SOUL compositions AE

in CS5.5, I could choose several comps. Now, in CS6, I used all the combinations like mouseclick and shift/alt/strg, etc., without success. The only function is to double click that puts me in the main menu after that one file is assigned in the queue, which means that I have to go once more in the menu input selection. I monitor something?

hbernhard - I suspect that you have been caught in the wrong box. Nothing in this area has changed between CS5.5 and CS6, but you might be getting confused by the multiple ways to add a model of EI to SOUL.

It has in fact two windows of different dialogue that SOUL can show when you import a model of After Effects or Premiere Pro sequence.

The full version of the dialog box looks like this and appears only when you choose file > add After Effects Composition or file > add Premiere Pro sequence.

The smaller version of the dialog box looks like this, and it appears when you are using more generic file > Add Source and choose a project AE or Premiere Pro, or when you call the Add Source command even of any other method (keyboard shortcut, double click in the Panel, or queue by dragging a file AE or Premiere project from the file browser in the queue).

In addition to appearance, the other major difference between the two dialogues is the problem you encountered: the smaller dialog box does not selections several compositions or sequences. You can only select one from the list in this dialog box. We are aware of this limitation and it is on our long list of improvements, we would like to bring to the SOUL. Please do not stop reminding us that you would like to see this feature in a future version of the SOUL.

BTW, there is another way to add comps and sequences of SOUL, and it's dragging from the project Panel in AE or Premiere Pro to the queue Panel in the SOUL. This bypasses the dialogue altogether, and you can add as much as you want to select and drag from the project Panel. (Tip: as usually I AE fullscreen and can't see the window of the SOUL, as I do is select the comps, I want to queue, start dragging, and then while the mouse button is pressed I use the hotkey Alt + Tab to switch to the SOUL.) Drag objects remain active, and I can drop them into the queue of the SOUL Panel) be sure to save your AE project before dragging the comps, as did SOUL only refers to the last saved version of the AE project.

  • The absence of H264 is getting really annoying. SOUL is massively not reliable to me, and first load compositions AE takes forever.

    So for some reason any tech Adobe decided to remove the H264, although it is an industry standard for Vimeo, Youtube, stream delivery as Extreme Reach and local BluRay companies controlling companies such as Replicopy.

    I'm about two steps from dumping that whole program, because the lack of reliability of my work on end of Adobe's embarrassing for me. It takes me 3 - 4 times to return something for a customer view / approve him. Why 3 or 4 times? Because the SOUL definitely likes to remove audio, insert frame weird solarized, or just lock-up seeds and say it will take another 35 + hours to make a 90 minute video that taken after 12 hours to render the CS6.

    I won't have to make a file DNxHD for friends/customers to look at. Not practical when it is 18 x compression H264 Youtube size. 109 GB and 6 GB.

    I'm losing my patience here, and I'm out of ideas. I found no reliable way to make more leave After effects. The more reliable, but it is still a shot-in-the-dark, that's when I load up in the queue of rendering a file DNxHD or GoPro Cineform then then transcode with SOUL, that is a silly and useless workaround. I just converted a DNxHD 109 GB file into a file H264 of SOUL with glitches at random, once again. Other lost 90 minutes. I have no idea of f ' n what to do next, I'm out of ideas. Try again the GoPro? Make an another DNxHD and transcode to H264 and cross just my fingers that work 14 hours of rendering?

    In short, the question:

    Windows 7 computer, CS6 ran without any problems.

    Try to make the short clips for customer approval as well as compositions of 90 minutes of EI through SOUL (running in who just got dumped audio problems, executives spilled/solarized and the program just lock up).

    What do guys do? You guys how would export a documentary of 90 min for a master BR? They do not take GoPro or DNxHD. They take H264. All the world run into problems I described here? Y at - it a patch/solution? Is there another intermediate codec that isn't incredibly huge?

    Here is where I am:

    -Export of EI by SOUL directly to H264-> error City (sometimes missing audio parasites, randomly, or the program just locks up completely)

    --Exporter export of EI as DNxHD, then transcode to H264-> city of error. The random glitches. This makes 12 times today by changing the settings every time, never getting to work.

    -Export of EI as GoProCineform, then transcode to H264-> WORKED!

    Now, if this isn't some stroke of luck, all my customer previews must be made twice (via an intermediate codec that is MASSIVE, almost 30 x more big issues than H264) due to infinitely wise Adobe decision to drop the H264, which I'm sure makes sense for someone somewhere and was not a capricious bet made by two drunken programmers.

    Hi all, I searched online for a clear answer to this, but have not been able to get a firm answer - probably because there are so many scenarios that require unique approaches.  But here's my question:

    I am creating an After Effects animation which will be 1920 x 1080 for presentation festival of film and distribution online, Blu - Ray, DVD, etc..  It was only in animation, so I'm not need match the frame rate.  So the question is, can I build my initial project with the settings of composition of 24 frames per second, or 23.976 fps, or is it still important?  A project built at 24 fps will make out easily to 23.976 for bluray, or is it better to start implementing model 23.976? Could I also well build the comp at 29.97 FPS, then just go out to different cadences of SOUL without significant problems?

