• Issue of special characters in text fields in forms created with the ID

  Hello

  I created a form document with ID.

  The problem with special characters will appear after you export to interactive PDF files.

  When filling text field, character special (Polish language in my case specials) are replaced by the squares.

  I don't know if it is a problem of ID (and I should encoding when creating pdf somehow) or Acrobat/Reader problem (tried both and also in Polish or English versions).

  Some help would be appreciated.

  If you use SQL Loader, then you can call pl/sql functions, placing them between quotes along the column of data loaded, like this for example.

  This is usually due to the function 'Snap to Grid' is enabled. It can be accidentally activated via the keyboard, so this may have been what happened.

  You want to use special with Acrobat Pro DC on PC or Mac?

  I will suggest you to use the application in the table of characters on a PC. There is also an equivalent application for Mac: Character Palette. Access you it via editing > special characters, or check its box in the menu Preferences/international/input system. You can use the keyboard Viewer (check its box in the menu Preferences/international/input system) to see which key does what.

  I am currently working on a PDF form in Acrobat Pro for a small company, and they asked if there was a way to limit the amount of text that you can put in each text box to the actual size of the box. For example, when entering in your information, the text should be limited to the size of the text box and allows more to be written after that.   You may need to limit the size of the text by making a right click on the text field, and then select Properties.

  The dialog box "Text field properties", go to the 'Options' tab and then enter the number of characters you want in the option "limit of characters.

  It seems silly that it is so easy to define the maximum number of characters in a text box (IE. Properties > Options > characters limit of X) but that there is no easy equaivalent to the minimum number of characters? At least not in Acrobat 9 in any case, don't know versions ever!

  That was a rhetorical question. So what you really want, it's if the field is not empty, it would take at least a minimum number of characters. What is the minimum number that you want to apply? You'd probably want to use a custom for this validation script, but what exactly do you want to happen if the user enters only three characters, but the minimum you want is four? Should be rejected three characters who were seized in total, or should focus just the back of the field value so that the user can enter, or something else?

  Here's what might look like a script that rejects the input:

  I saved a number of documents Word 2007/2010 in PDF format and then grouped into a single PDF. The original Word documents contained several text boxes.   I think that the problem you are having is associated with the original font is not integrated - that fits into this last screenshot. You do not have the embedded Times NewRoman (italic) police and it's one that is endangered.

  Projects that I am working, I scan in all copies of documents I acquire and add at the bottom of the first page of the relevant information, that is, the source of recordings, volume, and page, using the tool text box (or typewriter).

  In earlier versions of Acrobat, I could choose a font style once and it has carried over to any subsequent document, I proceeded. In Acrobat Pro XI, it always happens as Minion Pro and I need to change in Arial Black every time. Is there a way to define Arial Black as the default choice for the text box?

  I came across a work-around for this for Acrobat Pro XI.  It is a process in two steps and a little heavy, but it works.

  First, go and add your text box and everything what you need text.  After having done that, select all the text, then bring up a bar of properties of the text box text by placing your cursor in the toolbar area and select 'Properties Bar' top of the page, right click or simply press Ctrl + E.  The properties of the text box bar will appear (floating, but not all the time).  Let the selected text, and then change the font properties to what you need.

  Secondly, deselect the text, select the border of the text box, make a right click and then select "Make current properties default" in the pop-up window.  FYI, the property bar to the box text will be changed from a floating real estate bar at this time, so if you need to make more detailed changes, simply close the bar and back to Ctrl + E to call upwards and make other changes.

  I use Windows 7 64-bit.

  Usually, when characters do not appear in a textfield it means police must be integrated into the TextField.  If the textfield on the stage, select it and in the properties panel, click the Embed button and choose the font/characters you want to use for the textfield object.
