Snapshot TIME?

Are there features of snapshot for vApps in vCloud Director?  What happens if I wanted to test something with a group of virtual machines or a single VM in a vApp, go back, and I had no access to the vSphere Client?  Is there a similar functionality as that of snapshots in vSphere?

Unfortunately not. I hope that it will be available in a future release. The only option and it's not great, I can think of is to make a hot clone via the use of the API. There is a guide to the conduct of this orchestrator which should point you in the right direction but this isn't really a snapshot than a backup http://www.vcoteam.info/learn-vco/vcloud-director-vapp-hot-clone.html.

  • Calculate the correct/snapshot time

    We have statspack runs every 10 minutes - so there's a fresh snap_id STATS$ SNAPSHOT to (for example) 10:00, 10:10, 10:20, 10:30 and so on.

    When there is a problem with the database, was asked to calculate various statistics immediately, as well as to display the corresponding statistics of the time equivalent a week ago. Of course, the problem could arise in (say) 10:12. So I sort of know that I would be interested in snapshots 10:10 and 10:20 last week.

    I can't just around my current sysdate for the next 10 minutes, however, because some databases could take regular pictures every 20 minutes, every hour or every half hour.

    So is there a generic part of SQL that would take my current sysdate, look at his STATS$ SNAPSHOT and train dynamically what are the two correct snapshots in use from around the same time a week previously, please? The rule simply being you get back exactly 7 days, then will find two clichés of the time closest to the combination current hour/minute.

    (Yes, on a database where the snapshots are taken every hour, if it is 10:12, I would be interested in snapshots of 10:00 and 11:00; if photos have been taken average about half an hour, I would look to find the 10:00 and 10:30; and if they are taken every 10 minutes, I'd be trying to find the 10:00 and 10:20 ones).

    Hello

    To find the nearest snap_times before and after the point exactly 7 days before the date d:

    SELECT     MAX (CASE WHEN snap_time <= d - 7 THEN snap_time END)     AS prev_snap_time
    ,     MIN (CASE WHEN snap_time >= d - 7 THEN snap_time END)     AS next_snap_time
    FROM     stats$snapshot
    ;

    If it is found be a line exactly 7 days before, then that date will be returned as prev_snap_time and next_snap_time.
    Once you know the exact time of pick up, you can get the values of those moments.

    I hope that answers your question.
    If not, post a small example of data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) for all of the tables involved and the results desired from these data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get these results from these data.
    Always tell what version of Oracle you are using.

  • Change the snapshot time

    Hello

    I have to Instant Set for every 30 minutes to occure.

    Please help me how can I change snapshot to occur every 30 minutes instead of 1 h as in my database and also check for the current interval.

    Thank you

    Aman

    Hello

    you mean AWR snapshot interval, so yes, you can use dbms_workload_repository.modify_snapshot_settings

    You can check this link:http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/automatic-workload-repository-10g.php

  • Maintenance of the snapshot

    Is there a way to maintain 5 shots on a virtual machine. Rather than letting the snapshots continue to use space on the lun? I want to automate snapshots through tasks in vcenter, but I don't want to just let instant.

    Nope - here are vmx-parameters - add you to the vmx file directly

    rollingTier0.displayName = 'keep 5 '.
    It's the nom_snapshot that appears in the vmsd file

    rollingTier0.interval = '86400 '.
    ... This defines the time between snapshots in seconds - very vague!

    rollingTier0.live = 'true '.
    ... This active rollingTier = snapshot-timer - if you choose false nothing will happen

    rollingTier0.maximum = '5 '.
    ... This defines the number of snapshots to keep
    5 means that your vm will create up to snapshots in the range of the name - 000001.vmdk - name - 000006.vmdk
    name - 000006.vmdk will only exist during consolidation

    WARNING: use with care - as much as I know, this is a completely undocumented feature - and therefore probably also completely not supported!

  • OSX does not boot sequence make

    Hello

    I have a MBP 15 "(early 2011). I7 2.2 GHz, 16 GB at 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM and it runs OSX El Capitan 10.11.3 Version.

    A few years ago I have moved the "old" SATA HDD to DVD Bay using an adaptation set and installed an SSD as drive system (and added a few extra memory in the process). Everything worked perfectly up to one month, when all of a sudden, he didn't get through the startup sequence after you enter the system password. The process indicator basically stopped at around 60%.

