Spectrum of HP: battery

I was wondering why my battery when it is completely charged, says 'not charging' when it is plugged in, it's a new technology system to avoid overload and the extension of autonomy, or just an error in my system?

Hello @3issa,.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Forums Guide first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you wanted to know about your battery.  I'll be happy to help you with this!

Your product uses a Lithium-Ion battery.  These batteries have built-in protection circuit which prevents the battery from overload.  You can view the following for more information document, if necessary: HP - understanding Lithium-Ion notebook computers and smart battery technology

    Hi guys.

I have a problem, I just bought a new spectrum x 360 and the battery is dripping after perfom a FULL stop and COMPLETE (no sleep or hibernation). After 10hs I lost 8% of battery, all drivers are up to date as well as the BIOS.

I had this problem with my Lenovo Yoga 3 11, and after updating the BIOS, I have corrected. I've read it seems to be a problem with W10 and some drivers, but not all laptops there.

Guys, any idea?, by the way, I already disable the fastboot which seems to be a solution in the same case, but not in mine.

    Thank you!!!

I found the solution, I have BIOS there is an option which is enable, is one that provides energy to your USB devices, even if the computer is off.

After you turn off this feature the drain stopped, I had a mouse receiver pluged in...

    Thank you

  • X 360 spectrum: spectrum x 360 battery life

The battery life on the spectrum of x 360 that I just received is absolutely terrible. Run the default installation of Windows, I am lucky to get 4 hours of battery life using the powerplan recommended HP while browsing the internet on a stable WiFi network with the brightness of the screen the absolute minimum. Is that what I can do to fix this or my best bet would be to contact HP directly? I bought this laptop only based on claims he could get up to 12 hours on the battery and the fact that I have the chance to see one third of that is appalling.

Please check your messages. It would be helpful to have some additional info.

  • spectrum x 360: battery - spectrum x 360 turns off 8%

I bought a convertible of spectrum x 360 at the end of Thanksgiving this past November 2015. As I use the machine for several months now I have noticed that it turns off when the battery exactly reached 8% of remaining power. Is it possible to let it flow to zero and told me just to say 5% compared to the ways in which he warns me currently to 15.12 & 10% remaining battery?

Also, just to clarify, I read on the microsoft Web site related to the life of the battery it is recommended to you to Miss completely before charging again, as obbosed to say let it flow to 50% and full charge battery. Is this OK make the most of performance and autonomy? I do not consider this when buying, but the battery in the spectrum can be replaced in the windows store?

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

  • Spectrum x 360: screen goes black randomly when on battery and some energy-saving options enabled

    Hello everyone,

I bought this fantastic machine called spectrum x 360 and I love it.

Unfortunately since the early days I'm facing what I think it's a problem of driver/software (not the related material).

This problem only occurs when I'm on Windows, not in the bios or at the startup. JUST IN Windows envinroment, especially after the login, and when the computer was turned off. Sometimes when I use it after a while, randomly.
This occurs only when the spectrum is on battery. The problem does not appear on AC adapter.

Problem: the screen goes black randomly for a few seconds and then reappear, sometimes the entire image on the right slide and there is a part that looks like yellow and corrupt, then goes black and reappears.

Windows Version: I'm on Windows Home 64 bit, build 14393.321 10 (update of the anniversary).

The entire screen works fine for normal operations, no artifacts.

    Replication of the problem
Initially, I was able to reproduce the problem with the driver build 4360 (which is the version of the driver from the HP site). Whenever I loaded the home page of youtube and the banner has started playing on the screen went black sistematicly.
Then I updated the GPU driver through the Device Manager, which has improved my GPU driver to 21.20.16.4494, as of July 25, 2016 and the problem happens much more rarely.
Now I am facing this problem again but Edge works correctly and is not the cause of the problem, it can appear even when I don't do anything with the PC.

I noticed this problem appears when saving options are enabled for the Intel GPU (I'm trying to translate this to English because the GPU driver Panel is in Italian):

    -update panel houses;
    -advanced mode; energy saving

If I disable these options, the problem does not appear or, better, for I've tested so far, he could not displayed when options are not in market, but I have not tested this very long to be sure.

In my opinion, there is a bug in the display driver, or some customizations made by HP causes problems with the driver.
The rest of the computer works correctly.
Any idea to solve this problem? Or should I keep these options turned off power saving?

    Hi, thanks for your help.

I have a passion for COMPUTING and ex-computer SCIENTIST, I am familiar in surveys on hardware/software questions and hope that this post will help some users get rid of this problem.
Black screens and screen corruption has been issued by the option called "auto refresh Panel" energy saving.
I did a lot of hours on battery (condition where this pop ups problem) in these days and the problem didn't show when it was turned off.
To verify that I tried to activate "Panel options self-identity" in certain occasions and, at random, on the first boot of the machine (after being turned off) the problem arises again.
It certainly is a problem with this energy-saving option.
    Now everything works fine.
If the problem appears again, I will post more information.
    Thank you for your support.

