will I pay if I left my current country to visit another and continue to use BBM?

If anyone can help, please reply to this post, pin me to pin: 2829333E or email me at [email protected].

Thank you very much in advance!

    So answering your first question.

If you save either your phone through desktop software or go to BBM and click on backup and save it to your media card and then you get your new device, it will be restored on the new device.

Here's the article on backup and restore contacts

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/kb20554

Second question. Yes BBM is all over the world, but it uses the data from the carriers, so if you are traveling to other contrys being aware that you use roaming data which costs very expensive, unless you change your plan when you travel.

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900 not saved the network of Blackberry smartphones

    Hello

I have Blackberry data services with my provider of Meteor, and that they worked with my previous Blackberry 9900. I had to replace it and bought a second-hand 9900, which was a feature of company on the Vodafone network. I have unlocked it and I am able to use the SIM for calls and connect to the internet via wifi, but I'm unable to activate Blackberry internet services. Host Routing Tables are empty and I can't save. In addition, in the e-mail settings, I get only the ability to create a company account.

I did a full factory reset and I tried to save the Tables in routing host several times but nothing happens.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

Start here please... you did some, but not all, these necessary things:

    • Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

    In addition, please check this:

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

If there is a COMPUTER policy, please will then this:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Finally, after all that, with a strong network carrier (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then again please contact your mobile provider for formal support. Please ask him to check very carefully as to why your BB cannot receive BIS of their network. There are several possible reasons (e.g., lost or stolen), and you will have to convince them to 'dig deeper' to understand why. Be aware that only they can do this research... nobody here has any access to this research.

    Good luck!
