  By default, Firefox diverts most of the links that open in new windows and the automatic pop-up windows in a new tab.   You can force Firefox to treat all the same pop-up windows, they have these feature or not. This requires a visit in the topic: configuration preferences editor. My apologies for what will seem like too much details, but there are 3 related settings if I want a list of the people together.

AKA, I have no need to watch a white background in my active windows, which is nice!
