  I got this computer for years with no problems. I use external speakers connected to the audio jack on the back. Once you plug in external speakers (or headphones), the internal speakers are disabled as expected.

  Last night my PC automatically installed the anniversary of Windows Update (update feature Windows 10, 1607 version). After this update, now my two internal speakers and external speakers are working at the same time! I can't turn off the internal speakers without also turning off my external speakers. The volume affects both sets of speakers as well. I tried to disable audio and re-clearance but that did not help.

  How can I go back to my original audio behavior where connect speakers external (or headphones) to the rear Socket 3.5 mm would automatically turn off the internal speakers? Thank you.

  I couldn't select no other devices in reading or recording tab becuse it is said that they are "not connected". Update drivers, said that later I have already.

  Windows 10. So I did some research on a Microsoft support forum and I found this solution:

  • Access the device driver software manager - right click on IDT high definition audio CODEC - updated.
  • Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" - choose "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
  • Select "High Definition Audio Device" (not IDT high def...)  This is important) and click Next. You get a warning message but answer 'yes '.
  • Once windows have updated driver software, try to play the audio again and check.

  I am trying to access the internet via a live ethernet cable from my router, except the computer im trying to use is new to the House, but is under xp. I also have a laptop which I use to ask these questions, which accesses the internet via a wireless connection. I open 'Internet Properties' and entered my IP address and I am now looking for my external and internal port numbers try to connect. Is it and most easy way? I'm on the right track?   If you really have a router, then this router should affect your computer all the configuration settings that it needs to connect to the internet (or local) automatically via DHCP.  The "TCP/IP properties" correct settings on your computer must be set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".  If your router is configured correctly, it will automatically load these settings, such as all you need to do is to connect your computer to your router.  If this does not work, then you must download the manual of your router and verify its configuration.

  We have little cheapie speakers who have just a plug in his port at the back of our office of a1747c.  I would also use the speaker inside on our w19e monitor, but we have never seen the monitor needed an audio cable so far - just thought that the speakers were broken.  Is it possible to use both?  Where I plug each cable, both on the monitor and Tower?  Also, if it works not with speakers of a taken shortly (they are micro innovations, but no model, no or whatever it is), what type of speakers would work?  We are open to buying new.  Thank you!

  Can anyone point me in the direction of a comparison of the performance of the real world into an iMac 5 k SSD internal flash drive and an external (ideally a lightning strike) and one on usb? Basically, I want to know how I give you performance by buying a small built in SSD and putting most of the data on an external.

  The brand data only real bench I've seen are of 2012 by BareFeats (http://barefeats.com/hard154.html), which means SATA rather than PCIe on internal and Thunderbolt vs Thunderbolt-2 on the outside.

• Pavilion dv7-4285dx: cannot BOOT/POST/VGA external and internal LCD is dead (cracked)

  I cracked the screen of my HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx so bad that I can't read anything on the subject. I'm trying to start to an external monitor to the VGA port, but never to get a signal.

  I tried the key switch monitor, but that does nothing. I tried to unplug the LCD internal of the motherboard - not different. I tried a CMOS reset by removing the laptop battery, remove the CMOS battery, cut the power and hold the power button / stop for > 1 minute, then by restarting with external LCD just attached, but STILL no video on the VGA port.

  The video card is OK, because it starts with Windows and then I have the video on the external monitor.

  Although it is good that I can use the monitor to post once Windows starts, I need to have the video when the BIOS starts to change.

  Does anyone have another suggestion how I can get the BIOS to detect and display external VGA at boot time?

  Hello everyone!

  I use a 8470w with Windows 8 Pro EliteBook and the latest drivers on the HP site. I do not use any docking station, but an over-pants AMD graphics card.

  I know that the laptop can support up to five screens, when you use a docking station. But I want to just use a monitor to the VGA port, a screen on the DP and the display internal for laptop.

  When I try to set up a desktop extended across all three screens (everyone gets recognized by the laptop), Windows tells me that it is an invalid configuration. I have to turn off an external display to use the construction in the screen.

  How can I use the screen of laptop computers and two external screens on VGA and DP together?

  And what kind of Port, Docking-Station/displays are generally supported by the EliteBook 8470w?

  I solved the problem by myself and it's a very simple solution.

  I just had to use an active DP-DVI adapter online. It has something to do with not enough sources of clock in the AMD Chip.

• Speakers XPS 9000: Internal or not?

  I recently set up my new XPS 9000.  I bought a dell with speakers monitor which is connected to the Tower via HDMI.  I tried to turn on the internal speakers, rather than using the monitor, but am not able to.  I went to the sound settings and see the "speakers/headphones" option listed as a playback device, but the activate option is grayed out when I right-click.  I can turn off the monitor as a reading device, but cannot activate the default speakers.  I wonder if this machine doesn't just have internal speakers?  Someone else have this machine and is able to hear playback through internal speakers?

