Satellite Pro L10: upgrade CPU?
I have a Satellite Pro L10 and I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the processor. I currently have a Mobile Intel Pentium M 725, 1600 MHz processor.
Does anyone know what the best available (if any) CPU I could update?
Thanking you in advance
Upgrade CPU on laptops is not easy and certainly not possible.
Well, in this forum, you will find a large number of discussions on this endless theme.
How about this thread:
See you soon
I took my laptop apart before, and I remember that I was able to remove the CPU.
My A60 is the lower part of the range as far as I KNOW, 2.8 ghz Celeron, 40GB HDD and DVD-ROM/CD-RW. I've since added 512 MB of RAM and a LiteOn DVD +-RW drive.
What type of CPU would be a direct exchange?
I was looking at my manual, A60 were sold with P4 3.06 GHz.
I would be able to put in a 533FSB, 3.06 GHz in my laptop?
As far as I know the Satellite Pro A60 was delivered with these processors:
Mobile-Intel-Pentium 4 processor - HT 518 (2.8 G), 532 (3.06 G) CPU, CPU 538 (3.2 G)
Intel-Celeron CPU CPU CPU CPU 350 (3.2 G) 345(3.066G) 340(2.93G) 335(2.8G)
So in this case, I think that you can only use these processors
I have a satellite L10 pro with a celeron m 370 1.5 ghz 400 fsb 1 MB cache mounted. I want to move to a p4. can someone tell me the max p4 it takes? also can I put the dvd cd rw on a rw dvd by simply replacing the disc? If Yes, what is the part number for the drive? Thank you very much.
As much as I know the laptop comes with different processors.
Centrino Pentium M 725 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz
Centrino Pentium-M 735 processor 1.7 GHz
Intel-Celeron-M (Dothan), 1.4 GHz,
Intel-Celeron-M (Dothan), 1.5 GHz,
Intel-Celeron-M (Dothan), clocked at 1.6 GHz
I recommend you ask the guys at Toshiba for a compatible CPU service partner.
But I don't know if it is possible to remove the old CPU. Possible, it is fixed on the motherboard and you cannot remove it.
Is it possible to move from the factory installed Pentium M 1.7 / 512 k cpu with e.g. a Centrino with FSB400 and 1 or 2 M cache?
If so, which ones would take on my machine?
I want to improve my laptop, otherwise, it will have to be replaced...: s
Thanks for the reply
Usually it s not desirable to replace or upgrade the processor.
But if you want you can try to contact Toshiba service partner in your country to know what CPU could be compatible with the motherboard.
I have a Satellite Pro L10 Celeron M Processor 360 1.4 GHz / XP HE / 256 MB / 40 GB / 15TFT / DVD-CDRW / OneNote. I wanted to upgrade the RAM, and I noticed that in the manual it says:
Before installing a new module memory 512 MB do not forget to remove already installed memory modules.
Does that mean that I can not install a 512 MB module and more the 256 MB is already a total of 768 MB?
Thanks for any advice,
The specifications of your laptop indicates that it can accept up to 1 024 MB of RAM. If you have 2 RAM slots, so you can use any combination of modules of RAM as long as you do not exceed the maximum quotes. Of course if you have only 1 RAM slt then you must remove the original 256 MB module before insert you new 512 MB a.
Can I add 512 MB to 256 MB of memory already on my laptop? And also what is the name of the memory supported by Satellite Pro L10.
Your L10 has two available memory slots and will support up to 2 GB of RAM (2 X 1 GB modules).
Check the following URL for details of compatible modules for your laptop: -.
Hi ive just bought a satellite pro L10, who needs a new drive hard and im new to computers laptops so im wondering if there is a particular model of hard drive I need and there at - it those who recommend or avoid.
any advice will be greatly appieciated
Well, you have the difference between SATA and IDE hard drives.
This laptop was certainly equipped 2.5 HDD that support the IDE interface.
I know that some L10 notebooks were shipped with 40 GB and 60 GB HARD drive.
I remember that this question has been posted plenty of time here in the forum and so I looked for similar topics here.
.and. I found a ;)
Last user reported that a 120 GB HARD drive works fine so maybe this might help you.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 and I was wondering if and where can I get a better graphics card for it?
Thank you very much
Sorry Michael, but it has nothing to do because the graphics card can not be upgraded. Unfortunately the L10's small budget machine, and because of this, there is no better card inside.
