    Hello

Can limit us the speed of the internet to the Simulator?

I not found any related post, or the command line option.

PS: I don't know the State/quality virtual GPRS network, but effective the Simulator internet speed.

You can simulate a low network coverage by clicking the simulation menu and selecting network properties.

There is no support for limiting the connection (speed).

  • BB10 Simulator speed is low

    Hi all

I had a problem about the very slow speed of the BB10 Simulator. I installed VMware 5 and the BB10 simulator 10_0_09-1101. The hardware configuration of VMware to run the Simulator was the following: memory: 1.5 G, number of processor cores: 2. I run the software on my laptop HP pavilion dv5 (corei3 2.27 G, 3 G Ram, graphics intel HD).

Is the configuration of my laptop, not enough to run the Simulator or I don't have some setting or configuration? I'm looking forward to your media.

  • get the current speed when executing sentences nmea Simulator

    Hello

I'm having a few problems getting GPS simulators to give me the current speed.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I have log NMEA files that have been captured many actual trips as I pushed it, these NMEA files were also taken from a variety of different material.

These range from relatively short trips about simulation files 20 minutes to long trips which are + 6 hours.

On other development platforms (Nokia/android/java mobile) I successfully uses these files to simulate roads when debugging my application.

I tried to complete my request and provided GPS sample and don't get any information about the speed of the location provider.

    at my request, that I can access debug the following NMEA sentenced $GPGGA & $GPGLL by calling;

    Location.getExtraInfo ("application/X-jsr179-rental-nmea");

However, none of them have speed information associated with them.

and the Location.getSpeed () method always returns 0

so this all leaves me a bit stuck, I have two machines of development here, one with windows 7 64 bit and a windows XP laptop, I have read several posts that say windows 7 is not really supported, so I tried it on my old machine but still no luck.

If someone is able to get the speed to import a NMEA trip, would it be possible to provide me with a sample of these sentences so I can try and run this.

the steps I take to run my file in the Simulator are as follows:

    Simulator of boots...

simulate the menu - > select GPS location

GPS location dialog box appears-> press adds buton in the section of the road

    Select "data from a file.

    Select nmea log file

Select the button Edit in the section of the road

    Rename the route

    Press the button Save

Press the play button in the section of the road

    launch application

the version of the Simulator uses is "Simulator of Smartphone BlackBerry 2.13.0.140.

I use eclipse with the Blackberry Java plug in 1.1.2.201004161203 - 16

I'm happy to provide anyone interested in a copy of the GPS logs that I use.

If I can't get the speed work, I guess I can use the phrases $GPGGA & $GPGLL data to calculate, but I prefer not having to write specific debugging code.

    Thanks in advance

  • Accuracy of the speed of the cpu of the Simulator

I have a camera on my way to the test, but I'm curious to know if the speed of the cpu of the Simulator is even close to accurate.  I have a code displaying large images which works well on the Simulator, but I have a feeling he's going to get bogged down on the device.

Please let me know if anyone has experience with applications that are running at a different speed on device vs. Simulator.

    Thank you!

I don't know anything about the internals, but my own tests indicate that there is no relationship between performance on the Simulator and the device. Things like processing I/O vs. CPU do not have the same proportions, so you can not really see it. For features (it works) the Simulator is very good, of course.

  • HP forensic 39gII: simulation of mathematical routines Saturn?

(This discussion is NOT to debate on the judgment on the ability of calculator and accuracy!)

    Hello

While I am very interested to see a new generation of devices HP to come, I wondered about the genealogy of this new 39gII of family of HP, in particular read comment by Tim new codebase for this product:

"The 39gII, it's the beginning of a new brand, independent of the platform codebase for graphic HP calculators. It has been developed, designed, and written entirely in-house as a modern and flexible system. »

So I ran the well-known formula of forensic medicine (in degree mode):

Arcsin (arccos (arctan (tan (cos (sin (9)))

    who gives a 8.99999864267 on 39gii (ROM 39gII used: 2012 September 4, rev 18360)

By raising this result in a calculator very extensive database, it shows hp39gii seems to share the same routines mathematical than the Saturn-based models (including the 50 g) and not something new or derivative of older models (nuts, travel,...).

