  • Lenovo Y560p Fn + right/left arrow keys (volume) is not showing do not normally on the screen

Normally, it shows several vertical bars next to each other which fill or impoverish corresponds to the volume. The key function works fine for other things, such as Fn + up/down to adjust the brightness of the screen. If I click on the sound icon in the status bar in the lower right corner, then use the Fn + left/right he's going to raise/lower the sound, but very slowly (always without any indication of the screen).

Solved my problem: "Lenovo Energy Management" was the issue. Supposed to uninstall it and reinstall, but not found to uninstall. I just reinstalled it and restarted my computer and it was fixed. My msconfig under Startup Programs file shows 2 entries of different energy management (with one checked). Kind of bothers me. Well, basically fixed.

The file of installation of energy management has been on the Lenovo site.

  • Button "Broken" of any software problem

    Hi people,
I recently double started Linux Mint on my IdeaPad U300s and I had problems with my keyboard, 't' key in paricular. When I press 't' he thinks im pressing tab and its VERY annoying, same juice to write this message.
Then... I have a few questions.

    1. do you think that it is a hardware problem? (It happened on Linux Mint AND Windows)
    2. can I replace the key - how? This will help?
    3. can/how can I 'do' the tab key - act as a ' t "(sous windows/linux) - so tab will not work properly and the 't' key will!"

    Any help would be appreciated!
(If you're wondering, I just copy and paste ' t is around to write this.)

Hey, it's a known issue for users of linux U300s. See this bug report to find many people with the same problem.

    https://bugs.Launchpad.NET/Ubuntu/+source/Linux/+bug/974455

You can temporarily solve the problem completely discharge the battery, or by opening the cover of the ultrabook and take out the battery. This will reset the configuration of the keyboard and your t key will work again, as expected.

The worst thing about this problem is that Lenovo and major linux distributions are aware of the issue (I have personally informed them), and no one solves it. Lenovo says that their BIOS team will attempt to resolve the problem and Canonical says they are working to certify hardware Lenovo on Ubuntu Linux, but the reality is that we are a lot of people who bought an expensive and useless thing that only works under Windows, the Lenovo Ideapad U300s.

  • T400 suddenly won't boot beyond the ThinkPad splash screen

.. .only visible indicator of a problem is that the drive activity light on the bottom of the screen stops ignition etc when the ThinkPad splash screen appears. No bumps in the system, no unusual activity to suggest physical damage to computer laptop or disk - started very well in the morning on the desk, would not restart from the same location on the office after lunch. System also won't start on a bootable system disk (but you can hear the drive access). System is less than one year.

I solved my problem: Lenovo Service Center for repair under warranty here a diagnosis nor a bad mother and a bad battery, due to abuse of the handling, etc. the computer could suffer (it seemed to be a factory default). No indication as to whether one or the other 'bad' component caused the other to fail. in total 48 hrs to repair, most of the waiting time for a new motherboard coming in the night. No charge to me for what it is. Life goes on.

  • T500 GMA DVI Boot - Advanced Mini Dock: works with a monitor, but not another

    Hello

I have a type of T500 2242 with GMA X4500MHD graphics in Advanced Mini Dock. BIOS 1.20, startup display set to the DVI connector. Cable DVI - D single-link of the dock-> DVI - D input on external TFT monitor. I get different results according to the attached monitor:

    (1) PX191 19 "1280 x 1024 native plane: splash screen appears on the external monitor.

    (2) "Topaz" Soyo DYLM24D6 24 "native 1920 x 1200 S: external monitor stays off, the splash screen appears on the screen of T500.

Maybe there is something wrong with the Soyo is EDID? Or a bad interaction with the T500 BIOS?

I would be grateful for clues on how to get the start screen to display on the monitor 24 ".

    Thank you

    Frank

Good news! I sent my T500 in-service, and Lenovo replaced the motherboard. Now, the startup screen is correctly displayed via the dock to my monitor's DVI port external 24 ". After what Linux / X sees the external monitor and it puts in place and it displays correctly. So: problem solved! Thanks, Lenovo

Before the swap of the Board of Directors system, I was able to use a cable DVI DisplayPort / talk to the 24 "monitor. This requires an extra cable to plug/unplug, so it's nice to finally have the DVI dock work.

It seems that this problem only arises with some ThinkPad + external monitor combinations. My original system card worked fine with a 19 "monitor. And another Member pointed out that a single version of a 19 "works fine with its T500 Belinea monitor, even if a previous version does not. (See this thread for more details.)

  • The Lenovo G50 80 screen too high contrast. How to solve this problem?

I bought a Lenovo 50 80 g (it's under warranty). I'm having this problem with contrast/brightness of the built-in display. It is that it is too high (unacceptable), it is not natural and I can not yet able to fix is a problem or software drivers for hardware? Please guide me how to solve this problem.

I think I've fixed this by right click on the desktop and choose Properties Intel graphics from there I went to the power Option and (in the menu dropdown) chosen on doughy and disabled Disable Power Saving Technology

PS: in addition to this I adjusted also in contrast to 45 in the color settings.

  • S205 Lenovo with RaLink 3090 series wifi adapter problems - update driver 3.2.1 solve?

    Hello.

I just got the Lenovo S205 with RaLink 3090 series wifi card and had a steady decline until I downloaded the Version 3.2.1 update which was included in the link for the 309 X (X being 0 for me for my wifi card) software/drivers on RaLink site, under the Help menu.

Go to ralinktech.com and go to Support > downloads > Windows and you will see a list of several RaLink devices which include the adapter X 309. I chose to download/install the full utility with the driver. I remember well, it may be more 28 megabytes.