    I would use 23.976, especially if it happens in Blu - Ray.   I bet that 23.976 would work at festivals, but first check!  They should have delivery characteristics.  The web doesn't care; It's about rate of weft-agnostic, so it is not interlaced and progressive.  That would be bad for the web.

    It is to be expected. All DynamicLink functions require the same version level. Only things CC 2015 will in 2015 on the SOUL.

  • Rendering 3D AE projects in the SOUL

    I'm currently finding stuff on After Effects, like 3D motion tracking.

    Now, I want to make the video but as soon as I go to the SOUL (Adobe Media Encoder) 3D text turns the back of 2D text.

    So now I have to try it to render after effects itself but who is literally taking me now a full day (30 second video).

    I've seen this problem on several forums now and none of them have been solved. I hope to get an answer soon!

    We need the details of your workflow. I assume you mean tracking camera that AE has no such thing as 3D motion tracking. I suppose that you have added a camera and a text layer to a scene. There should be no harm in this workflow if you preview your project by selecting the view camera activates in the Composition Panel and that you use the TEA to render using a standard preset that corresponds to the size of the image and the cadence of your comp.

    If you use traced to the RADIUS that you may have other issues. There is a bug when using text rendering and extruded raytraced in the latest version of CC 2015. Workaround for render raytraced projects is to use the Cue to restore and configure the output to the default Lossless format module, and then add the rendered file to the SOUL for the rendering of a delivery format suitable as h.254 by using one of the standard presets that corresponds to the size and the pace of your comp.

  • We are allowed to use a composition of rendering that was created in the free 30-day trial demo AE?

    I get the cloud creative subscription in two weeks and two things that I want to know is:

    A. I created a second 30 made of composition that I use to promote the new album Soul of my friend on YouTube/Facebook/etc... using the free trial of 30 days after effects CC.  I think that adobe would have the ability to watermark of these compositions, so I don't want to enter into any legal problems.  Created trade like the one I just mentioned usable content based on the software of free trial 30 days?

    B. If you cannot, when I pay in two weeks for the subscription of creative cloud AE, can use this project even if I have a new rendering it?  Are there technical problems watermark transfer paid a composition of the free demo for 30 days subscription version?

    There is no watermark or any other restriction. Adobe has no control over your content. Not strictly speaking, not legally. Or any that would be relevant for the use of specific content as it is available in libraries CC, but only as a trial user, you have access to free content, in any case.

  • SOUL take of time coding?

    I export four videos by the SOUL that I have edited in AE CC 2015. These are videos of gameplay of 16 minutes of terrariums at 1080p60fps. It's that the videos will take about 2 hours and a half of each export completely.

    Is this good? My hardware is more than capable to export that much faster...

    You should do this in Premiere Pro. It'll be much faster. After effects isn't for editing is for compositing and animation. You create shots in AE you can not do anywhere else and you change with body. Indeed, you are trying to drive nails with a screwdriver. It will work, but it is not very effective.

  • Background black compostion on export of SOUL

    I'll start by saying, this is the first time that I started to use the SOUL.

    The background of the composition is not supposed to make because you might want to make transparent. A solid or the layer of form behind the things, that's what you use.

    Adobe Media Encoder encodes After Effects compositions using their current appearance. There is no control the appearance of the composition, with one exception; There is no equivalent for the controls of the render settings in the queue to return effects after. If you want some proxies to be used, or not, set up your publication for the desired configuration before that you encode in Adobe Media Encoder.

    The exception to this rule is Guide layers. In Adobe Media Encoder, right-click on an After Effects composition and choose settings from the Source, in this dialog box you can control whether or not Guide layers in the composition are rendered.

  • Transition issues when rendering SOUL CC 2014?

    I have a project of first Pro CC 2014.  It uses transitions on still clips and everything looks good in the preview window, but when I send to SOUL mixes changes somehow, and the images seem to pop on or off and sometimes darken on the previous image in strange ways.  I went to help the Mercury software engine in both applications.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

  • Why won't start SOUL encoding?

    I made 2 movies in AE. These have exactly the same characteristics (due to QuickTime player).

    One of the films directly converts transmitted (in H.264), but when we try to encode other just SOUL does not start.

    It says 'encoding of output 1', but no progress.

    Finally found a solution.

    The problem seems to relate to my project of effects after.

    So I imported the Compositions in a new project and made again (same preset codec).

    The films resulting convert seamless in Adobe Media Encoder.

    A strange adventure, but I survived.

