Sorry, we couldn t connect to Microsoft services

When I try to access my messaging app, I wonder to check my local password. When I do, I'm greeted by the error message: Sorry, we couldn t connect to Microsoft services for the moment.

I did what the error message suggests and sought corrections on the home screen, but no luck.

This happened about a week. Microsoft had questions a long time or is it a problem on my end?

Thank you

Ah, sorry. A system restore fixed the problem fast. Sorry for wasting your time.

  • Could not connect to the service user profile Service.

I have a little disconcerting problem.  Every day or two, I can not connect to Windows correctly.  When I start, select my account (which is also the unique administrator account) and enter my password, it spends an abnormally long time in the 'Starting Windows' screen, then I get the following message pop up in the notification area:

"Unable to connect to a windows service.
Windows could not connect to the service user profile Service.
This problem prevents limited users to logon to the system.
As an administrator, you can review... »

Shortly after this message, I get a windows error message saying:

    "Location is not available.
    C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible.
    Access is denied. »

This seems just a desktop computer black with only the Recycle bin icon on it, and the old Windows Start button in the taskbar.

While trying to understand what is happening, I looked into the application of 'Problem reports and solution' in the control panel and found that every time this happens, I also have a corresponding event of "Stopped working" "Routing and remote access.

I then restart using F8 at startup and choose the one that says something to the effect of "using the last good configuration known."

I'm not sure what that means at all, but I hope that one of you people can help.

    Thank you!

    Hello any Leafs fan,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

Looks like you're running only because of using a system restore to get back when your system is running. Now, you want to know what caused it.

Usually, when the above error occurs, it is due to a corrupt user profile.
The best way to fix this is to remove the user profile.

    • Go to the Start button
    • Right click on computer
    • Go to the properties
    • Go to Advanced System Properties on the left pane
    • Select the Advanced tab
    • Go to the user profile Section and click on the settings button
    • Find the profile for the that you want to remove and click Remove.  (It's the best way to remove the local profile in Windows Vista).
    • Connection again and you will get a new profile.
    • To get your Favorites return, go to the old profile in C:\users and copy the data manually.

The only way to identify what caused the error with the user profile is to try to reproduce it.

If you have not installed the update of Windows, then you can go to Windows updates and see what are the updates must be installed and manually download them and install them one at a time. Between the installation of the system, make sure you have a restore point that you can go back to if necessary. Once an update is installed, then close and open a session back (or reboot if required by the software update) and see if you get the error user profile. If the error occurs, then go to Services and see if the user profile service is running and set to automatic.

If you are not able to do anything when the problem occurs, then try to start in safe mode using the F8 key and see if the problem occurs in safe mode.

You can also look in the event viewer to see if there is no dealing with event profile user or Windows Update errors.
To get to the event viewer, you can type in eventvwr.msc in the box start the search. This will bring up the event viewer and you can view the summary logs and see what kind of errors you encounter.

Please post with your results and if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely, Marilyn

    Hi sanjeevkode,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.  As the question you posted typically associated with third party software / application that has its own way of program codes and call the corresponding system resources when installing and running. Therefore, I also suggest you to join the VMware Forums for the best support.

    VMware communities: http://communities.vmware.com/home.jspa

In the meantime I suggest you try these options / methods

IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft provides this information as a convenience to you. Proposed changes could lead to serious problems. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems would be solved as a result of the suggestions. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Option 1: If you go to computer management, and then to the list of Services and find the VMware authorization Service, it appears as stopped? If so, you need to start

Option 2: Try logging on as an administrator Local host during installation first workstation, rather than you connect with a domain ID

Option 3: The question can be caused also by your security program such an antivirus or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall and check the result again. You must enable security programs new that had disabled you

Option 4: The problem could be linked to a local or domain group policy. Make sure that the local account is defined as 'local user __vmware_user__' in the local Administrators group and the permissions of "Log on locally" and "Log on as a service.

The two parameters are available in the "* Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment *" branch of domain group policy or local.

Let me know if it worked.
    Hope it will be useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Power of Microsoft service and MMCSS causing startup freeze

I have Windows 7 set to automatically download updates from one day to the next.  He downloaded a few of the latest updates (lot of September), I installed them, and then the computer started to freeze during startup... it would lock up just before the login screen.

I went into safe mode and has a restored system.  Which corrects the problem.

Then again downloaded and installed updates.  I woke up in the morning to find my computer frozen during startup, just like before.  So I tried to do a restore of the system, just like before.

This time, the system restore did not work.  And after that, I couldn't even in safe mode... the computer freezes even when in safe mode.

Then I booted from the CD with Windows 7 and tried a restore of the system in August.  Who has not fixed the problem... the computer always locked up at startup.

Then I was the restoration of the image around August 20.  Who not has not yet fixed the problem.  I was able to get into safe mode now, but the computer still froze when I would start normally.  This has never been a problem before the latest updates of September.

I then reduced what services were originally the lock upward.  It turns out that if I turned off the power of Microsoft Service, my computer should start normally.  Alternatively, if I disabled the Multimedia Class Scheduler service, my computer should start normally.  But if I have these two services running at the same time, then my computer hangs at startup.

Right now I have the MMCSS off, but I can not all the sounds from my computer because of that, and the Windows Audio Service does not work.

Now I'm in a situation where I don't know how to solve this problem.

    Hello

    Method 1.
Let us scan SFC and check that it prevents this error to occur.
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file.

To do this, follow these steps:
    a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

More information on SFC scan found in this document:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2.
Try to update the audio drivers to verify.
Update your sound driver in Device Manager:
    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel
    b. click on system and Maintenance
    c. under Device Manager, click on devices and equipment display
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
    d. expand sound, video and game controllers
    e. right click on your Audio Controller, and then click Properties
    f. Select the driver tab
    g. click the Update Driver button.
    h. Select the option automatically search for an updated driver

Windows will now look for an update for your Audio drivers locally and on the internet and then will guide you through the process of installing the driver.

For more information see the links below:
