Solution unknown to close problem

I recently installed Vista. My laptop stops randomly and when it restarts, I get the following error message: AN unknown problem has caused to your computer shut down. Search for errors. I click it and it shows:

Look for the updates of the ATI graphic driver

This problem was caused by ATI Graphics Driver, which was created by ATI Technologies, Inc. Currently, there is no solution for this problem.

Troubleshooting

An update of the driver, as appropriate, could prevent this problem does not happen.

What is a driver?

A driver is software that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or devices. Without drivers, the hardware you connect to your computer (for example, a video card or a webcam) may not work properly.

There are several ways to find and install the driver updates, but it's best to let Windows do it for you. Try the step below, which describes the process. If it does not produce a driver update that resolves the problem, try the remaining steps in the order shown.

  1. Look for the optional third-party updates

    Even if all the critical updates have been installed on your computer, the optional updates may be available for ATI Graphics Driver who must always be installed. Here is how to use Windows Update to find and install the updates driver option:

    1. Open Windows Update:

    2. In the left pane, click check for updates to see if there are any optional updates available for your computer.

    3. If no new optional updates are available, go to step 2.

    4. If the optional updates are available, click view available updates (if you don't see this option, you may need to click Search online for updates from Microsoft Update).

      Windows Update or Microsoft Update lists all the updated drivers that are available for the devices installed on your computer.

    5. Select the updates that are listed (especially if they seem to be related graphics), and then click install. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  2. Try to manually update the ATI Graphics Driver

    If no optional PRODUCT_NAME update was available in Windows Update, you can try to manually update the ATI Graphics Driver.

    It's best to let Windows automatically installs the drivers for your hardware, as described in step 1 above.

    If you decide to manually update the graphics driver ATI, here's how:

    1. Click to open Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. In Device Manager, double-click display adapters, and then double-click the name of the device running ATI Graphics Driver.

    3. Click driver , and then click set to update driver.

    4. When asked how you want to search for driver software, click search automatically for updated driver.

    5. Windows locate and install a new driver, if available.

How to upgrade manually a pilot using a file downloaded

  2. In Device Manager, locate the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.

  • When asked how you want to search for a software driver, click Browse my computer for driver software.

    How can I find the manufacturer of my computer?

    Click on the Start button , type msinfo32 in the start search box and press ENTER. The manufacturer of your computer is listed as the manufacturer of the system in the right pane of the system information window.

    Please use the Forum of the community for Vista.

    The problem seems to be with your video driver software.

    You will have to wait for a new driver out that solves this problem.

    In the meantime, you can (if available) download and try older drivers. Sometimes that goes around.

    Reinstall DirectX.

    Look for the updates of the driver of motherboard.

    Although the 3 ideas mentioned above are not ideal solutions, unfortunately, if those who do not help you are stuck waiting for the solution.

    Try the ATI site and see if their forums have nothing on this. Since it's their hardware and drivers, it would be a great place to start.

      The AMD graphics driver for mobile phones latest also contains the drivers for the chipset. The driver you need is for the AMDas4 device.

      1. don't you make changes to your computer, after which the issue started?
      2. don't you also get an error message?

      Assuming you are using Windows 7, I would suggest you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

      Step 1:

      Disconnect all external devices such as printer, USB key, HDMI enabled devices and check if the problem persists.

      Step 2:

      Disable automatic system error reboot and note down the error message you get if any.

      Step 3:

      Check if the problem persists in safe mode.

      Let us know the status of the issue in safe mode.

      I had the same problem. I went to add devices and added the HP Officejet 6500 and it started to print. For some reason any computer would not communicate with the printer until it was added. I hope it works for you.

    • Atheros AR5009 weird solution for a weird problem!

