Smell of smoke

Hello world

I have a huge problem with my Compaq Presario CQ61. Just as I bought it when I start it, it gives a strange fan left smoke smell. The smell causes me headaches, and I don't even know if it's really smoke, but it seems. Everything works fine on the PC, I also followed the temperature with Everest, but they are all around 30 ° and 50 °.

I don't know what there is on the left side of the laptop, of course not RAM, HARD, Wifi and DVD disc. The guarantee went because I lost the receipt. What can I do? Please help, thanks,

Francesco, of Italy.

  • Laptop 2000: use the laptop with battery removed

Is it often advisable to conserve battery life by removing the battery whenever you have access to electricity? For example others only more often use their laptops on the inside, it's a good habit to remove the battery?
Also, made a direct power use when the battery is removed likely to affect the performance of the system or cause damage to the hardware components, D.C.
I ask because I've always liked running 3D applications when using my laptop at home. I use so to remove my battery when its completely charged. I recently met a smell of smoke the fan light but I didn't not take seriously because I couldn't feel it again thereafter. A few weeks back my laptop has plenty of the charging port and would not load or show indicator when charger is inserted. I tested the charger with another machine and it worked perfectly.

There is no increase in current. Laptops are designed such that the same current is supplied to the motherboard if the power adapter or the battery is used as an energy source. Issues of seizure of power almost always goes back to physical trauma as the connector is twisted or stuck in then just inserted.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1217: Smoke when printing

What impression of this printer started smoking the crack where the printed paper emerges. I have turned off the machine and I'm worried about its use. There is no smell of burning smoke very well. What is the problem? I got the machine second hand, but it worked fine for two years until this week.

If you do not feel the smoke, then it is possible that you have paper in the printer that has too much moisture inside.

Paper can absorb moisture from the air if he is sitting in a damp place to his oar sealed. Absorption may occur relatively quickly in a very wet environment and over time in the same slightly damp environment.

Since there is no smell that is likely to steam, I would recommend that you go buy a new ream of paper and try to print and see if the steam is gone.

The printer has a thermal protection in the future to avoid overheating, and may not run quite hot to set fire to paper. Fuser works pretty hot to vaporize water.

  • What to do about white smoke, whispy from slot where paper comes out?

After a false paper jam message (sticky humidity and only partially left paper tray), the printer prints whispy thin, but thin, white smoke comes out with the printed sheets. I don't know if there is a smell that I have little sense of smell.

    Help!

Printer is a Laser Jet 1020 purchased in 2004

It's likely to steam (steam) of wet paper and not a source of concern.  For more information, see the page here .

  • iPhone 3GS water drop smell of Nail Polish

    Hi all!

I recently had the misfortune to put my iPhone 3GS (Opaque) glass that had water in it. I was playing music and trying to amplify them. He had no water in it, but the speaker stopped in a few seconds and I realized what happened. I took out the camera quickly and dry. The speaker took over the audio playback, but to be sure, I broke off the unit. I started to suck on the ports as people say to do and was overwhelmed by a heavy- like smell Nail Polish. It was really bad, and I hung up, afraid that it was going to explode. As I said, the telephone continued to work normally after I took it out less the smell, but I stopped him. I put it in the rice a few minutes later, and it seems to be not explode... advice? Thank you!!!

    -Vintage_PC

    Update:

Wow, I feel stupid. The glass was rubbing alcohol, which gives it the smell of nail polish. I'm still leaving rice, but at least I know that my phone is not going to melt in my hand.

  • Smoke out of my Satellite Pro A300

    Toshiba Satellite A300 Pro PSAGCC - 06H 019

During the few weeks when I raise the LCD display of the closed position while in hibernation mode the display lights not. It's charge to the top of the home screen with user profiles. All lights are on and I can hear the fan working, but the screen remains blank.

I noticed that when the screen is 90 degrees upward, and I made the move a little further, it then "wake up" the computer from hibernation and it starts. Looks like a 'switch' which is supposed to perform this function does not work correctly when the LCD cover attaches to the base of the keyboard.

Two times now, while trying to turn the computer on the smoke came out of the right and the "joint" all performing the action above. The first time it happened I immediately pulled the plug of the AC adapter. Thinking that it was fried I started it upward and surprisingly it worked fine. It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the other laptop and then smoke and the problem with not starting not properly.

Any suggestions? Its well past warranty.

    > Any suggestions?
My suggestion for you: don t do all the experiments with your laptop. Don t turn on more and contact the nearest authorized Toshiba service provider as soon as possible.

  • Satellite A300 sizzling and crackling of smoke

    Hi guys

My apologies in advance for my noobishness. I've had a satellite A300 for a few years now. In the last 2 days I heard a cracking sound, almost static - like noise on the side of the A300. Aside, I mean specifically the part which is a kind of metal grid - as you type, the left side, the silver metal Rack that is covered by 'sticks' plastic and conforms / spans the esc, numbers, and tab keys. Sorry for that horrible description!

Anyway - if I heard this noise, and today I opened it from its sleep and went on Mozilla and the sizzle is gone a bit messy, and what looked like dust, or at worst, smoke, was issued by the grill. I quickly turned off and shut it down.

It does not freeze, or now or touch the grid, it was not very hot. He has not extinguished automatically either. I turned back on it and began to Mozilla and iTunes as a test and the grill has started making a loud, grinding and bad-sounding sound of Purring. No show this time, but I turned off.

It should be noted - my battery was very low during the past 18 months and I need the laptop on the charge to use it. Although he is in charge, the battery was on 27 percent when I turned it off. When using, my cell phone is always on the charge and Hi performance. Any ideas what it is / what I need to do? Thank you!

    Hello

In my opinion the laptop s internal cooling and grids of modules, including the cooling fans should be cleaned.
Generally and jet of compressed air should be good enough to get the dirt and debris removed, but I don't very well if this is useful in your case of m.

I mean your description sounds odd question, and I think that the laptop needs to be cleaned professionally.

So I recommend you visit some city centre of technicians for laptop or the Toshiba ASP in your country to get this cooling module cleaned in most cases, this procedure is delicate because the laptop must be disassembled so don t recommend this at home because of the risk of damaging the material.

    Hello!

I have a laptop Equium A60 and today, while using it I heard a noise 'dry', accompanied by a strong smell of burning. The PC also stop and 'popping' continues for a few minutes.

The case and the battery have been cool and since I was able to restart the machine and use access files, burn on CD and internet access so it seems to work OK, but my question is what happened? Someone at - it ideas, which went pop and caused the machine to stop?

    Hello MrBump

I put t know how old your laptop is all why this happen. Please contact the service partner and let check the device. All of a sudden shutdown is especially the reaction if the unit is not properly cooled.

To prevent damage more equipment allow control of the device. If the warranty is still valid, it will cover all costs if there is a hardware malfunction.

  • Smoke coming vents of HP P1102W after non-use

Hi, I have a HP P1102W laser printer. When I bought in November, it tested fine. I then did not use until very recently. When I printed, clear smoke came out of the vent at the top of the page for the first few pages. Then it has been fine since.

    Should I be worried?

    Thank you!

    Hey mileena.

It is very probably steam or moisture produced in the printing process.  Here is some information of the document found here.

    Cause:

Heat and humidity, created by the printing process dissipate through the vents at the back of the product, or by an internal fan. Moisture can sometimes appear on the trailing edge of the book on jobs in small print.
