  Hi all, we have many site - to IPSEC VPNS that are sending traffic to us successfully - the largest part of this traffic is FTP or SFTP.

  There is not configuration of the firewall of the SAA sysopt. Access lists have been configured on the external interface of the ASA to allow these VPN for FTP SFTP connections & - however, all counters are 0 when I do a 'show access-list internet-in' for FTP or SFTP.

  There are general IP entries in list of FTP & SFTP natted access connected to the Internet addresses of these FTP servers and these are increment but then there are certain customers who use the internet to transfer files.

  I guess what I was asking is ASA outside increment for traffic access lists allowed by VPN? The access list entries are for THEIRINTERNALIP to OURINTERNALIP (according to crypto card)

  Just to add that these ACL is configured through groups of objects in the case that matters - also once again that they are correctly transfer files to us - only I don't get where they are allowed.

  For a long term business rule I would not recommend their execution save, they are probably timing out in planning, long runnning rules are generally best left regular, eas, launcher web or possibly from the menu of business rule in planning.

  Heard, so it seems that you use BIS which does not explain why the HTTP request comes from a different server. BIS has a public browser MDS (the Web browser) that optimizes traffic for BlackBerry when traffic happens on the network of the carrier and if you are connected to WiFi it does not matter the traffic via an Internet browser / BIS goes out through public servers.

  If you want to force someone to be able to use the browser WiFi using your network connection and router and respect your filters, you can remove with IPPP for BIBS service in her book. This is only temporary and will come when a BB re-entered on the network.

• Replacement for an AM200/RV042 configuration?

  My trusty AM200 modem died and it apears it is no longer available.  I thought that the AM300 looked ok but I can't one of these no more, at least not in Europe.

  I have it used to power the internet to my RV042 and then on my WRVS4400 and a few of WRT54GL and it was awesome.  It is difficult to try to find a replacement.  I tried a D - Link DSL-320 b, because it resembled a similar product, but it does not work.  In the United Kingdom, the modem needs to do all so we only PPPoA authentication.  The D-Link will do but if DHCP is activated it automatically falls in half-bridge mode but the RV042 won't work with it in this mode.  I used my AM200 half-bridge, just for try earlier but did not like the fact, became invisible on the network, so it could not be easily given but I don't know how it should work.  The DSL-320 with disabled DHCP does not give the RV042 port WAN IP to MAC cloning should fix it, is not so I am stuffed as they say.  Also, if you Google DSL - 320 b, PPPoA, routers and UK ISP you would not have bought one in the first place.  Fortunately, it was cheap!

  My work is about using a Netgear DG834PN with wireless off and DMZ active (with active DHCP and functioning properly to give the RV042 a WAN IP address, but without interfering with the RV042 the DCHP) feeding the WAN port.  It works well but does not give the same speed of line like the AM200.  Also, he loses the lock from time to time and must be restarted so that is a temporary solution.

  It doesn't seem to be many products out there, so I'm open to suggestions.

  This forum is specific to the Cisco Small Business product range, like the RV042 you.  In the closest Cisco Small Business portfolio, we would have to the modem AM200 ADSL is the Secure Router 520 (SR520), model ADSL (SR520-ADSL-K9).  There is also a wireless version of the router that should be required (SR520W-ADSL-K9).  I'm not familiar with the AM200 personally however the product match nearest you, we in small businesses is the SR520.  To read the the SR520 line sheet, click here!

  I started to apply the acl attached in an attempt to clean up our WAN traffic. We work with each site to clean things up in the source, but in order to be proactive, we thought that the clip is a good start. It also helps children issue on LANs. It essentially restricts these troublesome protocols (port 137, 138, 139, etc) for only our address space. In order to reduce the traffic "wandering" of virui, worms and others. Any recommendations on improving this list? We look at the deployment of a system IDS, but it will probably be only in the kernel to start. I know this is not a large ACL but is a start, and is better than nothing. Just try to be proactive and keep things a secure as possible.

  don't really know why you allow netbios ports 137 445, 138 139 inside your network to any... I hope that private networks 192.168.0.0/172.16.x.x etc. are your inside networks... Am I wrong? in any case, apart from these ports, make sure you also block the ports given below:

  79 TCP - finger, UDP 161/162 - / SNMP, TCP 513 - Rlogin, UDP 513 trap - which TCP/UDP 514 - syslog

  you need to block all these out if not necessary... This is really vulanarable...

  You must also disable unnecessary services on the router as CDP, small servers TCP/UDP, finger, http server, a bootp server, routing source ip, proxy arp, ip directed broadcasts etc. If they are not needed...

  If the WAN link is an internet link, ask the service provider to apply these rules of access. Apply too many lists of access on your side will eat a lot of resources on the router.
