Some loading sites is not in Firefox but Chrome load. Strangely fixed itself. But why?

Hello.

I had a very strange problem this morning. Firefox wouldn't load approximately 75% of the websites I used to visit. These sites are accessible by other devices in the House. So I downloaded Chrome on my desk and was able to access these sites of Chrome.

So I went back to Firefox to continue to try to solve the problems that the problem was that Firefox had suddenly developed. But all of a sudden, everything was again loading in Firefox.

Now I have nothing other than the installation of Chrome and import my favorites.

If this seems a little wonky and mysterious for me.

Anyone has any ideas on what could happen and why?

Thanks for your time.

Yours,

Simon.

What seems to have had a problem with BT to wide band, they have published an apology and had some sort of weird failure.

So not a problem at my end at all.

Weird that go to Chrome seemed to solve it, but I guess it could just be a coincidence.

Don't know how to close my own question?

  • I get error messages when I try to visit some Web sites you use Mozilla Firefox, but not when I use other browsers

About two days ago, I noticed that when I tried to access some websites using Firefox, I always got this error message. "The connection was reset". Initially, I thought it was a problem with my ISP before noticing that the network was fine on my phone and the iPad. I tried and then open the same links which brought up the error message on the TorBrowser and it worked perfectly.

Basically, the only site that works right now on my Firefox browser is Google but if I do a Google search and then click on any link that appears so I get the same error message, "the connection was reset". I can also connect to my gmail account, but I can't access any other Web site including Feedly, Tumblr, Twitter, Yahoo, Wordpress, Blogspot, even though they work fine on my other browser.

I have cleared my cache and cookies, wiped out all browsing history, but the problem persists then I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox and reinstalled. The problem is still there. I checked the proxy settings, I went through all the solutions on this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can?esab=a & as = aaq and still nothing. I'm not sure what the problem is here, but any solution will be appreciated. I have used Firefox for years and I'm really not comfortable using a different browser.

I use a Macbook OS X Version 10.9.4 and the last Firefox 32.0.1

  • Why does my site display properly in Firefox but not Safari/Chrome?

I have looked through all my code and do not understand why my previews site perfectly well in Firefox, but in Safari or Google Chrome all elements of the site work but the images that make up the background appear empty or with a blue question marks in a box on them.  I made the site by slicing layers in Photoshop then saved the HTML as a template and added the relevant divs.

It displays a good overview on Dreamweaver as well but it is precisely these browsers on that it does not work.  It is used to preview very well on these browsers while I was doing it until I added the flash element to it, so I don't know if this has something to do with it, although all Flash elements appear and function ok.

Thanks SnakEyes, I managed to get rid of the Alt error now.  My structure automatically becomes a tabular presentation due to the importation of the slices directly from Photoshop in a fixed layout?  All of a sudden I have all these new upcoming errors for no leftmargin, topmargin, marginWidth don't and marginheight as well as the height, so it would be ok if I just deleted all references to the latter in the code?

Nancy Merci for these links to page layouts ready to use, they will definitely come in handy for my next site.  As I want my site to be a fixed 1024 x 700 does what a function table plan?  I want it be fixed instead of liquid that I want all the Flash animations to show in specific locations on the site.

This is why you should not export the HTML from Photoshop.  To answer your question that exports only Photoshop like HTML 4.01, which is why he has these attributes.  In addition, everything is an image in a table cell, which leads to many problems.  Learn how to cut out pictures and use everything that CSS can offer will make better code.

  • Some Web sites do not show text correctly but only in Firefox

Firefox does not display text on some web sites, all I get are |, <>of arrows, points etc and yet I can see very well in Chrome or IE pages. IV removed my FF, disabled theme Add ons and check if everything is updated and still nothing.

Its really annoying, the main site, I have a problem with is http://www.three.co.uk but I just discovered this site well http://css-plus.com/examples/plugins/PlusSlider/ there has been others in the past, but I just ignored it for a while but now its annoying me! 99.99% of the sites are absolutely perfect and if I disabled style sheets I see the text very well, but of course, it's all left aligned etc.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try the pref gfx.content.azure.enabled set to false or if this does not help disable Direct2D by setting the pref gfx.direct2d.disabled true on the subject: config page and leave hardware acceleration enabled otherwise.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the update of Windows KB2670838 if you have this update.

  • Some Web sites do not display the fonts in firefox.

For a while through a number of updates, I see that on some Web sites, rolling stone and cnbc are two example. If I go to the fonts in my computer and click on restore default settings for fonts, it solved that temporarily the problem. If I go to the settings and disable Web sites use their own fonts, it solves but fonts do not appear as sites intend to make them appear. This does not happen in other browsers, firefox only. I reinstalled windows fonts 7. I tried to disable hardware acceleration... Still has not solved the problem. How can I solve this problem in firefox?

Do you know if there is a model of policing does not work? If you right click on the text of the problem and choose inspect element (Q), Firefox should open the Inspector tool in the lower part of the tab. On the right side in front of the HTML source code is a box that can usually shows the style rules. Click small heading fonts to show the font used for the text of the problem.