I think it would be useful to stick this post on top in this section of the forum, to be useful to other users and being more visible.

  • HP 13-3080ez spectrum - hip does not support

    Hello

I have a 2 weeks old spectrum HP 13-3080ez, Windows 8, 64-bit. Since yesterday I have a problem with loading, means, battery is empty but will not charge.

I tried all the common things that you can find in the internet, but I'm still strugglin with the part "remove battery" because the spectrum built in battery.

    Facts

-Battery is new (max 3 - 4 times loaded)

-Laptop works fine with AC plugged addapter

-If I run the battery from the HP software check, it says "unknown battery" followed by an "45replace" exception but I can't somehow believe that the battery is already default

    -J' did all possible updates

-J' also did a BIOS update to the current version

    Any ideas? Thanks for help.

HI re-cyber. It doesn't sound like you need to contact support to replace your battery. The documents you see referring to a hard reset and remove the battery, of course only applies to products with removable batteries. If you want to make sure that you have completed all the steps (which I believe you have) you can view this document.

  • Made a decision: would you please help a PAO

Hi, I am wanting to buy a new laptop and 71 who, at my age, maybe the last, I'll buy. I wish that the specification to be as good as I can get with a limit price of £1200. I think I narrowed down it to two models (Envy 15-as004na) and spectrum 15 ap007na. Both are models of 4 K. Both are approximately the same size and weight. Aside from the obvious difference of the spectrum being a 2 1With tablet mode, I see the main differences as follows

Envy has PCIe SSD and spectrum M.2 SSD M.2

Envy has 12 GB of ram DDR4 and spectrum has 16 GB of DD3 ram

Envy has 52 WH battery and spectrum has 65WH battery

    Envy has two B & O speakers and spectrum quad B & O speakers

    My questions are

    1. how much faster the urge will be start-up with SSD PCIe?

    2. What is the difference between DDR3 and DDR4?

3 can I assume that the larger battery will give better battery life (I'm not sure that I can go to claimed the life of the battery).

    4. as will be most of my listening with headphones Bose is there a difference between the models of speakers of 2 and 4 sound quality.

I work a lot using Microsoft Office (spreadsheets and databases), but will use the machine more for watching movies (Netflix, which gives movies 4 K and Youtube and also Sky Sports average sky GB)

It does not seem possible for me to go into a store to try computers because they do not stock these computers appear for demonstration purposes.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

You want the tablet feature? I mean, if he wasn't so its replacement by a portable form factor standard for a form factor 2 in 1.

The processors are the same and are very powerful. Same video chip. One is tactile and we're not. Both are IPS 4 k poster that will be wonderful, except in my touch experience tend to be a little muddy compared to not touch.  Both have 512 GB m2. Envy says expressly that's IS. Envy a DDR4, which is a bit faster and works on a lower voltage should thus extend the battery life. Both are 3 cell batteries, but the spectrum has more Watt-hour capacity, so you have to assume there's going to be the longest running.

I would say that envy will run and start more quickly. Not much. Even a M.2 SATA is very fast but the NVME (aka PCI-e) is like instant - on. I have the new spectrum "the thinnest in the world" which has a PCI-e m2 memory card and it is literally instant - we. My previous laptop was a Lenovo Carbon X-1 with a SATA m2 and it was close but not exactly instant - on.

For what you say you will do, I would say either of these laptops is exaggerated and frankly it boils down to how you want the ability to have a tablet form factor. Envy is a little more durable due to DDR4 memory and PCI - e disk.

  • Spectrum HP convertible x 360: blue spectrum HP x 360 13-4105dx MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD screen and gauge battery only "calculation".

I am Brazilian and acquired in the United States thanks to a friend, a spectrum of HP x 360 Convertible Notebooh - Win 10 - i7-6500u - 8 GB of RAM - 512 ssd

He constantly showed an error on blue screen of death BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) with the "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" error

However, other messages such as "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (Wdf01000.sys)" or "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" or "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE" are also presented at other times.

Sometimes, after much searching on the forums, I've seen a lot of people complaining that the video driver was the cause of the problem.

As I read on the forums, follow the instructions to update the BIOS to the latest version (F.35), then put to update the driver Intel(r) HD Graphics 520 to the latest version available on HP website (20.19.15.4360 from 21/12 / 2015).

The mistakes continued. I abandon me when I noticed something new, be the subject of an investigation. After a long comment, I realized that when the laptop is powered energy he not crushed and does not give problems, he gave when the battery.