Although not a smoking gun, it's probably a pretty strong clue.

We would find relevant to HP indeed draw on proven algorithms and recognized.

So a question arises concerning the declaration of "new codebase": has plain emulation Saturn in recent products (such as 50 g) running real Saturn ROM in the ARM emulator, or a simulator of Saturn where same mathematical routines code has been rewritten again portable code compiled on the ARM (BTW giving the speed improvement drastic) went from HP?

Would be interested to hear about it?

Then I thought about the so-called e ^(i*pi) "bug" in HP39gii with eval to:

    (-1,-1,26676153736E-12) instead of-1

The same ran on HP50g and found:

    (-1, -2.06761537357E-13)

Then... both have the similar problem, but they are NOT the same result.

There is always a very interesting similar trend 6761537357 (rounded to 676153736 on 39gII).

If we assume 39gII simulation must match the ROM of origin of the product, there may be some effects secondary bug in 39gII.

Anyway, it would be great if the latest generation devices could actually improve this result and gives-1!

    No comments on these fidings?

    Thank you.

So the question is actually slightly more subtle while. This has to do with the way the parser evaluates the entrance.

What is done is that by pressing e ^ you return < constant > ^ (entry). This means that what is in fact calculated is the constane 'e' to the power of ' I * pi'.  Go ahead a put ' I * pi' evaluate the constant onto the stack on the 50g, e, Exchange and then perform a calculation of power. Let me know what you see... :-)

If you are on the 50g algebraics, by pressing e ^ inserts the EXP () function and this actually reveals exactly what is happening here. If you do EXP(i*pi) on the 39gII, you will discover exactly the same result as the 50 g.

The 39gII actually also corresponds with the 39gs as e ^ is a constant power - not the EXP function.

That being said, we now have the ability to have unique values or characters who, with the police limited, set previous calculators were not allowed. Maybe it's time to take a look at this and make the system or use a special character for the 'e' (similar to constant i) constant, or have a standard e ^ actually to be mapped to the EXP function internally as single 'e' will be the constant e.

Thank you for the interesting debate! I'll bring this up internally, and we'll talk about what we want to do here in the future.

  • Slow simulation time.

I was wondering if there is a way to improve the performance of the simulation. I had made some changes, but still slow model execution.

I have the similar model on simulink that works almost instantly, but in LabVIEW, it takes a while.

    PS: LabVIEW 2015.

I looked in your simulation and tried various changes to speed up the process. Tried different solvers and values, but apparently not much can be speed up because:

    (a) your signal a 'burst' (oscillations around a value) which are of very high frequency;

    (b) you are simlating for a last big time (86400 s)

    (c) you collect data each ' continuous timestep.

Here are a few suggestions to try to make it's faster (other than to use a faster machine...):

    (a) try to increase the maximum Stepsize from simulation to 10000. This will allow the Solver to skip stages more great if he can (there is some linear parts on the system)

    (b) try to reduce the final time. Now you have 15 ~ swing that seemed to be the same. If you allow just 4 (as 25000), this would make it faster.

    (c) try to make the 'collector' discreet and set a value which will capture the information you need. Fewer points to caption, faster it would work.

    (d) try the 'rigid' as the Rosenbrock or the BDF Solver. Those who seem to be the best options in question.

With these changes, I was able to simulate the 25000 in 4.1 s and with all s 86400 in 13.4. I use a Dell computer (Intel Xeon CPU E5 - 1620 3.70 HHz 3.69 GHz with 32 GB of memory).

  • Control and Simulation in a loop / while loop with TCP/IP reading / writing of synchronization

Hello, I have a problem with reading TCP/IP and written in two loops. The problem is NOT to get the two loops to read and write to and from the other. This has been accomplished. My problem is when I run control and the loop simulation on my laptop and the while on a RTOS remote on the controller on-Board of LabVIEW in a remote PXI chassis, the while loop the remote system running on four 4 times faster than the loop control and simulation on my laptop. In other words, for each iteration of the loop control and simulation on my laptop, there are 4 four iterations of the while loop on the remote system. I need to know how to get a degree of kinship (1:1) with these iterations of the loop. When I run a longer simulation in real time, say 10 seconds, the control and Simulation loop begins to slow, i.e. the simulation time slows down until it is no longer in real time and the "Late Finish"? Parameter is set to true and the LED lights and continues to stay lit. At this point, the system destabilizes due to what I believe is being well sampling rate too discreet and I have to end the simulation. How can I get a ratio of one to one between the loops and also to avoid slowing the loops causing destabilization?