When I visit the site, the text of the problem is in "Close Gotham" (with more than words displayed in the attached screenshots). These are downloadable fonts.

  • Since the update of firefox, facebook, yahoo mail and some msn sites do not work

At the same time as this update, I had cleaned my cache and cookies. But since then, Yahoo Mail are not available in Firefox, Facebook loads with only text for things such as news, login, etc., and several loading in the same way MSN sites.

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • Online banking site javascript functions work not with Firefox 17.01 (or 17.0) on Mac: why work with Safari?

A link button to submit a transaction on the site of a major Canadian Bank web page does not appear in the rendering of Firefox, but it does in the latest version of Safari. Support staff of the Bank claim that the problem is with javascript and I 'should download the new version." (?) I am on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Firefox 17.01; I reinstalled the version 17.0 but this has not fixed the problem, and there is no update available for my system Mac software.

I don't want to stop using Firefox and do not necessarily imply that the Bank support staff believe when they imply that the problem comes from my browser. However, there must be a number of their clients running Mac with Firefox, so I can't believe I'm the only one who have this problem.

    Can someone please suggest?

Eureka! To the Bank in question a technical support person suggested that make sure that Adblock Plus was not blocking the ads. I like ABP, but I have rarely paid no attention to it. In his enthusiasm for the pesky ad-blocking, ABP was also blocking some essential elements to the use of the web site.

  • Some Web sites do not work properly

    Original title:

    Glitch or?

When I open certain web pages or sites, some parts of the screen begin to Flash and sometimes it gets really bad and I see even more page. I don't know what it is, but it appears randomly.

    Hi Sarah,.

It could be a problem with the compatibility of the Web site or the video card drivers are outdated.

    What browser do you use?

If you are having problems with Internet Explorer then you can see the steps below:

Sometimes a Web site you visit doesn't look like you expect it. Images may not appear, menus may be out of place, and text boxes may be blurred together. This can be caused by a compatibility problem between Internet Explorer and the site that you are. When a site is not compatible with Internet Explorer, you'll see the compatibility view button in the address bar. You can activate only display Internet Explorer compatibility for the office.

    Reference:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Internet-Explorer/use-compatibility-view#IE=IE-10

You can also have a look at the following link:

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error

Note: When the diagnosis is complete do not forget to reset the computer to a normal startup. Follow step 3 of the article mentioned above.

Warning: Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.

  • My site works fine in firefox but doesn't show the background color of my pages in that is to say, any help greatly appreciated.

My site is http://www.bigmoggs.prohost4u.co.UK the site appears fine in FF but then open in IE none of the text, buttons or flash animation, the only thing that appears is a blank page in the correct color, can someone me please help

On line 60, opening style tag is not complete:

  • All double f on my site shows not in Firefox 8.0.1

All double f on my site disappear on the Firefox browser to version 8.0.1.

If you look at item #5 under "Getting Started is Easy", "Playoffs" shows as "Playos". Another occurrence is the word "different" showing as "dierent" in the "Why No Roto?" section.

If I look at the source code and before I upload, the ff's are there.

    Problem with ligatures?

You can write a check for corrupted fonts and duplicate and other police issues:

  • Some Web sites will not load

Some websites will not load or partially charge and will be usually just load the site title and nothing else and will have a spinning wheel at the top which will not stop.
They tend to work on FF before, but no more.

Also, when I click on another link or something like that it will show the whole page as it is supposed to be for the duration it takes to switch the clicked link. I can, for example, (though I'm pretty fast) click on another link and then cancel it and I'll be able to see the page (in some really weird stuff).

I read something about Java Script doing this problem, I turned off Java script and I could see some of the sites, but Needless to say that certain features of the Web site are lost.
Happens on websites very little well but still enough to annoy me. I don't like not only 2 or 3 sites from switching browsers.

I'm sure it has something to do with Java Script, but was not able to understand that even after reading some of the questions here.

Here are 2 websites that no longer works:
    http://www.parkablogs.com/
    http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

  • Some Web sites will not load on Safari or Chrome

There seems to be a problem in my mac (OS X El Capitan 10.11 running) that does not allow me to load some Web pages while I can load websites including apple.com, google.com, facebook.com, youtube.com (all other sites load on my phone and other computer). I tried to use other wifi connections, but the problem still remains.

I tried to change the IPv6 configuration, but there is no option "off".

    Safari Version 9.0 (11601.1.56)

Version of Google Chrome: 50.0.2661.102 (64-bit)

I tried the option to diagnose, but the computer is unable to find a problem and said instead that everything seems to work very well.

The error on the Web site reads as follows:

    -----------

    There is no Internet connection

There is a problem with the proxy server or the address is incorrect.

    Try:

    ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED

Try restarting your Mac in safe mode:

    -Stop your Mac

-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button

-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key

-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar

-Once you see office, start a scan Disk Utility to detect and repair file system errors (remember to choose your primary hard drive)

-Click on the disc to check, then, if requested to solve the problems on the repair disk

-After that click on verify disk permissions, and then click Repair disk permissions

-Once the process is complete, stop your Mac and turn it on again after 30 seconds

    I hope this helps!