  There are no internal speakers on the Studio XPS 9000 Tower.  You will have to use headphones or monitor speakers to get all the sounds outside a beep.

  You have a fluorescent lamp next to your computer which could be emitting a rf? This could interfere with the microphone.

  Click levels (tab)

  check if the value is 100% >

  Fills up my computer so I want to spend all my photos and my LR work from an external hard drive. I read some of the forums on any move. I copied the folder that my images are on the external drive. I also copied the Lightroom folder in the Finder (containing .lrdata and .lrcat things) on the external drive. If I delete these two folders of my computer and just locate in LR from external HDD (when all points of question marks pop up on the pictures) then everything will work as before?

  I use LR 5.7.1 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. The hard drive is a 2 to Samsung M3 (if any, everything that makes a difference).

  Hi Richard,

  If you copied the folder catalog Lightroom and previews of Lightroom on the external hard drive, you can then go ahead and delete the folder in your computer's internal drive.

  Also, please make sure you have Photos copied to the same folder structure as it was on your internal drive.

  Once you launch Lightroom from the external drive, then you should reconnect only images in Lightroom with the images of the external drive.

  You could, but internal users would cross the bridge PCOIP.   I' always found lve easier just have a broker for external users.

  Asked me to come with a CEP for a client who wants a new system APEX is accessible to internal and external users. The client security team want to have two separate copies of the request for the APEX and both copies of the auditor of the APEX on separate databases on two separate servers from Weblogic to support different security requirements for both internal and external users. I don't think that is necessary as APEX should be able to impose conditions depending on what type of user is connected, by questioning the cookie passed in which could contain a flag to say whether the user is internally and externally. In addition, CAE can be used to further restrict external access.
  
  The middleware for the customer solution is managed by a third party, who have made the following recommendations:
  
  The domestic channel requires SSO to configure on WebLogic while the outside lane. Internal users must be validated on Active Directory, with RSA Authentication Manager used for external users. We cannot set up a listener APEX instance to use and not to use SINGLE sign-on at the same time. Two applications are necessary.
  
  Now, I understand from my understanding limited the listener of the APEX, it is possible to implement different rules depending on the type of user to access. However, might just as well not be managed from Magnatune APEX? We could write a custom authentication procedure that verifies again road and the SSO user authentication cookie or otherwise, as required.
  
  So my question is this: can it really be necessary to implement two versions of an APEX application, with two distinct on different servers APEX headphones, to meet the security requirements of separate here? Ultimately at the end of the day if that's what the customer wants, we have to build it, but I'm looking to reassure them via a CEP that won't be necessary. I think that the seller of hardware/middleware recommend that the client just because they do not know available in APEX itself custom authentication options.

  Hi Graham,

  It's a matter of people paranoid how and to what extent they trust their own infrastructure. Things could be easier than to split the environments, but I don't know if I just depends on the cookie because cookie can be easily rigged. But I think that the following architecture would be safe:
  1 internal users connect APEX listener somehow security team requires, come to APEX and maybe be identified using the internal IP address (range). To simulate the INVESTIGATION period should be difficult for external users.
  2. external users connect APEX listener through a defined gateway, preferably a proxy. All future requests through this gateway would be considered external users.
  You may add additional logic to the proxy, for example use something like 'mod_headers' in Apache HTTPD to add a page header to requests, so that you may identify as external users.
  You could, of course, also put it the other Tower and allow internal users to use some proxy to enforce certain rules of IP based address, or perhaps a few additional references as authentication for access to the proxy (which again could be transparent user in AD-configuration, at least if you stick with IE).

  You can easily implement the separation in your custom authentication process. But this architecture also allows some other compromise: even if someone does not trust your application logic to handle two types of application successfully, you can also use the proxy to enforce the specific call for an application id. Certainly you don't need to duplicate the infrastructure...
  Most of the companies already have a proxy for external users, for example to activate SSL and to hide other internal resources, for load balancing,... so I think you just need to put some configuration of the existing infrastructure and end up needing no component additional. Even if there is no proxy and yet, it would be an element of very light weight, easy to handle.

  So far, all this has nothing to do with the earpiece of the APEX. It's 'just' a web front-end for the instance of the APEX in the database. I wouldn't put a logic of network security in this service, but the split things upward front. The APEX listener can be patched to add some logic, but which was not supported.

  I think that this would work and should be sufficient for most of the safety requirements.

  I have a router ADSL with a public IP assigned, preforming NAT. This leads to a 506th PIX which leads to a Web server. The entire interior of the ADSL is on private IP addresses.

  I want to allow external users access to the Web server on port 80.

  I inwardly and outwardly put up ICMP connectivity (for testing only) and it works correctly.