To give an overview of my application, I implement a control system in a network, seen in "image2.png". This is achieved using my laptop as a subsystem 1. Reference signals are generated from the laptop and the error signal is produced. Control measures taken and the control signals are sent via TCP/IP to the remote system. Position feedback is returned, and the process repeats. My system has Core I7 Procs w / 3 GB of RAM, up to 1 GB/s speed via ethernet and LabVIEW 2011 installed with all necessary modules and networking tools. The attached VI Custom_Wireless_Controller works on my laptop. The remote system I'm working on that has the 7830 NI R Series with FPGA card. OTN runs on the PXI chassis with an enbedded controller that has networking capabilities of up to 100 MB/s via ethernet. I use the FPGA for the acquisition of data and apply control signals to my plant. The plant is the PCE twist connected to the FPGA through the cable of the ECP - RIO of NOR. Subsystem 2 is this side of the CNE. The FPGA collects position, he sends to the controller via the network, receives signals from the network drive and writes signals to the plant power amplifier that operates the plant. This process is repeated and the VI and is titled Custom_Wireless_Plant.

I appreciate the help really and look forward for her and for any question!

Well, the first step is to understand what you have set up right now. Your control and Simulation loop on the side of the controller is configured as 'Runga Kutta 4' and you have a loop timed on the other side. In addition, you have the primitives of TCP/IP on the control and the Simulation diagram and means he will perform (a message) on the size of each minor step, which in your case is 4.

    So, you have two options:

    1. replace the Solver side controller Runga Kutta 1 (this must synchronize loops)

    2. hold RK 4, but create a Subvi around two primitives of TCP/IP and configure from the VI to run than the major (continuous) step-size. If you do it right, you should see a 'C' on the upper right part of the VI you have created.

Please let me know if what I said is not clear...

  • OR PXI-5142 niScope errors of simulation (0xBFFA4A3B and 0xBFFA408C)

In development, I'm looking for work with the drivers of the simulation.

Inside of MAX, I put session pilot "niScope" to simulate with specific driver (I also tried simulate with nisScope and the result was similar)

Here is the set of instructions that I call:

    niScope_init ("Scope", VI_TRUE, VI_FALSE, & instScope);

    niScope_SetAttributeViBoolean (instScope, "", NISCOPE_ATTR_DDC_ENABLED, VI_TRUE);

    niScope_SetAttributeViBoolean (instScope, "", NISCOPE_ATTR_DDC_FREQUENCY_TRANSLATION_ENABLED, VI_TRUE);

    And NI SPY says:

    > 3.  niScope_SetAttributeViBoolean (0x00000001, "", NISCOPE_ATTR_DDC_FREQUENCY_TRANSLATION_ENABLED, VI_TRUE)
    > PID: Thread ID 0 x 00000520: 0 x 00000954
    > Start Time: enter the duration 19:56:43.495 00:00:00.047
    > Status: 0xBFFA4A3B

    Here's the development:

Vital statistics: Property specified is not supported by the device or is not applicable to the task.

    Property: Enabled frequency translation
    Channel name: 0

    State code:-200452

Now, if I enter the string "model: 5142; "BoardTypeXI" or "model: 5441; BoardTypeXI. MemorySize:268435456"in the program of driver installation, to ensure that the simulation is to take the right hardware, when I start acquisition here is the result of NI SPY:

    > 28.  niScope_InitiateAcquisition (0x00000001)
    > PID: Thread ID 0 x 00000778: 0x00000EA8
    > Start Time: enter the duration 20:33:15.452 00:00:00.000
    > Status: 0xBFFA408C

    with the development:

DDCS more exist in the device is activated.  Note that some devices have less DDCS channels.