I was wondering if there is a screen replacement out there that would be a compatible upgrade for my L10?
Need something more high resolution ideally.
To my knowledge the Satellite Pro L10 uses a 15.0 "1024 x 768 TFT color screen.
That is why each display 15 must be compatible with your laptop!
If you are looking for a second hand display, I recommend checking out some online auction sales
You might also find laptops second hand which also provide an internal display of 15.
It would be an easier way to find a.
The display is also one of expansive parts for laptop and in my eyes it s not worth it to buy a new game.
But it's your choice...
I wonder if I can install an intel Pro/Wireless 2915 abg minPCI card in my laptop Satellite Pro L10-155?
I hope someone can help out me.
I'm not 100% sure but I think that your device isn't WiFi a loan. Please contact the partner customer Service in your country and ask them. They are specialized for the hardware upgrade and have accurate information on any hardware compatibility.
Please say you can help!
I have just upgraded to windows Vista home on my Satellite Pro L10.
I am trying to download the driver from the website of toshiba, but for some reason any that it does not connect to the site to download
can someone help me please
I put t know why you can not on the Toshiba site. Maybe it was something wrong with the server. Who knows at this time, I'm able to connect to this site and I m able to download the WLan drivers.
Please see the Toshiba WLan portal for new WLan driver version:

I'm looking for a set of drivers for the laptop model above. I recently installed Win7, but I have no drivers for the machine at all.
XP drivers do not work.
If someone managed to install the drivers for this machine? I'm mainly interested in getting my wireless card working.
I look forward to your responses.
Thanks in advance for your responces
Satellite Pro L10 is old enough for laptop and I do not think that you will find all the Win7 drivers.
According to the Toshiba - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm - your laptop isn't supported Win7 and find the drivers won't be so easy.
Hi, my Satellite Pro L10 - 103 USB Ports do not work. I tried different things and finally my Advisor rubbed my computer clean of all programs and operating system. After reloading of the set up disc and having lost my dear some programs I am no further forward. It still does not.
Anyone know if this means that it is a mechanical problem with the computer? (I use Windows XP). Your help would be greatly appreciated.
As wrote Akuma did you use the Toshiba Recovery disk or the Microsoft Windows disk?
After installing XP, make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed. It contains important updates and can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba.
In addition, try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, restart the computer. Ports will still be recognized and ready to use once.
I have a satellite Pro L10, which has only 128 MB of RAM. I want to wear this but can't find any information about it in the manual.
I would like to know,
How much RAM, I put in the L10?
What type of RAM the L10 take?
It's like a stick or two?
Where can I buy this type of RAM?
It has no internal memory, 2 locations available, 128 or 256 MB at 1 location, PC2100 DDR - RAM 333 MHz, 1024MB max
You can buy the RAM from all :) any store on the computer or online from Toshiba.
See you soon
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L10, which won't work for some reason any.
The last time that I used it, it worked perfectly fine, but now all I get is a black filtered message on "windows starts do not successfully»
It indicates that the computer is not responding and asked me to choose one of the five options - safe mode, safe mode with network, security mode command, last known configuration, prompt or start windows normally.
There is also a 30 second countdown if I do nothing the portable samekh automatically.
It is, none of these things work.
Everything that happens with any option is to a thought very much time on things, then it goes to a black screen with a time/processing bar downstairs, then when that ends it turns itself off, samekh, mw windows page shows (with f2 and f4/f10? options) and the process is repeated.
He did about 50 times now and still nothing.
I tried the command ctrl/alt/del, I tried to turn if off and try again, I even opened the f options but I don't know enough about computers to do more.
If possible I would like to get the computer on long enough to verify what documents I have on this subject before I can back up (if necessary) and restore it to the factory settings (as I predicted), or if this is not possible, I do not think that there is a lot to lose in this respect in any case, am prepared to take it all back to factory if necessary. I have all necessary installation CD and manuals to go with.
hope this makes sense and I gave you all you need to know.
It seems that the laptop is not able to boot the system, but I m not quite sure if it s because of the defective system or HARD drive corruption.
If it s just a system problem, the installation of the new Windows operating system should help you to get it resolved.
In case the HARD disk is defective, you need to replace the HARD drive and reinstall the system.