When removing the power supply, after a short period, about 5 to 10 minutes, the mistakes began to appear, and then the question arises:

-It would be the parameter in battery power settings that could be the cause of the error (like setting up optimization, performance, etc) or is it really problem in the battery causing the error?
-Because the estimated Win10 battery life indicator has no estimate of consumption, keeping the status always "computation". This last fact strengthens the thesis that the problem is the battery.

Before ask you, I used the HP Suport Assistent to the battery test and he informs that the battery is standard, which goes against my thesis which is the problem of power or the power configuration in a device driver (probably the driver Intel(r) HD Graphics 520). I did tests of memory and the SSD and quite normal.

I decided to disable the battery driver in dispostivos Manager. Its name in dispostivos Manager is 'Control method battery Microsoft ACPI-Compatible'. To my surprise, Guess, the laptop did not, I'm still testing, but it doesn't seem that it was driver stack of conflict. The machine did not fall down, but bad disable the driver, it's that we lose track of how much time we have autonomy, but rather sacrifice the autonomy of the video driver (was palliative that he used to be able to work with the battery). Go figure... Wells is now to see if HP will solve this problem of incompatibility, because I found the potential conflict and now awaits the solution. Let's see what will give... all new review here.

  • Does not power spectrum HP ENVY Ultrabook 13-2057nr of the battery (at the level of 93% charge)

    Greeting,

I have an unusual problem with my HP ENVY spectrum XT Ultrabook 13-2057nr.

I bought this recently used computer.  The battery seems to be dead, so I replaced it with a new battery, which seems to be charge (to 93%).

However, the computer will usually not market unless the AC adapter is plugged in.

As a general rule, the laptop will not be under voltage battery (charged to 93%).  It will work normally if connected to the power adapter.

From time to time, if the computer has been loading for 15 minutes or more, it will be under the battery voltage. However, if it is off, it will be only re-power-on if connected to the adapter.

If someone had a similar problem or have thoughts?

    Thanks - Ric

    Hello Rico88,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the battery does not load to 100% and has a strange behavior. To start, please try test and calibrate the battery. You should be able to know if the battery has problems.

If the battery seems to be good, you can try to improve the performance of your battery.  For more information about improving the performance of the battery, please consult the following document: improve the performance of the battery (8 Windows 7, Vista).

If none of this helps, you can try purchasing a spare battery if the computer is not in the warranty. If this is the case, you should be able to get a replacement in the HP support by phone. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and if it has helped. Thank you for choosing the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Spectrum x 360: 360 x crashes when it's on battery

I have a new spectrum x 360, custom build: regular HDTV, i7, 8 GB, 512SSD, Pro 8.1.  I discovered that the machine has a problem of gel.  The first day I used it, I had plugged and no problems.  Yesterday, I started myself moving to the new system and it disconnected from the power supply to see how it works on battery and use it in other places.  Which immediately began to happen, is that the computer seems to hang when it does any action to energy saving.  If I left the machine for more than a few minutes, I'll be back and he could be suspended: keyboard always backlit but do not meet the touchpad or hit.  At this point, the only thing to do is hold the power button.  On other tests, I notice only after a longer period, the machine turns off, but when you restart, it is not a CV, but a reboot.  The event log shows just the events concerning the decision unexpected and not closed properly.  There is no other weapon smoking in the journal before the boot messages.

I tried to reinstall the drivers HP and uninstalling McAfee software just in case he was at the origin of the blocking.  Nothing has solved the problem.

I suspect that maybe it's defective material, and since it's in the window of my back, I'll probably just go back and order another.

I really like the material and really want to it works.  Tips that make authorities would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Zeldar

After a few calls to technical support, in-depth diagnostics revealed a memory hardware problem.  I didn't want to get into a cycle of repair on a computer that was 3 days out of the box, so I ended up returning the product and ordered another.  I hope that it will be flawless.

    Hello

When I got to my laptop, I have to click on the battary icon in the status bar, and it would give me an estimate of the time remaining, as well as the percentage.  Since then, I had to reinstall windows 8.1 and no longer have the estimated time remaining on battery, just the percentage.  I have installed all the latest drivers on the support site and everything works well except that.

I tried all versions of the BIOS available on the support site and reinstalled several times.  I also tried running a battery check that came back fine.

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello tm200

Remaining battery life information has been removed from the BIOS F.11.

The time estimator estimated battery basically looking at what you have now and give a time remaining. It was common for playback from 8 hours to 16 hours in a few minutes. This can cause confusion for the customer more that it solves.

The trend of mobile devices intended last day is try not to estimate the battery life. By example, iPhones, iPads, Android phones, tablets, etc all do not try to estimate. They can give an overview of your past use, but they do not attempt the future of the project.

    Thank you
