• OR PCI-5640R serving of real-time Spectrum Analyzer

  Hello

  The code for the demo of the real-time Spectrum Analyzer real NI SMU-5641R is shown HERE for LV 2009. I want to use the same code for NI PCI-5640R NI SMU-5641R instead. Since I'm on a 5640R, I changed the device in the project.

  Can someone guide me what else I need to do in this demo code so that I can use the same code for the NI PCI-5640R
  instead of the SMU-5641R NI?

  Hello r,.

  Since you have not mentioned I guess that you do not have NI 5600. Therefore, to make this example work, you will need NEITHER 5600 buck frequency converter and driver of DAMA. NEITHER 5640R serves only as a digitizer in this case.  Also note that the 5600 is the resource name hardcoded in the program, so if you have OR 5600, you can either rename in 5600 Max or change the name of the resource in code for matching a max. You also need re 5600 NOR as a DAA, so so right click on 5600 OR in select Properties MAX and select external under scanner. All should be good as long as you recomplie the project to create a new file of ILO.

  I'm just having some difficulty in communicating with my the HP8562A Spectrum Analyzer. I tried to send the query "* IDN?" but he cannot read (probably due to the age of the parser). I look around the Query Analyzer can understand but have had no luck so far. If anyone has had experience with this instrument and communicate with him using GPIB, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  For the ID? and * IDN command, it returns the display name. Other commands does not work

  But it is strange that when I connect GPIB instruments (OSA), two devices are analyzed (display HP7004A, another (HP 70952 (B) is not recognized/responsed). It may be the source of error when writing the commands to the instruments.

  In fact, when you use MAX, I chose HP70004A to connect. I do not know how other assets.

I the company Rohde and Schwarz Spectrum Analyzer, I use interface GPIB 82357 B Agilent... If anyone can help me how to start. I plugged GPIB to spectrum and its drivers on the computer...

  I want to make a screenshot for ESA series Spectrum Analyzer. I make a screenshot, but still not even the current. If and only if I do not use MMEMEL function after reading binary data under vi I screenshot, but not the current one. And if I use the function MMEMEL then I get blank screen capture. And on the screen of the spectrum I always get message that INTERRUPTED the query and error output, I get attention. I don't know what to do these things happened... I'll be very happy if someone help me with this...

  I don't know if it's important, but the 'PSA Screen Capture via GPIB1' VI you downloaded is looking for the Subvi "VISA Read block of binary data", but you have downloaded "VISA read binary block given to file1. What is the difference?

  The reason of the error of REQUEST INTERRUPTED, is you issue one * OPC? command, but never read the answer. This command causes the parser to return a 1 after the command is completed. You never read it. Thus, the Analyzer complains, as it should.

  The Instrument Driver Network has all the drivers for the instruments. There is no driver specific to this model, but there is one for the 6310 B. Maybe this can work for you. You may need to change. If this isn't the case, you will need to write one yourself. You can get a lot of material for this here: http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm

  Hi Dennis,

  I had the Instrument i/o Assistant to talk to HP 8562 A. But I was able to write a simple with VISA Open, read, write and close program screws to read the instructions and write to a file.

  Since there is no drivers, you can create your own, request one, use the Instrument i/o Assistant, or hope that someone has one and he posts here. On the creation of a help or to ask one, see the main page of the Instrument Driver Network . As long as you're familiar with the instrument and the manual, creating a driver is not so difficult.

  There is a driver for the 2721 you have already found and downloaded. There is an example that accompanies it - help > find examples. Look under input and output equipment.

  We have a 8561 in our laboratory. Same series. I can confirm it does not implement the * IDN? command. Instead, it uses the ID? command. These instruments are very old, and I think their command implementations have been made before the accepted conventions of the so-called ' standard/common' GPIB commands, sellers of their own orders.
