Smartphones blackBerry curves in memory cards

I had originally used a 2 GB micro sd card and tried to upgrade to an 8 GB card, but when I formatted it, he only showed a 3.6 GB available. Are all their available upgrades to my phone supports 8 GB?

Version of the OS on the device depends on the capacity will be available. You can check that by going to Options | Topic (will appear as v4.x.x.xxx). Please see the following article for supported SD cards sizes: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461

    Hello tintintin23,

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or during loading or if the applications are running in the background. If we hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will open a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. run in the background.

Also always try to properly close the Applications - avoid using the end key to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. Check and see if any application is responsible for the problem.

Question of observation on our BlackBerry battery cover them charge, are lithium-ion battery it won't take too long to load, it can reach a full charge (100%) within 2 hours. If your camera takes too long while you have connected to a wall outlet has a good and constant power. Or you can visit your service provider to check if this is a hardware failure.

Hi, I recently bought a BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone. I want to transfer music from my computer to the BlackBerry files. I have already installed the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. But even after I connect the BlackBerry to the USB port of my PC, when I click on "Media Manager" in the Desktop Manager, a message appears saying: "Media Manager is only supported using a USB connection, to run the Media Manager, please connect your device to your computer via a USB cable.

I can check all of the above, except for the drivers USB BlackBerry. Can someone tell me where I can download it? Moreover, I did not have a SIM card, I do not know if that plays a role in the present.

    Thank you in advance.

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Have a SIM won't matter for what you are wanting to do.

    1. make sure that you are connected to a main REAR usb port, not a USB port on the front or a usb hub.

    2. one. Go to Options > Media Card
(some themes or BlackBerrys can call this ' settings > Media Card ")

    b. check the following parameters (if they are that way, then changes according to the following:)

    • Media card support: on
    • Mass storage Mode support: on
    • Auto enable mass storage: Yes

    c. save the settings and exit

  • Problem of storage Application Smartphones blackBerry (Curve 9380)

Guys am very frustrated about this problem...

all applications that I download are downloaded into the memory of the phone due to which my laptop starts slowing down due to lack of memory.

Please guys tell me how I can move my apps on memory (8 GB) card rather than saving on the phone memory.

    thnk you

Hello and welcome to the community!

The quick answer is that you can not... apps can reside in the AppMemory space, and the amount of AppMemory in each device is attached during the manufacturing process and can never set.

    The long answer is...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Curve (8330 Verizon) has spinning hourglass

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon, a month ago. It is configured with a Blackberry Enterprise Server to my work. A few weeks ago, I woke up one morning to a spinning hourglass. Applications seem to work and I could make calls. However, everything was really slow. I tried connect to Verizon for a software update. That did not help. Then, I tried a few resets hard (removal of the battery). That did not work also. The boot has taken longer than usual and I found myself with spinning hourglass each time. I called Verizon and they said that I had to wipe the device and try again.

I wiped it and then set up all my accounts e-mail again. Then I got the email people send me a different password to set up the connection with MS Exchange. Everything seemed fine for a few weeks. Then, this morning, I found the same thing. I tried a few resets hard. One thing I also noticed this time is that if I try voice component, the application says "during initialization... "and then to block the phone. And all that is using the CPU is also drain the battery. My battery is at 45 percent four hours after I took it off the charger.

When I spoke to Verizon this time they told me they would send me a new phone. I will try this, but to be honest, that I'm not sure that's the problem. I suspect the buggy software. It's really frustrating. Surely, there must be a way to solve exactly which process is this?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention third-party applications, that I installed. I don't like cluttering up the Blackberry with many extras as I am not very confident when it comes to the quality of the software. Here's what I've got there:

    * - TellMe

    * - Client AIM (downloaded on RIM)

    * - Update Facebook client

    * - Opera browser

There are a lot of memory (more than 55%) when I check the status display.

I have a memory card of 4 GB installed with some MP3 and photos. The card has 3 GB free.

    Any suggestions?

I had this problem 3 times.  The 3rd time the tech at verizon from disabling applications.  When we turned the hourglass on facebook went.  Touch wood, but my phone has not started to act up again again.  It's been 3 days now and everything is good so far.  If he does so since tomorrow, it will be the longest, it worked with the hourglass turning upward.  The tech said that he had seen a few times so far and on each of them noticed we all used facebook, so he tried and so far it works.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Curve 8900 Media - music player

I'm totally frustrated of not being able to solve a problem with playback of music to my Blackberry Curve.

I copied and recopied approximately 2 GB of music four different moments of the curve.  I can play music from the cumbersome Menu > Explore > Media Card > Blackberry > music path (I have a memory card of 4 GB installed).  Which only allows you to listen to one song at a time, and you press the buttons about 5 just started the next song.

It just drives me crazy when I go to the menu music to enjoy the amazing features of curved IPOD type such as shuffle, Album, and song lists, nothing is there!  I ask Shuffle, and no song happens to all.  It must be a simple solution, but I can't lose all try more time to understand it... so far my efforts have resulted in NO progress.

I would be very grateful to get this little piece of advice to solve my problem.  I have Roxio Media Manager installed and just uploaded the 2 GB of music to the curve for the 4th time through Roxio.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated.

Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected.
    Thank you

  • Smartphones blackBerry 4.1 MEMORY BOOSTER

Hey, I got a Blackberry Curve 8530 and recently installed the Memory Booster v 4.1 which is I love this aoplication, but not really sure of the settings I should use. In the menu of this application. It reads 'Best practices' for preserving battery YOU MUST use this setting "auto boost - YOU, Boost - every 15 minutes and pushed - when memory is less than 10%..." OK, I can see stimulate every 15 minutes if I spent my whole day online doing business but I did not. I use my BBerry for music and a bit of surfing online throughout the day. Is there anyone who could explain it to me or give me some parameters of reasonable boost for someone who only uses for recreation purpooses. Or have I misunderstood this app? I am a fairly new bberry user. In the journal of the thrust of the app, there is also the option "EXPORT to a CSV FILE"... What is a CSV file and when I use it? Thank you people here to help realize my bberry experience AWESOME. If it wasn't for this forum, I'd be a crazy user. Thanks again!

Propeller memory restores the device performance when running low on memory, running that he every so often can improve your BB experience on device that do not have a lot of free RAM left.

some of the troubleshooting logs can be transformed into a CSV file (Excel can open these) that you can archive on the MicroSD card.
