  Adobe has disabled the server activation for pre CS3 products a long time ago and that's why you are unable to activate your product.   I had to remove the regedit.  for some reason the mail windows refuses to unassociate so go to regedit, I don't like playing with regedit, but it worked, I deleted and then again, all ok now.
