software updates to iOS

I've recently updated since an iPhone4s with iOS7 to an iPhone6s with iOS9.  I vaguely remember that in:

Setting > general > software update

There used to be an option to 'automatically' download updates (but not install).  From:

Update the software on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support iOS

It seems that the option is no longer available.  It seems that now you type 'Download and install' and then you have the option to install now or you can choose to install tonight or remind Me later.  Is it true that iOS downloads are is more "pushed" to you or am I missing something?  Not much else - everything just curious.

Javaliga, they are always driven. They were pushed both my iPhone and my iPad - when it is connected to power and Wi - Fi as you know.

How can I solve the problems created by the software update Apple iOS 9.3.2 lost all my music will not restore using itunes etc

What questions are you talking? Music of Apple, it's where you posted what you use? What music has been lost? It's all in your Apple's music. The rest should be in your iTunes library on your computer. I have almost 2K songs in my iTunes library and they have all been there since the very beginning, across all iOS and iTunes updates.

What happens when you try to restore your phone to iTunes? What it the music has to do with whatever settings you have for music and once again, depends on your participation with music Apple or any other service.

Try it please take a moment to build a question, describing what occurred, what device you use, what computer OS you use, and what troubleshooting steps you tried to correct. In addition, you use the services of Apple, and have you backed up your phone and your computer.

  • iTunes does not appear the option to check the iOS Software Update

I have a 6 more than 64 GB iPhone with iOS installed 9.3.5, laptop HP Windows 7 (SP1). The latest iOS updates bit (of IOS 8 or 9, I did "over the air" rather than connecting to iTunes on my laptop.)

This time, with 10 being released iOS and reading online on a certain number of iPhones in 'brick' update 'over the air', I decided to update by connecting via a USB/lightning cable to my laptop and iTunes.

When you open iTunes on the laptop by clicking on the device (iPhone) and the 'summary', she properly showed the current software on my phone (iOS 9.3.5), but no option for "check for updates". He also says "Connect this iPhone with a USB cable in order to update or restore it is a software", which seems strange, because it is connected via USB and is recognizing the version of iPhone software up-to-date and correct. After not being able to understand why, I have found also that iTunes 'control upgrade' says that v12.1.1 has been current. After some research online, I came across a Web site that shows iTunes was up v12.4.3 at the time of writing. Therefore, I went on Apple's site to update iTunes, as I couldn't do to in iTunes itself. I found that the latest version is 12.5.1.21 I downloaded and installed (without uninstalling the previous version first). Still the same problem. Then, I uninstalled this version latest and updated to iTunes on my laptop and reinstalled. Still the same problem.

I was able to 'Sync' and the phone to iTunes with no problem at backup.

    Can anyone help please?

I considered just take a chance and update the iphone software app 'Settings' of the phone with the ability to do a "restore" via iTunes on the laptop if I ran into problems. Then, however, I found that the button "backup restore" in iTunes was "greyed out" and not "clickable".

    Hi colboy58,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

If I understand your message that iTunes appears that a software update is available for your iPhone 6 Plus. Since iTunes showed previously that it was also updated, there is probably a problem with the security on your PC iTunes software to communicate with our servers.  Please follow the troubleshooting steps in the link below to get started:

Solve the problems between iTunes and third-party security software

    Take care.

  • Beta iOS provisioning profile but remove the software update still shows a update available

If I open the software update menu, then it shows that my iOS is updated.

Normally, resetting the device should solve the problem.

Reset: hold the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (10 to 20 seconds).

I've updated to the latest version of the software iOS overnight last night and now I can't access email on my iPad mini or Safari. When I go into settings, a notice is displayed under the general rubric that there is 1 available software update, but when I click on the link for the software update, it runs just endlessly. I am not able to connect to the WiFi (nothing happens when I click on the WiFi button). Did not have this kind of problem before. Thanks for any idea.

Hold the two for up to 30 seconds until you see the apple logo.

  • every time when I want to update my ios software. It shows the message "unable to verify update.w.

every time when I want to update my ios software .it shows the message "unable to check the updates.

    Try to update via iTunes.

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

Also, take a look at this thread:

    Unable to control upgrade

After completing the steps above, try to update your device once more.

  • Update to iOS 10 will require Apple ID?

Long story short, my Apple ID has been locked and I forgot all my security questions and there is no way to unlock. Last time I updated my iPhone software, before I could use my iPhone in the new update, I had to enter my Apple ID, due to his confinement, I had to contact Apple where find us the solution, and they managed to unlock my iPhone without the need of my enter my Apple ID. The only problem was that the process took about 4 weeks to 1 month so, technically, I could not use my iPhone for 1 month.

Now I really want to update my iPhone to iOS 10 5s, but I'm afraid, if it asks me to enter my Apple ID again, and I really don't want to go through 4 weeks of my iPhone is locked due to the problem of my Apple ID.

So, my question is, update to iOS 10 will require the Apple ID?

    Yes. It will be.

  • Cannot connect to Apple ID after update to iOS 10

You use an iPhone 6s, updated to iOS 10 yesterday. Immediately after the update, I found that I can not access the App Store, my music, or iTunes. There is no error message or prompt open a session my Apple ID, he said only: "loading" but never actually connects. Someone suggested a disconnection from the App Store through my settings so I tried. I've disconnected successfully but can not reconnect. I tried a dozen times to reconnect and one of the two following situations happens: I hit login and nothing happens or the prompt, I get my info and nothing happens. I rebooted/restarted my phone several times, connected on iTunes via my PC (successfully, but affects only not my phone) and put to update to iOS 10.0.2 but nothing never solved the problem. Help!

    Hi there, trekalong!

Thank you for joining the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you are having problems with the App Store. The good news is, there are a few items with steps, you can try to solve the problem. Read this article with the steps toforce a nearby app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This will allow you to close the application you are having problems with.

Then, check out this article with the steps to restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

The next thing you might want to try going in settings of the iPhone and then Reset. Once there, tap reset all settings. This will reset the settings of the iPhone, but does not erase personal information such as pictures, music or contacts. However, it will remove a connection Wi - Fi and VPN settings, so do not forget, you have these settings and passwords ready for iPhone upward starting.

If this does not work, it would be a good idea to make sure that there is not a problem of software as the cause of this for you.

  • Stuck on "Sync iPhone." what update to iOS 10

I have connected my iPhone 6 more to my PC using a USB cable. Through iTunes, I was warned that there was a new iOS update (10 9.3.5). I backed up my iPhone first (no problem), then says to download and install the update. The iTunes window says 'Preparing iPhone for the software update... "and there is a pop up in the front window that says"syncing iPhone. "with a green bar crossing.

He did this for a few minutes without any sign of progress. It doesn't seem to be a way to cancel. Is - blocked? If Yes, what can I do that wouldn't hurt my phone?

You must leave it to update. Walk and do something else. This is a major update may take a long time. A few minutes is simply not long enough to be concerned.

    See you soon,.
