    Hello everyone

I have a problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite A110 - 178 (PSAB0E). I replaced the original Intel 3945abg with Intel Link 5100 WIFI card and on the new wifi hardware wifi card switch does not work.

New wifi card is discovered and drivers to the correct job but when I try to search with the Intel Pro/Wireless software wifi networks I message to turn on hardware switch, but there light and not work. The old wifi card swich works OK - orange light is on. On the new map light is off and swich does not work.

    Help, please

    Hello

Do you have also enabled the WLAN functionality by pressing FN + F8?
    Check it!

In addition, I think the case is clear: the new wireless LAN card isn't compatible with Satellite A110.
So in my opinion, you must use remove the new card Intel and install the old card that works fine in your laptop.

  • Lenovo WiFi question and Standby / Hibernate problem

I have a Lenovo 3000 v200 laptop under Windows XP SP3 (recently retired).

It is fully updated with all Windows updates and updates from Lenovo and no change in

    material has been done.

I have two annoying problems. I searched the forum good responses

(many other users seem to suffer from similar problems) but no solution has been

    presented.

    1. my wireless connection works 95% of the time without problems.

But occationally the wireless fails to launch when I start the PC.

I have nothing bring WiFi on, only a reboot will solve

the problem. I tried to play around with the options available

via the WiFi software without success. Some networks are visible

even if the hardware and software WiFi switches are 'on '.

Device Manager does not indicate something wrong with the unit.

I saw this message several times: "battery wireless failed to launch.

Someone at - it a solution for this (restart to the exclusion, that is)?

2 standby does not work. When after a wait of some processes

You seem to lock up most of the resources of the system. One of the hearts

works at 100% load and the other is inactive. Research in the Task Manager

I see several processes competing for the top position in the CPU usage.

I get not a clear idea of this process is the problem, but I think it's safety

Associates. There seems to be a driver problem, rather than the result of my software

(Firewall, Antivirus,...). I guess that since the same software works well with

watch over my other laptop (also Win XP SP3). Apart from monopolizing the

System resourses the problem does not prevent me to get online and

in collaboration with most of the applications.

Hibernation does not work. During the recovery, the PC crashes completely

(before that the Office is reached) and it will not meet any entry, a material

    reset is necessary.

Any thoughts on the above problems?

    Everyone has the same problems?

    Suggestions for updating/making drivers back?

    Happy for Fredrik advice

Sorry for bringing This new thread since no one else seems interested.
I however managed to solve these problems on my own, so I want

share workarounds if by chance anyone would win.

First one quote another post by myself:

«Sometimes when I boot the PC will connect to the network and everything works fine.»
At other times, after start-up, the "wireless stack initialization failed, error code: 118 ' problem

and the only way to fix it seems to be a restart of the PC. Anything else I do to display the network.
If I look at the tab network layout in the Task Manager indicates that none of the adapters are available (cable eth.
Access also fails).  This is obviosly a problem with the Access Connections software
Since the wireless network works well when I let windows manage... »

So there is no real solution to the problem WiFi only workaround is to let Windows manage the

WLAN security. I used the laptop for two weeks now and wireless works perfectly under XP

control.  What have I done? I edited my profile of connection in the dial-up connections:

Open connections > location profile tab > select profile > wireless settings tab > option 4.

Wireless security type = use Windows to configure wireless network

I must say that the logins is useless to me now. It does not allow me to view and select

wireless networks, but which can be done both through the windows graphical user interface. However, I can use

graphical versions of Ping, Trace Route and IP Config (in the dial-up connections) if I want to.

The solution to the second problem was easy as soon as I find the culprit.

This problem is also related to WiFi, apperently drivers Intel WLAN/material

    can not handle standby correctly

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/951447

What have I done? I stopped windows turning off the wireless network adapter to save power:

Open Device Manager (for example the Panel > system > Hardware tab) > right click of the WLAN card >

Select Properties > power management tab > clear the check box to be able to save.

"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Sleep now works as expected. I have not tried Hibernation and do not hear.