    Device: __tp3

    State code:-214233

Does that mean error? According to the NI5142 specifications, there should be in Quadrature DC as well as the decimation of baseband. What I want is to send a signal IF to CH0 and perform the downconversion quadrature during extraction of signalthen interleaved to complex values.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong. It is possbile to simulate with specific driver?  I really need it because I prefer to implement on my desk before you try my code our NI PXI-1042 q embedded system.

BTW, I noticed that if I want to change any other CSD related ATTR say NISCOPE_ATTR_DDC_CENTER_FREQUENCY I get the same error.

  • VeriStand "Custom Device" creation, including the different types of sources of code for simulation only

    Hello

Before I ask my questions, I want to describe my problem:

I would use VeriStand on a PXI system for simulation only. The simulation includes different types of sources such as Maltlab-Simulink-models, MultiSim SPICE models and code LabView for FPGAS-programming. Simulink models are available as a dll-file, generated with 'Real-Time-Workshop' and 'Simulation tool Kid. " They need to generate heavy duty, calculated by the modulation of the vector space and model the performance of a special converter. The MultiSim model will be transformed via a special VI in LabView code. I can generate code VeriStand (--> NI VeriStand--> Generate tools...). The PWM duty cycles of this dll matlab above are for LabView FPGA code entry. This will be the entrance of the gate of the tansistors of the MultiSim-model. Means, space vector modulation generates tension of the door and get the FPGA code to the ports of the inverter model.

I am new in programming with VeriStand and LabView. I don't know how I can handle this. But NEITHER says it's possible. So my questions are:

Is it possible to use VeriStand with more than one device Costum and simulate as a whole simulation. How can I associate different files.

If this isn't the case, that I have to build a LabView Vi, where all the different sources of models are included.

Is a walkthough or a user guide available, that I can use to fix my problems.

I hope you can help out me. I need it for my bachelor thesis very fast. Thank you for your attention.

    Best regards Andre

Here is a document describing how to create compiled LabVIEW templates and import them into NI VeriStand:

    http://www.NI.com/white-paper/12785/en

The following link is a more general page describing several model and their support environments in NI VeriStand:

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/EPD/p/ID/6488

Some additional modeling environments are supported, but not necessarily listed here since this is a growing list.  In addition, since NEITHER created a strategy of open model interface called NI VeriStand model framework, it would be possible to connect new types of sources of model in NI VeriStand without too much work.  Then the mapping tool, you found, makes the magic of easily to configure the connections of logical data between models.  You can also easily transfer each model to the individual processor cores, which contributes to the speed of calculation for system-level simulations.

  • Is there a way to speed up the RK4 screws?

One of the oldest parts of my application is a simulation of a vector with a value of using the integrated RK4 screw to NiGmathlib. Simulations tend to have about 100 k series of this VI, with 1 k will take about 200ms. If I were to use an implementation of RK4 C under a function node, this would maybe go faster? Or do I just reduce the number of time steps?

Is there a specific lead-time, you must realize, or interest you by speeding up the performance in general?

If an implementation of code C of the RK4 would go more quickly depends on many factors such as the specific implementation of the code, how compilers translate the code, and if so or not the LabVIEW VI or C code is able to take advantage of parallel execution. If you are interested to know which is faster, your best bet is to try each idea. Change him much time seems like the easier, so why not start there and see what you can do?

  • Control and simulation and data acquisition

    Hello

I am applying to motor control in Labview. I'm sampling speed from DC engine in real time through an acquisition of data. (my sampling time is 1000 samples per second)

Then wrap speed as input to a Simulation (simulation and design of the order) and inside the loop simulation, I have a PID controller. The PID has the actual speed of the engine for the acquisition of data and the engine reference speed as input.

Reference engine speed comes from the generator of signals (control design and simulation-Simulation) and is a waveform.

My step in the engine size is 1000.

I am running this application real-time and drawing the reference signal and the motor real signals. I run into several problems with regard to the calendar.

    1. when I change the size of the step of the simulation loop, the frequency of squares of reference also seems to change. For example. What step size = 1000, duration of pulse = 1 s. What step size = 100, pulse width = 0.1. (My pulse frequency is 1 Hz, Simulation clock - 10 kHz). How step size can affect the pulse width.

