  I have a Toshiba Satellite C650D-12J which has recently been ravaged by a virus and now refuses to start. Whenever he tries to boot into Windows, it restarts and blue screens.

  I ordered the Toshiba recovery media as the most simple solution is to recover the laptop and restore the default settings.

  I just bought Satellite A200-1UP... now I have a problem in the bottom of the Fn. When I press on the iron tool isn't coming down from the top of the screen as usual. I don't know why. Although it worked normally... just sudden do not appear... but it remains active with brightness keys and etc... except the key to Tablet do not answer...

  I tried several times... but still does not the pleasure...

  Is someone can you please tell me why it does not appear as before or how can solve this problem?

  The problem is that I can not boot from a cd, because the BIOS is configured to boot from the hard drive first.

  I get into the BIOS. I read on a few websites on the net than on machines 5xxx Satellite, you can only enter the bios through windows! ..., BUT windows does not work so I can't enter the bios. I can't even use the Windows installation CD when I boot, because once again the HD is set to boot first.

  When I press ESC while turning on the laptop and then press F1, I have the option load default BIOS values. I did, but the HD is still set to start first!

  What I can do... I can't reinstall windows or get into regedit to fix the paper / log problem!

  Hi Jamie,

  Normally, you can select a boot device selection menu when you turn on your laptop. You can do this by holding down the F12 key when you turn on. Hold it down until the phone beeps or the device selection menu appears.

  If this does not work then you can try the shortened Toshiba habit that is to hold the 'C' button in the power that would then cause the laptop to boot from the CD drive. Of course, there must be a bootable CD inserted first.

  Have had a new Satellite P750 for 2 weeks. Some intermittent problems, wireless modem connection - now no link at all. Connects to the modem with "limited activity" - so no internet.   This laptop was reformated HARD drive and I decided to try Windows 7 (beta), which is currently installed and working well. I would like to install the original drivers and applications from the Toshiba recovery disc but I don't want to reinstal the operating system (XP). Is this possible?

  As far as I know that is not possible because applications from the recovery disk and drivers are for Windows XP and they are not compatible with Windows 7.
  In addition it of not possible to install the only special drivers or applications from the recovery disc.

• Satellite L750 - impossible to recover anything from the CED

  I have a Satellite L750. I called and received advice from TS.

  I had suspected a virus and I wanted to restart from my CD that I created when I initially set the lap top up (I'm told that they are something of the image). I've learned to save and explained how to do this (I'm not warned technology; I know how to use the laptop for what I need, and that's all).
  So I followed the procedure given by TS and made a back up it took quiet some time.

  I contacted TS say again and again I have the CD I did again and I would like to save.
  I followed the steps for me: hold the '0' key push down the on/off switch and wait - then follow the steps on the scree for 32 or 64 bit, and some hand it the WARNING came up... it happened and then it seems to restart.

  When I asked help how really anything restart after that that it was not the support of security - and now I am unable to fix anything of the ERC myself nor I am able to recover something in the file 'back up' I - I made two more distinct (just in case).

  I would like to know if I can recover/reinstall/import/use / copy the CD information
  I did like the thing of the image

  AND

  How can I restore/reinstall/import/use/copy my files from this file backup that always asks me to 'restore' when I chose never - and even after this more than 4 times I have no files?

  I'm not at all intuitive in this area; I really tried to look on the internet without success...

  advice advice or info would really appreciate at this point, I tried to solve this problem since 08:05 Queensland times today (Friday 16.12.2011)

  Maybe it sounds silly now, but it is not easy to help with this. I think either it works or not.

  Very portable can be recovered on two tracks:
  -with the help of HARD drive recovery option (recovery image is saved on the HARD drive)
  -using the created the CD or the DVD

  If you use zero initially to the top, I guess you portable non-European. In any case try please to created once using more disks.
  -Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu
  -put the recovery disk 1 into the optical disc drive
  -in the start menu, choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER

  Optical disc drive will start to read the disc and you have to do is follow the menu on the screen.

  Who is normal behavior that the HARD drive makes sounds while working.
  On some disks, the sound is louder and some drives are quieter.

  My laptop comes with a 100 GB HARD drive and I noticed that this HARD drive work harder than the previous 40 GB HARD disk.

  I don t think that there might be a problem with your HARD drive. It of new.
  So, in my opinion you should t be worried.

  and if the HARD drive is going to die your warranty covers the replacement ;)