    Could be useful to someone.

  • Satellite L50-C-215: failure to install Win7 via the USB port, pb and toshiba.bg bug ' workshop

Satellite L50-c-215 is a laptop sold without optical drive or OS.

    We bought it today.

    Questions:

-We were told "it is compatible with windows 7", but what a salesman said, everything can be downloaded from the Web from Toshiba site
-While watching the Web from Toshiba site, a link says 'no system operating inside'. Link is corrupt
-2 "official" companies are listed for the Bulgarian Web from Toshiba site are wrong: nobody told on the phone that they are not official support from Toshiba

    Technical questions:

-J' tried to put several Windows 7 ISO on a USB key, using the official Microsoft tool and Rufus, but I got error that says "CD/DVD Driver is missing."
-In some forums, it is said that test the spirit of the thing that a USB 2.0 can solve if USB 3.0 will fail. Each USB failed.

    Sales question:

-Although the European commercial law says people have a little more time to restore a non-working product and be reimbursed, when we returned to the computer at the Technopolis shop a few hours after the purchase, employees told us ' problem is not hardware: we do not cancel the sale, we can take over the computer and give your money. " "Problem is software: see with Toshiba.
The best we could get was the address of a computer service non-Toshiba to try to ask if they might be able to install Windows 7

I already spent half a day working on it
What can we do to install Windows 7 or get the computer returned and refunded?

    Tried Tnings at night:

-> Intall Ubuntu 12.04: card WiFi can't work, no Ethernet cable to update from the Internet

The drivers are on the website of Intel, but solution install require packages to download on the internet, not USB

-> 14.04 installed, Ubuntu box checked during installation to use the Intel Wifi device
Re: software WiFi cannot connect. Spent a few hours on forums to try to understand how to install the Intel USB drivers. Does not work.

For people who want to buy this model, try to get a player of optical disk to install Windows, a good cable to Linux, update or be prepared to spend time and money for the service simply be able to use the computer.

Oh, another thing: Technopolis company is not able to provide you with enough information before buying a product. I will not say that they rip off, but almost: especially to overseas buyers, buy refusal refund to anyone who is not able to have an argument that was screaming in Bulgarian with them.

  • Upgrade Vista on the Satellite U200-126

I would like to tell my experience with the updated BIOS with my Satellite PRO U200-126.
I bought this computer last year, this is a Core Duo, not a Core 2 Duo processor. It has been working perfectly with Windows XP Professional.
All my problems began when I tried to upgrade to Windows Vista.

I bought an upgrade of RAM, because my computer has only 512 MB. I removed the keyboard and installed the additional memory module... It is ok. I bought a new SATA hard drive 160 GB, to install the new operating system on it. I bought Win Vista DVD. I downloaded all compatible applications and drivers from the TOSHIBA web site. I put the upgrade, so I started.

The first step was to upgrade the BIOS. My U200 had BIOS version 1.40 installed, and I flashed the computer with version 3.40 available in time on the Web from Toshiba website. I installed the new hard drive and started a new installation of Windows Vista.

The installation went smoothly. I upgraded to Vista with the patches required to MS and installed all Toshiba drivers and applications in the recommended order.
It was weird that the Toshiba web site had the drivers for Atheros WLAN card, while the U200 uses the Intel 3945ABG. I skipped installing these drivers. Today, I see that they have been removed from the web site. Good shot, indeed, Toshiba.

The first thing that I noticed that the ConfigFree and Intel Proset application have been crippled, if compared to those that are available on Windows XP. The ConfigFree Radar, for example, showed that the WiFi network name, not the single Access Points. Intel Proset was not showing the name of Access Points. It's ok - when a WiFi network has only one access point, but the majority of WiFi networks has several access points...

I learned that it is because Windows Vista manages directly, roaming access points while under XP, this operation has been completed the network adapter and its driver.
Since all software WiFi for XP (Netstubler's) work doesn t under Vista, the only way I was able to locate access points was by typing a command netsh prompt.
In my view, that Toshiba should redouble their efforts on their new software WiFi for Vista.

