  If sailing, you mean browsing the web, you can keep a tab open with youtube play while browsing in another tab in Safari and most other browsers.

  Alternatively you can use Slide on if your iPad supports, to have the application Youtube game open and drag in Safari or other supported browser sliding from the right side of the screen. YouTube does not support the full Split view, so the more you will get is a narrow bar with the inside browser.

  No, you will need to unplug it.

  When you connect the Clip on your computer it will mount the file system on the drive and get exclusive access to it. So, it won't be is no longer possible for the Clip itself to play music.

  However, it is possible to buy a load only USB cable (a cable without the data pins connected). With such a cable, it will be possible to listen to music on the drive even if it is charging through the computer. It is not possible to transfer files with this cable well.

  Another option is to load with an AC - USB charger instead.

  Hello britoso and welcome to the forum.

  The Clip cannot read music when it is connected and communicates with a computer USB port. If you want to keep the battery from flowing and still be able to listen to music, you will need to get a USB charger or try one of the methods described in these discussions:

  • Listen to your music while loading using PC
  • Player unit then only plugged into usb port