    Using virtually all options to restart the Mac as explained here (randomly): combinations of keys start for Mac - Apple Support , I was able to recover the system, every time, but after a few days or even a week the problem occurs again.

    Some details of the event and recovery:

    -Mac just stops and restarts

    -You here the start-up tone and see the Apple logo

    -Enter the password for the user

    -Indicator process stops at 50-60%

    Recovery process (do not know which of the following actions really toured well (or which combination / sequence!).) After each attempt to start, I have to do a hard reset using the power button.

    -Try boot in SafeMode (screen remains white)

    -Single user (screen stays white and you hear fan noise)

    -Reset NVPRAM (no difference)

    -Don't start with 'Diagnostic test of the internet' - no defect found during extensive testing

    -Start in verbose mode (machine hangs after that "nspace-Manager-set-snapshot-time" will appear on the screen)

    -Try to boot from USB key (screen stays white and you here the fan noise) to OSX bootable

    -Start in safe mode (it then actually starts in SafeMode as expected)

    -Do a reboot of the 'normal' system (result: MBP starts normally as it should)

    Only yesterday (after the start in normal mode) the screen and the MBP froze showing this (actually using the Console application):

    BTW - I did not see this during one of the other occurrences, so I don't know if this is purely related to my main problem.

    My questions (and shout for help :-):)

    -Is this someone has an idea what may be the issue and how to confirm this?

    -In what files newspapers could / should seek to find the culprit (assuming that something related to this is actually connected)?

    -What other tests / scenario could I try?

    Thank you very much in advance for any help, comments or suggestions!

    M!

    It looks like a hardware problem (graphics card). This year 2011 many Mbps this error, he even had a repair action going. I'm not sure that this action is still running. Check with Apple.

  • Crash report process blocking my mac

    Recently, I installed Arq Backup, and every time I leave my mac download (save) the night when I go back in the morning:

    -The "crash report" uses a lot of CPU and memory;

    -I can not open any application;

    -I can not save any file on the disk (desktop, documents, etc.);

    -My only solution is to restart my mac;

    After the reboot, I checked the disk and partition using disk utility, and it's all good with the disc.

    This last night before going to bed, I closed all Applications that where open and I left the console open with 'System request log' > 'All Messages' and the hit 'clear view', I also left the "activity monitor" open to see what was going on in the morning.

    MacBook Pro (15-inch late 2008), OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), 8 GB RAM

    When I came home in the morning, I got this on the activity monitor:

    The startup disk is a failure, or there is another fault of internal material.

    Back up all data on the disc immediately if you do not have a current backup. There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional - ask if you need advice.

    An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.

    If privacy is a concern, delete the partitions of data with the ability to write zeros * (do it only if you have at least two backups complete, independent, and you know how to restore on a blank disc from any one of them.) Do not delete the recovery partition, if it is present.

    Keep your confidential data safe during the repair of the equipment

    Apple recommends that you remove permission to a device in the iTunes store before serving.

    I need free space in my Mac Air

    I used "about my Mac' and TI - s telling me I have 40 GB as backup, but I can't find with ODS (OmniDiskSweeper)

    ODS tells me I have just 30-40 GB busy.

    I can find a way to release the backup file?

    I m also helps TimeCapsule and back up there it's only 30-40 GB (as the ODS is to find)

    appreciate the help

    It seems to me that you look at the Snapshots Time Machine:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204015

    You can ignore them.

    If they bother you, find the instructions to put out them here:

    Ciao.

  • new time machine snapshots copied to the old directory of the machine not recognized

    I had a time Capsule 2 TB which showered, and I started a new backup (a USB key) by mode Apple drive. It took me a while to return to deal with the old clichés left on my Time Capsule. I found nothing specific online to tell me how to deal with this, so I made a few decisions naïve. I've disabled the Time Machine, renamed my new store backup and copied over the old store backup on the new backup drive time Capsule. Then in a Terminal on the command line, I mvhad snapshot directories in the newly copied backup of the old backup store store renamed folder. NOTE: On this site, I learned about a Time Machine of assistance called bypasscommand, and I needed to use it to move the Flash files in the command line:

    $ sudo mv 2016-09-17-211302 /System/Library/Extensions/TMSafetyNet.kext/Contents/Helpers/bypass.