  • Cannot send AE Comp to SOUL

    None of the methods of work for the dispatch of a composition of SOUL. Import from SOUL gets stuck in the dynamic window while "loading project.aep" and it never ends. Using the command in the drop of AE Composition just doesn't do anything. I see activity in AE in the monitor of activity for a minute or so I guess it closes just try. I also tried to put the composition and it is active in a new project with the same results.

    I use the last CC on a Macbook Pro OS X 10.10.2 retina and had the same problem to 10.10.1.

  • Why my nested compositions have worse video quality each nested layer I have add?

    Mac AE v.13.2.0.49 with sequences using mpeg-4 h.264, 4 deep compositions. Preserve Nested resolution covers compositions using original sequences.

    At no time is the small film. All images is equal or less than 100% scale. Cannot read all of the final model. What the devil I'm doing wrong?

    There is another reason to use ScreenFlow... you can fail in the application. You have no need to dial previously to images of time remapping. Collapse transformations would help, but your biggest problem is the position by half a pixel. You killed just resolution of fine lines and contours. Rendering time-remapping of the images, especially if this sequence is in motion in the framework, is also detrimental to the resolution because managers will be mixed. Make sure you try different blend modes of chassis.

    If I had your original footage, I'd start in Premiere Pro, create a named sequence timed for Audio or something like that. Add my images and add my audio track, you worry what anyone, put a cup repositioning of each place, I need to reconfigure something, use the tool of rate change in the body to readjust the segments to match the audio. When the time delay to the Audio sequence is completed, I would probably start a new sequence in body and drag the timed for Audio sequence in comp, add the rest of my sound effects and animate the position of the sequence to focus on the points that need emphasis. I would either import this sequence to AE to add effects, that I couldn't do in the body or I would like to add an image for the cursor file and animate the position according to the needs of the organization.

    Degradation when you move or the layers of the scale is inevitable if you don't not accurate line to the top of your film with the pixel grid. Scaling of needs to give you a multiple of your pixels eact, either 200% so 1 pixel becomes 4 to maintain good edges on the single pixel wide lines if they align with the grid of pixels perfectly. Otherwise, no flaking will degrade the image.

    If I were starting from scratch I use a HD monitor size on my system, select accessibility options make the fonts and lines in the app, I've been working on bigger. capture of ScreenFlow, record audio, import, to the flow of the screen, add my annotations, mouse clicks, and other call outs in ScreenFlow, readjust the screen capture ScreenFlow, all my repositioning and chipping in ScreenFlow, then export a DI for the Poles in AE or body or simply make the product final with the SOUL. You would be done in hours instead of days.

  • SOUL CC renders progressive (non-interlaced) AE projects

    We have updated CC 2014.2 last week and are now blocked without fields - and as a broadcaster broadcasting we desperately need to 1080i interlaced files!

    Here´s details:

    For a fast template, I created a simple project of EI (CS6) with a blue bar around the Center.

    This same composition is open in CS6 and TEA 2014.2 SOUL and made with identical settings:

    During the last week, we did everything we could to convince SOUL 2014.2 to make fields - but we didn t succeed...

    The only solution is:

    1. Open the AE composition in PremierePro
    2. interpret as "upper field".
    3. Place it in a sequence
    4. Send this sequence to the SOUL

    Then SOUL makes interlaced...

    • I m not talking videomaterial interlaced or progressive but on field of animations AE handling himself in the SOUL
    • under "What / Source ' he said 'progressive', but you can´t change the interpretation on an AE composition
    • in SOUL CS6 this said "progressive" as well but that makes the fields
    • We tried with several different projects and compositions on different computers (PC and Mac)
    • scary: with rendering the same sources same parameters produced different files in SOUL CS6 vs SOUL 2014.2
    • It s not only the thing of field / progressive - 2014.2 SOUL mp4 files are half size of SOUL CS6

    I just ran a test and here is what I found.

    Rendering of CC 2014 using the tail to return and separating the fields in the project panel give you an interleaved file. Rendering of the SOUL and by using h.264 you do not get a result interlaced, even if you check the box of the separate fields. I have also tried Jpeg2000 quicktime of TEA with the same result... none made progressive. I even tried to double the pace in the SOUL, once again no progressive rendering. The only way to get a progressive rendering in the latest version of the SOUL is by setting the frame rate of comp in AE to double the standard frame rate. In your example 50 frames per second.

    Here's how I test for interlacing.

    If the video is interlaced so there are different positions for your blue bar for each frame if you drag your film progressive in the new comp window, check that the model is the same rate as the frames (25 fps in your example) and that AE correctly interprets the images, and then double-click the rate of comp. If you ride in a model at a time, and each picture is different then you have interlaced images but it is interlaced without scanning empty lines. After effects has tried to fill these scanning lines as long as I can remember.

    Looks like it's a bug. I'll file a report and suggest you do the same thing. In the meantime, if you use the TEA to render deliverables then the solution is to double the pace in the model before you add it to the queue.