I hope it works for you!

    Update:

I uninstalled the RaLink wireless utility that came with the 3.2.1 pilot, but it uninstalled the driver too. Then I reinstalled and activated the option "install driver only", went into the control panel > hardware and audio > Device Manager > network adapters >

RALink RT3090 802.11n WiFi adapter > double-click to open the properties > power management tab > uncheck "allow this computer to turn off device to save energy ', 'OK', close and restart programs.

So when I start or wake the system from sleep, I click the Wireless connections icon in the lower right (next), bar and then click on the link that I want to connect, and then click 'Connect' While it takes 8 seconds to connect, it is worth MUCH more that to have the connection drop constantly, and I probably reboot my system only once when he didn't to reconnect out of a State of sleep.

I had a MUCH more homogeneous behaviour since this change, and I hope it works well for you too!

  • Lenovo S10e WLAN WIFI driver problem solved

I recently reinstalled XP on a S10e but could not get the WLAN to work. I have installed all the drivers on the site of lenovo for the S series broadcom drivers but without success. Then were

2 weeks later I then re-formatted and installed Windows Vista but the same questions again.

    Solution

Go to Device Manager and select the Details tab

Summer of my number VEN 8086 DeV 4327

    I then went to http://www.pcidatabase.com

the details entered and found this camera was an Intel (R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN (according to the id of the chip)

(use the search function of the browser with the device id number-saves a lot of time to go through the list)

    follow the link to http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng

and found the corresponding device id

Wireless > Intel Centrino WIFI Products > Intel WIFI Link 5300 and Intel WIFI Link 5100

the driver for my OS installed and now everything works 100%

It seems that the device in the BIOS id is incorrect or that it really is an Intel chip not broadcom.

I hope this helps many people who have the same problem that I had and ends the traul endless on getting the WIFI works again.

Good luck and let me know if it works for you

Also all the other drivers have been installed automatically with the VISTA install no need for driver downloads (except bluetooth installed under automatic updates - is not I use it anyway)

  • Lenovo website does not recognize the serial number of the new X 61 [SOLVED]

HiI just got a new Lenovo X 61 laptop and trying to understand what warenty I might have with Lenovo.

Then I go to the site Lenovoes > support and try to enter my serial number. I looked at the instructions and double and triple checked and I'm sure I got it right but the site won't accept it.

    It reads:

    LVxxxxx TYPE 7674 - X 04 S/N 06/2009

    PRODUCT ID: 7674 - X 04

that should mean that the serial number is: 7674X04LVxxxxx

They are that no other numbers on the back with the exception of MAC address and a S/N Vista Home Basic.

Note of the moderator; s/n, under the direction of protection own members

I tried anouther part of the site and was able to do, I think, the instructions were just weird and seemed to say I should add two small numbers but I should really just used the SN singular 7-digit.

  • Firefox 3.6.8 Scrollpoint Act does not on the Lenovo mouse.

Firefox does not have to scroll my Lenovo USB optical mouse applications via the Scrollpoint. (FYI functions Scrollpoint well enough as the Trackpoint on a Thinkpad keyboard, giving it a scroll of much more fluidly than any wheel on a regular 360 degrees wheel mouse.) Scrollpoint orders are recognized very well in almost all the other programs that I use, including word processors, e-mail and especially other browsers such as Opera programs. I, indeed, spent at the opera as my main browser until this feature is solved in Firefox. Thank you for your support.

This still happens from Firefox 8.0.
My drivers are up to date.
I tried the suggestion of universal scrolling, but there is no Exceptions button in my mouse settings on.
I note that neither is it a tab 'wheel' and keep referring to him as follows clearly not having the same device that I and other money griping about people. It is a mouse SCROLLPOINT, not a wheel mouse. I can't find any information that directly relates to this device; everything refers to wheel mice.
    Frustrating.

    Hi Josepgreg,

What version of software is on your phone? (Settings > about phone > the device information > Build number)
If your phone has an available update, install it.

    Point 1,2,3:
Generally, the 'network falls' and "telephone-outs" are caused by the SIM, not the phone itself.
You can try to change the SIM card to your phone service provider.

    Point 4:
What is common in the contacts, which are not shown? (same source as SIM or Google, etc.)

    Point 5:
Not a problem, it is not supported right now. (In November, will be just the update which allows VoLTE).

    Point 6:
Camera phone, it's not the best on the market, it is a mid-range phone.
You can try another camera since the Google game application, some of them can improve the quality of the images.

  • !! Lenovo M490s function keys and hibernate problem!

    Hello world!

I bought the laptop Lenovo M490s week last without BONES. I installed Windows 7 Professional x 64 retail.

First of all, I could not find the software that controls the function keys. After installing each driver and software support page (M490s) my function keys does not except Fn + F1 Fn + F2 sleep has turn off the screen, Fn + F6 disable touchpad and the buttons set. Also no information would display on the screen after pressing the buttons - no level volume and shine.

After some research, I found and installed Hotkey features integration support Lenovo M490 (without S) page. Each function key is started working, information on the screen also start displaying (volume and brightness level).

Now, I spotted a huge problem, after 3 or 4 hibernation volume and brightness keys (fn + up, down, left, right) stopping just at work! Fn + F1 to F12 key combinations work normal. Then after that restart brightness and volume keys work again!

Please help me solve this problem, I can't live without hibernation!

    Thank you!!!

THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED! Problem was in the BIOS!

I loaded the default Installer and everything is great now.

In addition, I have all excluded from the boot order except my SSD.