I was also confronted with other issues, but those issues Vista and not Toshiba. I want to only quote the new Vista network discovery protocol, the NTLM 2, which is incompatible with existing network resources like XP - 2 K based computers and Linux - NAS function. Editing the registry shown on MS Technet for that matter, t has failed. If all goes well, a MS Service Pack, in the future, may solve this problem of backward compatibility.

I also noticed that the Toshiba power management utility had become a subset of Vista power management, it was more than the very neat screen that I liked a lot. In addition, the default value of mapped Windows Vista power button suspends - and not offshore.

Next - I noted that the Fn buttons didn't work unless Toshiba Flash Cards have been loaded and activated. I didn t like Flash cards, because they use a huge 50 MB of RAM. This problem has been resolved with a different BIOS upgrade to version 3.50, I found on the Web from Toshiba site.

Then I started to use the computer. I loved the Aero Interface and the robustness of Vista. I had to disable user account control, since then has been a little too much security, at least for me.
Then using the computer on battery power, closed the lid, and computer is spent in standby mode. Later, I opened the lid and started working again.
Here, I realized something was wrong. To make a long story short:
    1. after suspend and resume, the computer will turn off more.
    2. after him suspend and resume, battery life has been reduced.

It didn't take much to realize it was a BIOS problem. I did a clean reinstall of Vista and the problem remained. I had to physically turn off the computer with the hardware button, because it does not turn off when asked so, but only after an interruption.

At this point, I put in the old hard drive with Windows XP. The computer started fine, any recognition of the fingerprint was extinguished.
BIOS upgrades kill association of OS fingerprints, even if doesn't erase the fingerprints of the probe, information stored fingerprints are no longer usable which is from a pint of view security.
Then, I closed the lid of the computer, and he went to suspend. In XP, the computer with BIOS version 3.50 would not again. It would be rather reset and Windows XP was perform a restart of the recovery thereafter. The Bluetooth radio has been messed up on every reboot.

At this point, my U200 was not usable on Vista and XP. Toshiba Europe web site doesn't allow you to download of old BIOS, neither Toshiba offers a utility to save the old BIOS before flashing a new. I was ready to send to the home computer.

Fortunately enough, I found BIOS version 1.40 on the Toshiba US website. It was not exactly the same as I had before because it showed a generic start-up Logo Intel, while my original BIOS showed the Centrino Duo logo. The version and date were OK, and I flashed the BIOS on my computer. He went everything is OK

With BIOS version 1.40, Windows XP worked perfectly as before. Under Vista, the computer turning off after an interruption / resumption.
The Fn buttons work properly even with loaded flash cards with BIOS version 1.40 under Vista, the brightness of the screen was not controllable - even from the utility to save energy.

At this point, I left 1.40 BIOS and XP on my computer. I'll wait for Toshiba release a compatible BIOS back and the MS to release a Service Pack or a hotfix for the problem network.

At the end of the story, I would like to add a few comments.
I saw the sale the new U200 with Windows Vista preinstalled Toshiba. The new U200 has a Core 2 Duo processor, so I guess that the motherboard will be somewhat up-to-date.
I put t have a new U200, but I think that this new version doesn t suffer from the issue of suspension-recovery.
If anyone from Toshiba is reading this post, I would like to be sent by electronic mail to the original version of 1.40 BIOS that was installed at the factory on my machine, I mean the BIOS showing the Centrino Duo logo colorful start. My email is: antonio.maglione15 (at) libero (dot) it
Also, I ask Toshiba for check the BIOS version 3.50 on an older U200 with processor Core Duo and provide to the public a compatible version back from the BIOS.

    Kind regards

    Antonio

    Dear Antonio

Thanks for you long interesting history.
As you probably know not this forum is just a user-forum user and I'm afraid that you won't find anyone from Toshiba here m.
Anyway, as you said on the Toshiba page you will find only the latest version of the BIOS and the older versions are not available. This real s. Several months ago, I tried an older version of BIOS for my laptop but without to succeed.
A hint; The authorized service provider may downgrade the laptop to the old version.

