  Follow the steps below and check if it solves the problem:

  1 open the Mcafee Virus and Spyware Protection software you are interested in, click on calendar and perform analyses. Click analysis in real time, and then click stop. Select until I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the button turn off.
  2. open the dialog box run by clicking on the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir%, and then click OK.
  3. type hpoins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
  4. type hpwins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
  5. start the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /Unregister. in the Run dialog box and click OK.
  6. launch the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC/REGSERVER in the Run dialog box and click OK.
  7. run the installation file and check all difference.

  8. After completing the two printers installattions rename the old file name extension to Dat and restart your PC.

  I have upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 (32 bit) and I was told that I had to update my drivers and software for my HP Photosmart C4680 printer to work with Pro 8.1. So I uninstalled all the drivers and software and even made a record of cleaning for you ensure that it has been uninstalled. I went to the HP support as suggested Pro 8.1 and proceed to download the software "compatible" and he went out and reached 99%, then disappear. I waited 15 minutes to see if he would have done to install and nothing happened. I did the Compatibility Test for it on 8.1 Pro and he says it's not compatible with 8.1.   Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you have recently upgraded your computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 and you want compatible software and download drivers for your HP PSC 2355 with the HP Director program.

  Now, because you're using a newer operating system with an old printer you install software and drivers by using the OS print driver, which means that there is no download available, but the driver was built into the operating system.

  To better understand, please have a look here: installation of the printer software in Windows 7 for a USB cable connection, regarding the HP Director, it is no longer available. You may be able to get some third party options that can be comparable.

• Cannot access Windows software for Information management. Windows XP Professional Windows 8 Pro upgrade will not work.

  It started a month or two ago when the print spooler has stopped working. 'Systems', or had no dependencies. It turns out that none of the services had dependencies, but everything still worked (except the print spooler). Then, I could not access "system information". I tried to restore to an earlier date, that wouldn't work. Tried to do a picture of Macruim Reflect - no luck there either.  My laptop works fine, although slow. Got the printer to work. This lack of progress, I decided I would just upgrade to windows 7, then decided to Windows 8. Me am upgrading of Windows 8 Pro: he went through "preparation" 100% of the screen. On the screen "Get The Latest" I tried 'install updates now' and 'no thank you', the results were the same. On the page "Check your system", he comes back: 'something has happened.   I need to re - install my photosmart b109a, because during the installation (from downloaded driver) I get the following error:

  Error 1311: Source not found file.

  Check that the file exists and that you can access.

  Obviously the file does not exist, but because I just downloaded the software fron the HP site it should be there!
