Space required for Vista SP1 and SP2?
Hello
I have an old Windows Vista Basic Home Edition machine, I bought in 2006. I have not installed upgrades to SP1 and SP2 again, but I want to get them now. Drive C, where Vista is installed, has only 3 GB of space left free. Could someone please guide me if I should proceed with the upgrade or have more space? How much space would take these updates?
Thanks in advance.

Hey HKansal
you really need to buy a bigger hard drive
Make sure you have enough disk space to install SP1 (even though much of that space will be recovered after the installation). If you need a free space on the disk, go to onlinestrategies to free disk space .

Impossible to install Windows Vista SP1 and SP2
original title: update to vista SP1 and SP2 problem
I have SP1 and SP2 update for vista problems. I completed the destructive recovery and try to install the updates for my new system, but I get the error message and cannot complete the installation.
Have you tried the manual download for SP1? Usually, if an update fails then by downloading and installing manually usually does the trick.
I was able to find a set of steps for you to follow on the problem of Windows Update. I hope it helps.

Lenovo T61 - 7663-AY2 uninstall Vista SP1 to SP2 and now cannot restart
Hello community,
I did something wrong with my Lenovo computer.
I tried to upgrade vista SP1 to SP2 in order to continue to receive updates from windows, but I failed to improve.
I read on a forum that to go if you have some difficulties to move from SP1 to SP2, the best thing to do is to uninstall SP1, in order to re-install again and after the update to SP2 is easy.
So I uninstalled Vista SP1: KB936330 from my laptop and now it cannot restart. I'm facing the famous! 0xc01a001d! registry error.
I tried all content restoration factory (MS DOS, restoring from the last restore point), but it cannot restart.
Is there a usual thing do in this case, before the start in the order, he returned with the factory setting?
My warranty expired on September 21, 2010, and I bought my computer in France while I am in England now.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Mitch

Windows Vista SP1 uninstall SP2 and viseversa
My laptop will not automatically updated Vista SP1 or SP2. It still fails. I decided to download the standalone update from another computer, and then download and install on my laptop. The problem I encounter is when one is installed it is uninstalled and the automatic updates icon opens with an important update that ends up being Vista SP1 or SP2, whatever one is in front of the update installed. Can someone help me understand how to solve this problem?
Canela,
See the MVPRobear Dyer response to a previous post this month involving problems with Windows XP without the Service Pack.
His advice, I think, you can keep it as a reference with Vista

installation of Vista SP1 and SP 2 problems
I am running Dell Inspiron 1420 and Vista Home Premium 32. While I've been running Microsoft Update, I seem to have missed completely from SP1 and SP2 2 SP notes that SP-1 must be installed before SP 2. However, I was able to find download SP1 - directly or through Microsoft update. Attempts to use the results of Microsoft Update by repeating the errors (usually 8024402C). Following the instructions and suggestions (for example Internet Explorer settings, network settings, etc.) has not solved the problems. Direct download by train (one which? 64 or 86?) always ends in IE not to open the desired Web pages.
By following the alternative route, note that while Vista is OEM and system recognizes, it is enabled, the check validation reject my product number (which means I cannor MS Access support).
Help! Where can I get SP 1?
Please note that I have tried just about every MS support site recommendations!
OEM licenses are not free MS supports.

system essential updates for vista SP1
Hello everyone, I recently bought a HP Compaq CQ60-305AU with Vista Home Premium SP1 and according to HP system, ESUpdate for vista SP1 pre installed version 1.0.0 . Since then, I've installed all the updates including SP2 Windows. My question is with the software & driver HP web page
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?OS=2093&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=nz&lang=en&product=3938340 there are a number of (System essential updates for vista SP1) available, do I have to install these updates or only the last has a current 6.00 version or do I need to install one of them, now that I have installed SP2? Any help would be appreciated.
If all your hardware is working properly, I wouldn't worry on this subject. Critical updates for SP1 should be included in SP2. In addition, normally SP2 will not install if you need updates, which must be made beforehand.
