SonicWall ProSeries remote user connects

I'll try to find our company Dell Sonic Wall logfiles,
After I log in the firewall, I'm opening - Log Monitor and filter to show the event for the last 30 days, well that is shows only the events for the current day, but I need the Info for the last few months.
The purpose of that is--I just need to know what specific IP connected remotely through the firewall that date and time.
Please let me know where I can find all that information, will be really appreciated.
Thank you!!!

It is not possible through the SonicWALL due to the buffer space limited on the SonicWALL. Something like this would require a syslog collector

Thank you

    Hi Roger,

Remote Desktop connection is a technology that allows you to sit at a computer (sometimes called the client computer) and connect to a remote computer (called the host computer) in a different location.

If someone wants to connect to your computer, you need to enable remote desktop on the computer.

Remote Desktop is always enabled?  Are members of the administrators to remote users group?  If this is not the case, they specifically have permissions to connect remotely?  This is done on a LAN or WAN (internet)?   You use a router?  If Yes, then by their nature routers act as incoming firewall so to solve this, you can safely disable Windows Firewall to ensure that it is not the culprit.

  • Can we share a link between the Group of users for a direct connection for remote desktop connection?

    Hello community,

I am running the scripts on one of our internal server - Windows Server 2008 R2, which I connect remotely by the connection service Office. My thought is, I want to share a link to users that are running on the machine local windows 7, which leads directly to this folder on the remote server where the script results are stored.

Ofcourse Remote Desktop connection is the name of the computer, the user name and password. Therefore, the link I want to share to open this dialog box asking for details and take the user directly in the folder.

I know that sounds like what we are doing to map a network drive. But just hoping if it means something.

    Looking for answers.

    Thank you

  • ASA5505 with 10 users. Need to connect 25 remote users with AnyConnect Client

    Hello to everyone.

I ASA5505 with license 10 users. I need to connect 25 remote users via SSL VPN (in my case cisco Anyconnect client). So I have to buy the license more security (ASA5505-SEC-PL =) for more then 10 simultaneous VPN connections on Cisco ASA 5505. Fix?

And the main question. What I need to order the user getting up-to-date (for example ASA5505-SW-10-50 =, or ASA5505-SW-10-UL =) license for my device Cisco ASA5505 in order to have 25 connections of concurrent remote users without restriction for each remote user?

You need the license SecPlus for increased remote access users. But you don't need an extra user license if you still only up to 10 internal systems.

  • Remote Desktop connection failed but successful ping

I am trying to connect via RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) of the SOURCE to the DESTINATION.

I welcomed the remote connections on the DESTINATION and added couple of users who are allowed to connect remotely.
I can ping DESTINATION SOURCE successfully.

None of the responses failed to control below SOURCE
    C:\ > ping-l 512 f - n 100

Strange thing is that I can remote login from DESTINATION to SOURCE, but not vice versa.

I don't remember making any additional settings to other machines that are connected to remote. Only one machine (the DESTINATION) to the question.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Thank you
    Biausse.

On the target computer, make sure that Port 3389 is not blocked by a firewall.  If you use Windows Firewall, go to the control panel Windows Firewall, check that "Don't allow Exceptions" is not checked in the "Général" tab, then click the 'Exceptions' tab and make sure there is a check mark next to "Remote Desktop".

You can also ensure that a program is to accept incoming remote desktop connections to raise a command prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd") and entering the following command:
    netstat - year |    find "3389.
If all goes well, you should see the following line returned:

  • Cannot print using Remote Desktop connection

I have a computer that we will called XP. XP was XP loaded on this subject. It is on a home network with ethernet etc. It has a USB Samsung CLP315 printer attached to it, which we will call SAMSUNG.  XP print SAMSUNG without any problem. SAMSUNG is shared and has the latest drivers.

    Configuration on XP
    Pilot # is 3.04.85:44
Port: USB001 virtual printer for USB Port
Sharing installed additional drivers Intel environment Windows 2000 or XP

Using Remote Desktop connection, I connect to my computer at work, that we will call the WORK that has Windows 7 above and is part of a local network. When you use Word for example on WORK, I should be able to print on SAMSUNG on XP. However SAMSUNG on XP does not present as a printer available. However, I can print from JOB printers shared on the local network or locally connected. Unfortunately, it is of limited use to me because I can not physically get the printed paper, or to know if the printed page correctly until the next day, I get to work.

I have the Settings Options on the remote desktop connection when I connect XP to WORK remotely. I think that this complies with the info I found on the knowledge base.

On the general tab, I have the correct name of the computer and user. I have "allow me to save credentials" deselected.

Local "resources" tab, "materials and resources local printers" and "Clipboard" are selected. Under 'More', 'smart cards' and 'Cards series' are selected. Similarly 'Readers' and 'Supported peripheral Plug - n Play' and their subitems are all selected.

    Tab programs not specified

If there is other information in the options that may be relevant, please advise and I will detail later.

Already XP used to via the desktop connection to remotely connect to another computer to WORK which took place of XP. When I'd do things on the WORK and wanted to print with SAMSUNG on XP, SAMSUNG has shown on the list of available printers and would print WORK jobs

On the local network at the office, WORK is connected and print to a shared printer on a computer showroom (XP) which is identical to the SAMSUNG for model # and driver. So by my way of thinking, the driver is already loaded and functioning.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Printer disappears or redirects to remote users

After installing a new server running 2008, remote users have their printers either disappear or get redirected.  This does not happen with all remote users, only a select few.   I'm unable to remove them and I often have to reboot to reinstall their printer (without restarting their computer or the computer that the printer is connected, the printer is not found in the directory).  How can this problem be solved?

    Hi Ronigld,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, it looks like you are facing a problem with the printer on user remote desktop on Windows 2008 Server.

  • Remote Desktop connection is missing in the accessories. How can I restore it?

Somehow the option "Remote Desktop connection" is no thus longer present under "Accessories".  Is there an easy way to restore it?

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

Try the steps to add remote desktop connection in the accessories and you may also be a
    administrator to do these steps.
    a. go to the "C:\Windows\System32" folder and find the file 'mstsc.exe '.
    b. right-click on the file and select "create shortcut".
    c. place this shortcut to the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu
    File Menu\Programs\Accessories\Communications.
    d. the system may ask to make this shortcut on the desktop. Click Yes, then simply
cut the shortcut on the desktop, and paste in the Communications folder.
    e. rename the shortcut "Remote Desktop connection".
  • The remote access connection manager could not start. Error 2: cannot find the specified file.

I've updated from vista to the most recent update.

I have windows vista Home premium 32-bit.
I want to get this matter resolved without having to reinstall as I have a few games installed it on this system.
The modem is not the issue as other computers connect very well.
Thanks for the help from Microsoft.
Recently, I tried to connect to the internet but that was not possible, because no connection could be established. The remote access connection manager does not start 2 error: could not find the specified domain. the RasMan-dependent services are started, but Manager logins remote does not start.

    Hi Mundilfar,

You can try the folliwng steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can try to scan the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

For more information, you can consult the following link.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Step 2:

If you are always faced with the question, then you can try to give permission for the Rasman registry key and see if it helps.

Important: The following steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

    Back up the registry

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. Locate the following subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan

    c. right click on the key and click Permissions.

    d. Select Advanced, click on owner tab, click your user name, and check the 'Replace owner of subcontainers and objects', click Apply - click OK.

    e. click the user or group name that you want to work with.

    f. check allow total control. Click apply and then click OK.

    g. restart the computer and check.

    Hope this information is useful.