    .. /.. /Backups.BackupDB/MyMachine /

    At this point, I thought: well, now, I have all my old and new pictures in the active backup store on the local USB drive. Then I turned on the Time Machine, and the first backup failed:

    "An error occurred during the file copying. The problem may be temporary. If the problem persists, use disk utility to repair your backup disk. »

    Then I noticed that Finder shows only most original snapshots while in the Terminal, I see all snapshots using the ls command. All snapshots have the same names in fashion and the owner/group permissions. So, why don't Finder shows all snapshots and why is Time Machine unhappy?

    Given that I can't modify my own * post, here are the corrections and updates of the original:

  • How to take snapshots of two usb camera at the same time

    Hello

    I have a project where I have to take still photos of two usb camera at the same time repeatedly and save the in a particular direcltory. I am received using a camera by using "Camera Grab vi", but I can't make it work with 2 cameras, I use the flat sequence and 2 "Camerra Grab vi: with particular camera in a sequence, but each time when I run the program I get only pic of a camera, its seems a camera dominates the other.»

    Please is it possible to use the two camera simultaneously. Attached are the snapshot of my vi.

    Thank you

    Ankit G

    Looks like you are using the same reference at the same time grabbing the camera. The two camera snaps happen but the second camera clamp is written on the first so it seems alone is slam. Try to run the VI executiong highlighted arbitrary mode (select icon icons four bulb to the right of the button run on the schema). This will allow you to see the data stream. In order to get both of these Snap you'll need separate references. You can try to watch one of our examples in the example Finder OR give you some direction (LabVIEW > help > find examples > Browse tab > Input and Output material > IMAQdx > high level > Snap.vi). You can break the two cameras at the same time if you just copy this code and double of the code.
    (Note: If you change the examples, always save as copy in another location so that you do not save on the packed example)

  • What to do for the main database when a physical database ensures converts a standby time of the snapshot

    Hello

    Need of the primary database to implement the flashback database when a physical database ensures converts a standby time of the snapshot? Or something to do with the primary database? I find some documents this work to allow the return of flame for the primary databases, but I think that he didn't need to do.

    Thank you

    Best regards.

    I did recently, I have not configured flashback on primary, only configured in the standby mode. I converted the standby database and restored the changes after the test. Primary database continued to send archives to the standby site. Instant once converted into sleep mode, as mseberg mentioned overlaps with the sync state after starting MRP.

  • Help me to get my head around Time Machine/VMware fusion + Snapshots

    Well, then it seems that Time Machine under Leopard and snapshots (set to auto) are of a similar nature.  Time Machine is be all end all, or try to anyway.  I guess my question is double:

    1.) if Time Machine backs up everything: hourly, daily, weekly, etc.  Autosnapshots in VMware is an exaggeration?  Maybe it's just a personal decision, but I would like to hear comments on it so that I can make a more informed choice.

    2.) I have heard several different stories of Time Machine, not backup of virtual machines / support their place too often... it's what history on it?  I use the newer of the two: Fusion and Leopard.  All software are up to date.

    Please help me understand.  Thank you.

    First thing I want to mention is that I do not consider stereotypes as backup solutions because they are stored on the local drive. If the disk down both your virtual machines and snapshots are parties.

    In terms of time Machine, I've seen users have limited success. In general, I wouldn't recommend using Time Machine with VM as it will save all changes (once per hour). When the virtual machine is open it is constantly evolving. You can imagine what it's going to make your backup storage when Time Machine backs up your 20 GB VM every hour.

    My best and easiest solution is simply to drag and drop the virtual computer on an external drive from time to time. If you are more concerned with the information (documents, etc.) in the virtual machine and not the virtual machine, an automated way would be to Shard folders such as installation Documents and have Time Machine backs up those specific folders.

    I hope this helps.

    I now turn to StartedTime, but need your ideas.

    Answer submitted too early.  I added a control to find the snapshot object IDs match.  So now, even if I had multiple tasks that match in a second window of 60, I look @ result for the task to match with the snapshot, of that I'm looking.  As follows:

    $Task = get-VITasksFaster-body $VM - boot $Snapshot.created.addseconds(-60) - TimeType "StartedTime" - finish $Snapshot.created.AddSeconds (1) - Server $VIServer

    $Task = $Task | where {$_.result - eq $Snapshot.Id}
