Windows has been downgraded from Vista to XP, now to get WGA error at startup

I'm for a company.  They have bought a few Vista Business machines in 2008 & downgrading to XP pro due to problems of Vista for remote users.  A few weeks ago, he was local & recorded in the field. It is while it aterted error do 'Windows Genuine advantage' began to appear. Is the key: V2C47-MK7JD-3R89F-D2KXW-VPK3J.  There a Dell XP sp2 disk, currently its system is sp3 & we can do a repair of the system from that.  No idea how or why this popped up & is there a way to revalidate its system to get rid on the nag screen & give his wallpaper?  I really want to do a reinstall and rebuild the system.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

  • INSPIRON 545 o/s has been upgraded from Vista to Win 7 - can I update by running just two disks again to get a new computer?

Hello - this is my first experience here, I hope this is the right place for my next investigation...

As the topic - I upgraded my 545 with the kit to upgrade DELL moons ago.  I still have the 2 discs provided by DELL.

I would like to refresh my poor overloaded machine and would like to know if it is possible to do so simply by inserting the 2 discs and repeat as before, which was very successful and the machine has been very stable.  Lately he has slowed down and I'd clean the unwanteds.

Naturally, on the premise that programs will be lost during the procedure I'll save as required to load later.

I'll be happy to hear if it is a practical solution for my turgid 545.

Are anxious words of hearing of the wisdom of the knowledgeable members.

    Greetings - Vicko

The pilots will not be loaded. Windows will be the base for most of the devices drivers. The real drivers are on your driver disk. Further however later versions to update from the Dell Web site.

If you need specific help driver provides the hardware for the video controller ID and the wireless card (if you have a wireless card). These are the only variants in the system. Once I have this I can tell you precisely what to install. For instructions, see here:

  • Struggling micro does not work. Installed Chipset for Dell Xps 420. Has been upgraded from vista to 7 64-bit

Whenever I plug a microphone, the microphone taken none appears on the recording tab devices in the sound settings.

The audio jack works well and worked even without the chipset drivers.

I tried to download realtek but I get an error that says no drivers supported.

    Hello

I couldn't find an update for Windows 7 for your computer, which means that Dell has not all drivers for this OS on your computer XPS 420. However, there is a driver that is specific to Vista 64-bit, download here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/xps-420?driverId=4JDG5&osCode=WV64&fileId=2731098634&languageCode=EN&categoryId=AU .

Another option to consider is to update your video driver to the latest version, download here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-320.18-whql-driver.html (it was released on 23 May). I suggest as an alternative as video drivers often include audio drivers as well.

Those are the two pilots who appear to be more likely to adapt to your system, and if one or the other does not work you can restore the driver using the dialog of properties as follows:

    1. Go to control panel and click Device Manager.
    2. When that opens, click sound, video and game controllers.
    3. Select the audio driver / video, you have downloaded and installed.
    4. Right-click on the device and select Properties.
    5. When this window opens, go to the tab (on the top row) driver.
    6. Click the Driver Rollback button and left-click on it.
    7. Let Windows reinstall the older driver.
    8. Restart your computer.

If all goes well, one of these fixes will take care of the problem. Keep me posted.

  • The tutorial has been removed from Vista?

Windows 95 - XP were all a sort of tour that introduced the basic concepts, but I'll be darn if I can find it in Windows 7 or Vista.

In Windows 95, according to me, they called him "Getting started with Windows 95", in ' 98, it's "Discover Windows 98", XP was 'Turn Windows XP'. "."

Is there an equivalent in Vista and 7 who can can I point a relatively old to examine the _basic_ things like switch from windows using the taskbar, expansion of the size of a window by dragging the edges, maximize and minimize, etc.?

I looked around my own Vista system, and I'll be darn if I can find such a thing. Admittedly, I haven't lived it myself since Windows 95, but I don't check that it existed in XP. Heck, even in Win95 I jumped through a lot because it was a scam of Apple, and I learned a lot of these 'Your visit to the Apple IIGS' skills on 88.

Where would it installed by default, and could I have uninstalled? If so, what would be use to reinstall? I don't see anything under "turn on or off windows features" and there is more no 'Add/Remove windows components.

I have provided links. If all goes well, they can help.

  • Tried to install a printer in windows 7 using a vista driver. Now, I get an error 0 x 00000002.

The problem occurred when trying to install a network printer on my laptop that is running Windows 7.  Now, when I select the printer in the menu "add a printer" and press "Next", I get 'Unable to connect to the printer' & 'the operation failed with error 0x00000002 ".
The printer is a network printer, connected to my desktop running Vista.  In addition, it is a Brother MFC-8300.
I can install the printer when it is connected directly to my laptop, but when I try to add it as a network printer, I have the problem that I have just described.  I should mention that I had to install a special version of the driver ("Brother MFC-8300 v.2") on my desk to solve another problem, I had with another computer on the network, which was running Vista-64 (see http://www.vistax64.com/vista-print-fax-scan/77226-brother-mfc-8300-printing-blank-pages.html).
So basically this is what happens:
    (1) I click on 'add printer '.
    (2) I click on 'Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.'
    (3) I select ' Brother MFC-8300 v.2 on VISTAMACHINE ' and click 'next '.
    (4) a "Windows printer Installation" window appears and says "connection to Brother MFC-8300 v.2 on."
    VISTAMACHINE"and underneath"seeks pilot."
    (5) a "Add a printer" window appears with an "X" inside a red circle next to the mention 'to connect to the printer.
"Windows cannot connect to the printer", and "Operation failed with error 0x00000002".
Does anyone know what I need to do?

Create two printers on the computer, the device sharing.  Make a word share name, do not use the name of the driver for sharing.  Spaces in the name to make it even more difficult when you set a SMB (local port) connection to the printer.  Set the Port for two printers shared the same (I assume that the device is connected to a USB Port).

Use the driver Vista Inbox for the part for 32-bit machines.  Use the driver provided Brother (Brother MFC-8300 v.2) share for 64-bit machines.

    Hello

I used the search option and found many threads on the downgrade from Vista to XP on Satellite P200 PSPB0E

All Toshiba drivers are published on the European driver Toshiba page.
Of course, you won't find additional software and programs like WinDVD, etc. insofar as these software are only a part of the Toshiba recovery image and as I guess are not to free them.

An important note; you need to install XP drivers as mentioned in the installation instructions txt file. This doc is also found on the Toshiba driver page!

Then you should not get any trouble of installation.

Best regards and happy new year 2008 :D

  • Downgrade from Vista to XP Pro

My company bought a laptop computer for us to use around the laboratory. The Dell Latitude D630 has been bundled with Windows Vista. We prefer to use Windows XP Pro to maintain consistency and ensure that all programs "home-made or home ' run as it should. What are my options to downgrade from Vista to Xp Pro? Thank you.

If you have a retail version of Windows XP with the product key, Yes. As long as there are drivers available for this computer to Windows XP from the manufacturer.

  • Need help with this problem without downgrading from Vista to XP pro.

OK so I have a problem, but it is in a common category, it is a rare problem as given that everywhere I look I can't seem to find someone who has the same problem.

Question #1: Heres Alright so my question downgrade from vista 64 bit of the month last to XP pro SP2... Well, I'm going through the process of installation very well, wipe the hard drive, make new partion (or how ever spell you it) etc. It starts the formatting, and it installs everything seems to be fine. Now when it comes to the reboot screen it counts down it restarts correctly now, this is where the problem occurs. During the restart of the process rather than continue through the installation process which should be, where it says "Press any key to boot from the CD" soon after that instead of going into the installation process it says "disc read error" or something of the sort just underneath. Help, please!

Question #2 also now that I re installed vista I did all good also, erased the hard disk (even I tried to install XP on) just to make sure they had no data on this. Well now, during startup it asks if I want "a previous version of windows" or "Windows XP" as if I double started somehow. Vista loads still very well when I choose it however. If I managed to do an install own success of XP it should fix right?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Kevin112,

Thanks for posting. Follow these steps on your XP disk.

    1. place your Windows XP installation CD and start to her...
    2. Press any button to start the Windows installation (don't worry... we do not actually use the installer at this point)
    3. wait a few moments for the installation program starts, when you see repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, and then press the R key
    4. wait until you see this screen, enter the number of your master installation. (Typically 1 to C:\Windows)
    5. press ENTER.
    6. If you are prompted to do so, enter your administrator password. If you don't have one, leave the field blank and press to enter.
    7. from the command prompt, type: chkdsk/r (note the space between chkdsk and / r)
    Allow it to complete undisturbed.
    8. remove the disc, then restart.

After completing this, then format it and try to reinstall XP again. As for your other question if completely format you your drive using XP you should not see the previous version of XP. The only reason you would see that it's the Vista BCD is located on a second hard drive in your computer. If this is the case and you want to do an install own format two readers please.

  • Downgrade from Vista...

So all I have is the Windows XP upgrade disk, and that's all I have. Can I downgrade Vista (for reasons of game) with this drive?

I don't want to buy another drive, and I don't have the recipt... so... yah.

    N °

There is no Downgrade from Vista to XP.

You need to the full disc/XP license, you need to do a clean return to XP installation.

Come on first, site of the manufacturer of your computer, check to see if your model computer has XP drivers available for it...

If the XP drivers are not available for your model, forget the idea.

If Yes, download and save to a CD or Flash drive.

Then buy a disc XP FULL and license.

Save all your data because it will be lost during the installation of XP.

Then follow the usual steps to do a clean install.

Once installed, reload ALL your other programs of original media, or download again.

Reload all drivers and utilities for your motherboard.
