Sort in OBIEE answers - Desc Nulls last

I want to sort Desc on a column of answers, but want NULLS last. Where can I put it?

For example, I can write SQL
Select * from T1 by c2 Nulls first;
Nulls last is the default behavior in Oracle SQL

However, via OBIEE answers, I see when I use DESC Nulls are on top, they melt.
Where should I put it?

Hi shyamvaran,

What is the value of the parameter 'NULL_VALUES_SORT_FIRST' in your NQSConfig.INI file? By default it is off. Which is probably what your seeing i.e. If NULL values are, you sort in descending order, then you expect to see first NULL values.

If you want that null values finally appears when sorting in descending order, then on the above setting IT and bounce your services. That should take care of you.

Otherwise, you can do a work around. Create a column in your report. This is the formula the value IFNULL (C2, 'aaaaaaaaaaa'). This way it'll be first in alphabetical order is modified in descending order. Set this descending sort column and then set it to hidden. It must sort your report in the order you want, and it should be hidden from view.

Good luck and if you found this post useful, please give points!

Best regards

-Joe

  • OBIEE answers - excluding lines without affecting the overall totals

Is there a way to exclude lines after grouping in the report to OBIEE answers but without affecting the total general?

    Example:

    Product group real Plan

    --------------------------------------------------

    Furniture 50 100

    200 100 devices

    Tehnology 300 0

    ------------------------------------------------------

    400 150 total general

Lets say we want to remove the display since no sales technology was made, but we want to let the expected value.

    Table should look like:

    Product group real Plan

    --------------------------------------------------

    Furniture 50 100

    200 100 devices

    ------------------------------------------------------

    400 150 total general

When you use the steps in selection, total general will be modified (reduced to 200)

Is it possible to exclude from the ranks (Group) of the analysis, but to keep its values in the grand total?

If your "total" is produced by OBIEE when allow you it in a table view or rotate view not really.

Look at this static total without affecting the filters

  • Field is in DB/table alias, but I get error ORA904 use in OBIEE answers

Hello, I am very new to develop tools for RPD and OBIEE, so I'm struggling with something that I thought I did it correctly. I've added a new field in a database table and it can query the database. I've added it to the table of the RPD physical layer and I checked that there is now also in a the table alias. The field of physical table alias is used as the source for a logical column in the presentation layer. Everything looks good in the RPD. But when I try to pull up in a query in OBIEE answers I get a 904 error indicating that the column does not exist. I bounced, servers, deleted cookies and hide them, but nothing helps: I still get the error.

    What step I have missed?

    Thanks in advance!

    Rich

    Hi rich,

In the physical layer, right-click on the new column that you added and do an update rank of County. If its success, then the column has been imported successfully to the RPD. And we might have to watch layers MDB and presentation, to the question.

But above all, the error you mentioned occurs when the column is not correctly defined in the physical layer. If my guess is that the number of rows to update will fail. In this case check:
    1. the exact spelling of the column name. All traits underscores are correctly placed and there is no space attack / leak?
    2. the connection pool that you use in the physical layer, is that it points to the same PB in which the new column was actually added.

    Thank you
    Gerard

-After installation you could got the Presentation Services option in the start menu. Give credentials of connection and after cutting, you can see the answers on the upper side right.
-Type your system instead of the local host ip address
    http://ipaddress:9704 / Analytics

  • Is there a way to sort the list of subscribers by last name?

Is there a way to sort the list of subscribers by last name?

CurrentY it is sorted by full name, sort alphabetically by first name. I would prefer to sort by last name.

    Hello

Not within the system, unfortunately.  The solution is to export the report and manually separating full names into first and last name columns to get what you're after.

It is currently on our wish list to improve in the future.

  • Limitation of OBIEE answers

    Hello

I have Oracle Business Intelligence 10.1.3.4.1 and I find the problem as in point 3. (http://obiee-blog.info/answers/some-obiee-answers-limitations/).
"Unable to display the start date and the end date in the report based on the operator between, because with this operator, you cannot define a variable presentation. In this case, it between Quick Date does not work properly and is a known bug in OBIEE answers. »

This problem is resolved in any version of obiee? You know a patch which solution?

I don't have that you're talking about what bug?

anyway have you tried that... where you can assign variables of presentation for the date between... (bypass)

Now you can display those values in the story...

  • Conversion of OBIEE answers / interactive dashboards in .pdf or .xls files

    Hi all;
I'm a freshie here as well as in the Business Intelligence industry. Currently, no prior knowledge of this tool, I work in the OBIEE answer.

Is it possible for us to convert .pdf or .xls OBIEE response report/dashboard files? Other tools such as Cognos and Business Object have their own utilities to convert the tool reports in these formats. I believe OBIEE also are essential, but so far I couldn't find it.

You can download reports on the dashboard to PDF format and HTML of:

Printable version click the icon at the bottom left and PDF or HTML.

You can download individual reports on dashboard:

  • How to use invites OBIEE answers as well as in the dash prompt?

    Hi Experts,

I have a question about the guests in OBIEE. In one of my report, I have created a quick analysis and dashboard part and placed in the dashboard. In the analysis, I applied a filter for which the given condition is invited. And in section dashboard_prompt for the same column, I gave the condition - equals. The report is the recovery right answer for this condition.

But my query is, can I give a default value for the filter in the criteria section. Inviting the dashboard to confirm if select different value other than the default and run the report. It displays only the report that has been filtered for the default value or it will take the new value and run for him.

    I thank in advance
    Stephanie

    Hello

Yes, it replaces the values of analysis based on prompt values dashboard filter.

Ex: in your analysis filter you have defined as "India" column count and your fast selected value of dashboard is "Singapore" then the o/p will be replaced by the value of guest dashboard.

    example of O/P:
    Country amount
    Singapore, 10000

    Thank you
    Deva

  • My address book in v. 32.0 will not sort correctly for example by first, last, etc. ; How can I fix this?

My address book has 106 names. I selected to sort by ascending by display name. But it will not fully sort this way; on the contrary, the names appear as lots, within each of them, sorting is (mostly) correct. When I click on the name above, sort allows to switch between ascendants and descendants, as expected, but the change occurs within each batch apparent rather than global. Also, it seems that in 1 or several lots, the display name is not what I chose, for example first, change or display.

In other words, display is a long list of names, but it's really defined names, which are treated as such. I want to be in a 'set' and properly sorted as such.

If I understand correctly, modules include different ways to add functionality to Thunderbird. They are Extensions, themes and Plugins. So, you could say that the lightning is a part of the extension of a wider selection of modules.

  • How to sort files in most recent records; last updated sorts by month (1, 2, etc.)

Recent update has changed the sorting of files in my files - now sorts by # first date, i.e. the month, then all the files of January appear first (or December if I reverse).  They were all sorted by "most recent" as is my Outlook Inbox.  Can't find "most recent" or "recency" sort.  Help, please!  It is a mess and is complicating my job and wasting my time searching.

I'm not at a computer vista right now, so my instructions is perhaps a little far, let me know if they are, and I'll fix them.

In the case in question, on the top bar where you click to organize by name, size, etc. do a right-click, and I don't really know what's going to come up (perhaps a long list of options with check marks next to them) and look for an option 'creation date' or selection, which will add the creation date in the top bar , so you can click on it, and it will sort the file there, so created the most recent thing must be upward and the thing created a long time ago should be down.
