Solitaire, Minesweeper, freecell, hearts, etc...
Just got my new pc, but cannot find the games above.
There is a 'games' button on the start menu, but when I click, the screen comes up with anything listed and says "0 items.
I spoke with Dell and they said that these games are on all Windows OS.
These games can be blocked?
If they can be blocked, it would take someone to actually do the blocking, or is it possible that the games just got loaded wrong somehow?
Is this incident common? I never heard of that happening.
Hello
not a common thing to occur for a home pc. Maybe it is not installed at all.
in any case try fixing it by following these steps
Open programs and features in Control Panel, click on 'Turn windows features enable or disable' make sure you have check marks for all the games and click ok. It migh ask vista dvd in their resettlement.
I hope this helps.

I have windows xp service pack 3 and internet explorer 7
Hi dollarsfor6,
Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.
In most cases if the games are deleted from the computer files will remain on the computer.
I suggest that you are looking for game files in the system32 folder.
Click on Start menu later click on run and type c:\\windows\system32 in the following search of the window for the file of games like free cell. If you get the files in the system32 folder then copy the file to c:\\program files\start menu\ later in the game folder.
If fails it above step, try a system restore to the point when the game was available on the computer.
See the link below to learn how to perform the system restore.

Hello
You have installed the latest display drivers?
The question could related to the drivers and the same update should solve the problem. I suggest you to install the latest Windows 7 compatible drivers for your computer.
See the following article from Microsoft for more information on the update of drivers:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-drivers-recommended-linksThere is a chance of new versions of the driver will be visible on Windows Update. I suggest trying the installer again and don't forget to select the option to update online.

chuck229,
I suggest that try you a few things. Try first disabled at boot and then see if you are able to start them. If you still have a problem, and then run the System File Checker. You can also run the error-checking on your disk drive. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

Start > Accessories > game. When I open all the games available, I have the problem described above
Dick,
What version of Windows are you on and what service pack level? Have you tried to install remove\re games yet? If this is not the case try of removing\re - install games and see if this changes the behavior. Also, be sure that you are current with all updates and hardware drivers as well. I just bought a new computer with Windows Vista business. It comes with games, but not the classics that I'm used to. I would like to be able to download classic Solitare and Free Cell. Can you tell me where to get them and how to download them? Thank you.
joshuasmama,
Well, I'm not familiar with this games has on the Business edition. However if the games are available and all simply not loaded then you can load the as follows:Click Start > Control Panel > programs > "Turn Windows features on or off" (it is listed under the "programs and features")
A window opens with a list of all Windows components that are available. If it has a check mark next to it, then he is responsible. Then go to the 'Games' folder, click on the + to open the folder. If the games you want are listed and unverified, then put a check mark next to them and click OK. They will then arrange. If already, he has control and is not in your list of games, and then uncheck the box, click ok, restart, and then back in, check it out.
Try and let us know what happens.