In any case, I guess many Vista tools and utilities that are on the market are in a first time and updates might solve some strange behaviors.
I noticed that the BIOS updates are published from time to time. Maybe the next update of the BIOS will provide some improvements.

PS; Don't download and install the BIOS from other sources. European portable computers to use the BIOS from the Web of Toshiba Europe site!

  • Satellite L35 (US) with Atheros AR5005G wireless connection problems

I have a Toshiba L35 (Windows Media Center Operating System) with the software WiFi Atheros AR5005G. This machine was purchased in the United States.

While in the United States the Wi - FI connection to a router (Linksys) using Windows to configure was instant without any problem.

I am now in England and when I try to connect to a Modem/Router (3 com), use Windows to configure, connection is spasmodic with what makes a connection on every five attempts. Several times I have to use the repair connection device trying to connect. When it connects the connection is good. When you use the repair it shows unable to renew your IP address if it connects. On other occasions, I use the network connection Panel and 'disable' then 'activate' then most guarantees a connection.

The laptop provides instant connection when you use a card PCMCIA WiFi with Windows to configure. While the card is inserted the s computer WiFi connect instant however when the card is removed and the computer restarted the same problems occur for a computer, free WiFi!

Other laptops have no problems to connect to my Modem/Router. I am convinced that it is working properly.

All regional/language settings in the control panel have been updated with the United Kingdom.

No undates are available for the Atheros Driver or BIOS.

Anyone can help identify the problem/possible settings to change?

    Hello

Satellite L35 is a portable American designed for the American market. BIOS and drivers should be downloaded from the Toshiba site we and not on Toshiba Europe site.

However, the error message Impossible to renew your IP address is known to me and my brother had the same problem with the Intel card. I just updated the WLan driver and used the Intel Proset utility for WLan configuration.

I see that you have the Atheros card. The Atheros also provide an Atheros WLan client utility. Try to use instead of the clean Windows configuration.
In addition, place check WLan card properties. You will find energy saving option. Please turn it off and check the Advanced tab

  • Installation Windows 10 you can lock wireless (ThinkPad E520)

It happened I got my wireless is turned off when I installed Windows 10 (FN + F9 deactivation) and now, who have 10 Windows installed I can't find a way to activate the FN + F9 shortcut to activate again.

I tried to download all drivers and software on this site, but there only to allow the FN + F9 shortcut toggle air mode, which is not the same thing as software wifi switch".

That's what it should look like:

The actioncenter has a wifi button but it doesn't do anything. Can I access wifi settings and try to activate the wifi I can just used the cursor move and if I try to solve problems in Windows it tells me to press the button on the laptop to turn on Wifi, but since it does not I'm stuck. I think whoever's doing the update of Win10 for shortcut keys made a major mistake.

I need a way to activate the wifi on this laptop!

    Thank you.

I have had no installed vpn Cisco. However, I managed to solve the problem by resetting the material related to the implementation in. I can reset the bios by removing all power, battery + cable. If Lenovo does not lock their bios is so I guess I could have set off alone.

  • Not found [Y510p] wireless adapter

    Hello

I use ideapad y510p. My wifi worked perfectly last night. However today in the morning I couldn't find wifi networks. After some research, I discovered that there is not this wifi adapter in NICs and has no wifi adapter in Device Manager. However, bluetooth works great. I tried to reinstall the drivers (clean install even of everything that may have something with networking). But I still don't see any wifi adapter. Local network connection works fine. I don't think that this should be the hardware problem because AFAIK adapters bluetooth and Wi - Fi are both located on Intel Centrino N2230. So I think that if my wifi adapter would be broken that bluetooth would not overwork. I also tried to use the system restore point to last week (when everything worked perfectly) but it didn't work.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I really didn't wana post a service ticket because I need my NTB and they would return it me after about 3 weeks, which is unacceptable to me.