      I know there are a lot of people having problems with the WIFI Atheros AR5009 blessed same card I had. I am the owner of 3 HP Notebooks that 2 of them have the WiFi model. The problem has been composed in an error code 10 after each start up to the top of the laptop, since long, after much wasted time in music with technicians, upgradeing to the Bios and drivers, removing the laptop WiFi card to reset and so on, I noteiced that if I turn off WiFi using the front quick launch button stop the laptop is fixing the code 10 error and the WiFi works fine on the next time you start, with the exception of a period of 10 minutes before connect you to the wireless network. So it was ok with me still a litlle bit boring but good. About 2 weeks ago, that I wanted to install the RC of Windows 7 X 64 to test because I heard a lot of good things on this subject and so I did. I have deleted the C: partition, created a new and format it using the Windows 7 installation disc and after that I just instaled 7. Drivers HP for Windows Vista X 64 perfect where except for Atheros I received the update of Windows and everything worked ok especially WiFi which gives me more the Code 10 error. After a few days of testing, I come to the conclusion that Windows 7 is buggy for me then I haved reinstalled Vista again delete the C: partition, creating a new and format before the installation of the operating system. I reinstalled Vista Home Premium X 86 and HP drivers and I noticed that the AR5009 is no longer gives me the error Code 10 when I stopped my laptop without plugging down WiFi first. A previous theme, that I know that are many o people have trouble with this map and that some o them even managed to get it replaced by Hp, but is not it is simpler for the technicians HP just look at this problem and solve it rather than simply replacing parts? I hope that this message will help someone at HP for a solution or a user HP the same problem faceing. Until now I failed to keep my laptop closed for several hours and then and I can't do the same thing on the second HP laptop so until I managed to keep closed for more then 24 hours, this solution must be regarded as a probable, but on Windows 7 works 100% , the cell phone being off more then 36 hours. I'll keep you posted when I get it for 24 hours just to be sure.

      I finally figure is why the Atheros AR5009 works correctly under Windows Vista after all this month. How I told you in the previous post, I installed WIndows 7 X 64 OS on my laptop and Windows Update provides a driver for Atheros AR5009, and everything worked correctly without error Code 10. After that I reinstalled Vista again I asked Windows driver the driver installation folder where I keep all my drivers (I saved Windows 7 drivers there too) and everything worked, only I thought I installed the driver Atheros normal from the HP site. Hey well yesterday while I was looking for an explanation why the cursed WiFi card work properly I noticed that I have installed the wrong driver, I had the drivers for Windows 7 X 64. Have uninstalled and delete the device and the drivers and reinstalled again and I after that 16 hours, I turned on my laptop and the AR5009 is a lot of work. If anyone need this driver, can I download it for you, or you can search in the database of the Microsoft driver. The real question is why in HP world did not come to the top with a new driver and all the world let down? They are busy cash?

    • Remove all listeners - or another solution to the given problem

      If the problem is the following:

      Say we have a list of items displayed in a ListView. The elements can be made up of a string describing and above all, a list of IDs.

      Then we have a group of checkboxes, each associated with a value ID. The check boxes are selected must be determined by the content of the list of the selected item in the ListView.

      The problem here is him when you select an item in the ListView and behavior in 1) is called, the invalidation handler is called, thus updating list of the selected ListView item again before it has had the opportunity to update all the boxes!

      Next thing I tried:

      Do not add any fixed listener for the check boxes. (Instead, in 1), remove the check boxes for any listener, to update, and then add a listener that will call the behavior in 2).

      The problem here is 'remove every listener of the boxes', given that on Observable removeListener() method takes a specific listener as a parameter - and we have no reference to that. (And the first time, we have not added even.)

      So is there a way to tell an Observable, Hey, remove all listeners you have?

      Or am I on the wrong track, and it is indeed obvious, another solution to this problem?

      I don't see the need to remove the listeners - this seems dirty and a little prone to error.

      What follows is doing what you want (I used a ChoiceBox for ease, but adapting to a list would be trivial), or if I'm missing a part of the question?

      Hi all,

      I hope someone can help, I need to know what to do. I bought this laptop C855-1UU Satellite two days ago, and I'm afraid she has certain shortcomings.

      Everything works fine, except that I have problem when I power the laptop off. I use Linux OS (tried with Sabayon and now on Manjaro, I wanted to just check is this OS or hardware problem).

      I recently got a tpt2. He seems to refuse to power on. Rarely a green light appears stable for a few seconds under the front camera, but the screen remains blank.
