Socket 10013 error
This has just begun. I have Vista on a HP machine, use windows mail. All right, EXCEPT that I no longer can I create or reply to messages. It hampers is in the Outbox with a message that says Socket 10013 error, error number: 0x800CCCDE. Does anyone have any ideas?

For the reception of messages, set the information of lisco for POP3 account. That works very well, as you indicate.
The outgoing information, you may not use information lisco, since you have not logged by them but by Comcast, so the outbound information should be the SMTP for Comcast news. Yes, under Tools | Accounts | Mail - account of lisco | Properties | Servers, set the 'smtp.comcast.net' SMTP Protocol, then check the box that says it requires authentication. But now you must authenticate Comcast on the outgoing and not lisco, then click on the settings button and then instead of using the same credentials as falling, set the username and password for your Comcast account. In this way, you use the lisco for the incoming username and the username for Comcast for the outgoing. Then under Advanced, set Port incoming lisco to 110 and set the outgoing to 465 with SSL checked.
It should work.

I have a dell inspiron 530 desktop w/Vista Basic. My computer was recentlly reset caused by a virus and since then factory settings worked great; However, I see a Winsock 10013 Permission Denied error when I try to download on a site I've used for years. Can I fix? Thank you peg

Impossible to send e-mail, Live mail error ox800CCC0e
I can receive but not send email in Live Mail. I get the Live Mail error 0x800CCC0e and socket 10013 error code. My ISP is Comcast and I can send and receive to Comcast.net. I contacted Comcast and they say that all is well in respect to my connections and referred me to Microsoft. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is difficult to be certain of your problem without seeing the full error message, but a reasoned guess says that you are still using port 25 for SMTP even if Comcast not have support for at least a year. Right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. On the servers tab, select my server requires authentication. On the Advanced tab, change the port to 587 outgoing mail server.
Delete all messages waiting for the Outbox (below the records of account in the folders pane), then dial a new test message with a single topic and send it to yourself. Post a new message in your response.

This message seems to indicate that it is a problem of Verizon, but are you sure it's not because the server name is misspelled? It says incomong.verizon.net , but I bet that is incoming. lequipetv.fr