EDIT: I also downloaded the latest drivers from the site intel and when I run the tests with their software WiFi utility (or whatever it's called) it says that there is no present wifi adapter so it fails the same test equipment.

Thanks in advance for your help

Machine: Dell portable computer. Router: Netgear. Cable modem: Ubee. OS: Windows 7 Professional Pro. Usage: homepage.  Background: download software WiFi of Mrs Webb Page. When I tried to reboot the system has been compromised and would only boot from the recovery disc after a complete restoration of the self made restore disc. Made several attempts to recover from internal disk using restore without success points.  These recovery discs were made in two years when the system was purchased and loaded. Problem: System is now extremely slow requiring min to access internet and min more than to get to yahoo mail and min more to call individual emails. Browse online or offline is painful causing a lot of pain. Assume total ignorance when you answer the question that follows: HELP?

If the system is really slow on its own without worrying about all things Internet that I'd work on that to know first since you said "Browse online or offline is painful."

Dell made a lot of laptops to do so that we can see what you have:

Click on the button/ORB start in the lower left corner of your screen. Or, press the button of your keyboard Windows logo.

    In the type box:

    Msinfo32

Select / click msinfo32.exe and the system information dialog box opens.

Click System summary, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) feedback here.

    For the Canadian Techtdo this:

Expand components, storage, click on disks, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

Sooner or later, it would be nice to have a list of your startup items so while you wait to do this:

Download and install the free version of CCleaner here:

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

CCleaner will want to install an additional startup item in your configuration (that you need not) on the first Setup screen remember to choose to customize the installation and make it look like this, then install CCLeaner:

CCleaner allows you to manage most of the startup items and also do some other operations oriented cleaning.  Some people will you recommend is not to use the registry functions in CCleaner to avoid these features for now.  I have no problem with it for me, but sometimes it's a contentious issue, I prefer to avoid as much as possible!

You can uninstall CCleaner later if you don't like it.

Run CCleaner and choose Tools, boot and bottom right, click on the button "Save to text file" to save the startup information in a text file on your desktop with a name you remember - something like startup.txt

Save the text file startup information to your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) open the text file with an editor (Notepad or WordPad) and select all (Ctrl-A), copy text, all the text selected in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl + C) then paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the startup list of back here in your next reply.

  • iPad (64 gb, WiFi) Air2: could not be updated to 9.3.4 (error 1403, iTunes: damaged when downloading software)

    #1

    Hello!
I have an iPad Air2 (64 gb, WiFi) that is running on iOS 93.3. I connected to iTunes and tried to upgrade to 9.3.4 that breaks down repeatedly.1)
I tried to do the upgrade on three different computers (a Mac, Win two) using iTunes 12.4.3. ITunes always download the firmware completely (about 1.85 GB) file, and then says he's working on the file downloaded and said then the software was damaged during the download (err 1403). This happened several times and on several days.
I could upgrade an iPad and an iPod touch (gen 5) 3 on one of the computers in each network without any problem, so the networks and iTunes seem to work fine.
    2)
I tried to download 9.3.4 manually and install it. The file was downloaded to my iPad to iTunes, but stopped at halfway of the progress on the ipad and iPad bar was blocked in recovery mode.
Recovery (and return to factory settings) in 9.3.4 has led to the above error.
    3)
I downloaded 9.3.3 manually and recovered to that. Now everything works well again after restoring a backup-Conclusions:
ITunes and my network have no problem or other devices would not have had the upgrade.
There is no material error in my Air2, otherwise 9.3.3 recovery would not have worked.
Since I've tried downloading several times there has only very little chance that the file was very damaged during the download. So what is wrong here? I searched on the net but not found an adequate answer.
    Thanks for any help!

If so could you? I am currently using a Belkin external antenna.

    Hello

Looks like you wouldn't have a big computer experience.

First of all it s interesting to know which laptop model you have.

Secondly I m wondering why you think you erased the WLan driver?
Go to Device Manager and check if the wireless adapter is listed in the network adapters.

If you could see the wireless card WLan driver is installed correctly.