    2. can you explain the relationship between the DAQ, the Simulation step size loop sampling time, Loop Simulation period.

    3. If I want to collect different sets of data using sampling different hours, it's OK to change the sampling DAQ time without changing the size of the step of the simulation.

Would also like to emphasize that the DAQmx calendar under sample clock mode is placed in front of the simulation loop and the output is connected to the loop simulation.

    Appreciate any help.

    Hello

Maybe some screenshots of your code would help. Furthermore, what you have read your samples together with your DAQ screws?

    (1) If you have a waveform, the output is specified as:

For example, if you change the size of the step of the simulation loop, you change the simulation time which are introduced into the signal generator and affecting the waveform that you see if you do not have a size quite small step to characterize the waveform that you generate.

    (2) sampling DAQ rate is the speed at which samples are taken on the acquisition of card data itself. The size of the simulation step, help. "Specifies the interval between the time when the ODE Solver evaluates the model and updates the results of the model, in a few seconds." Simulation loop, still using, "Indicates the amount of time that elapses between two subsequent iterations of the loop of control & Simulation.". " "Step size determine the value of t that is introduced to the functions you use in the loop simulation while the loop simulation period controls simply to how fast you change the following t value. The sampling rate of DAQ hardware is a clock of completely separate hardware controlling the analogue-digital on the DAQ card converter so that you can get a deterministic dt between the samples being acquired.

    (3) you can change the schedule for the acquisition of data, but you will need to restart each time the changes take effect. If you change the calendar of data acquisition and want your values to correlate with your simulation, you will need to change your size of step as well.

  • Synchronize loops control and Simulation

When simulate control with adjustment of the LV systems and Simulation loops, I often have several loops running at different speeds. For example, I have a loop PWM works at 20 kHz, a loop running at 100 kHz data acquisition and a control loop to running at 10 kHz. How can I synchronize all these loops so that they stay on the same time basis? Of course, the main time base must be at least as fast as the fastest simulation loop.

I tried to synchronize all the loops at 1 kHz clock (I'm on Windows), but each loop runs a period by beat of clock (for example my 20 kHz loop count progressive 50us by beat of clock, my number of loop 100 kHz up to 10 by beating of clock, etc.). I need all the loops to be synchronized in a main time base so the simulation time is identical in each loop, but each loop will be executed at a different pace.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

A quick suggestion - why you cannot run three systems in a single simulation loop, but have different sampling frequencies for the blocks for each system?

Your system is fully digital, or a mixture of continuous and digital - we can simplify things if you can convert in discrete time.

    Hope this helps,

    Andy Clegg

  • VISA series Loopback speed and precision with double loops and a queue

I'm working on a test of communication between 2 PCs. I test communication series RS-422 ports by using a simple loop. PC2 wrote continuous data at 38400 baud to PC1 (LabVIEW test code is here). PC1 reads the data and writes the data to the same port as soon as possible. PC2, reads the data and compares to what should be returned. I can get the highest speed is a speed of about 37300. Because it is continuous, finally that I get an error because the buffer overruns (read and write buffers are 65KO).

It seems that VISA writing takes a lot longer than the VISA read. I do read/write asynchronous operations. I've read a fixed amount of data (1024 bytes) and then queued data to write in another loop. My timeout is set to 0.5 seconds, which is much time opf at 38400 baud (4800 bytes/second). I played a bit with these numbers, and they are the best I can get. If I increase the data read to 2 KB, the queue members increase. If I'm going too low, I start getting the data in the input buffer overrun.

Anyone had experience with this type of test? The code is attached. Please take a look and see if I'm doing things correctly.

    Michael

I do not know if this explains a gap between what you expect and what you found in 0.8 seconds, but you have added another level of complication in using the digiboard.  You don't have a real serial port, but a simulated serial port which is hung at the end of a USB bus.  The digiboard software creates a virtual experiences, and so its driver software and firmware on the side of the Board of Directors of the USB bus must manage some translations to go a number of compote, transfer on the bus and decode the Compote number so that it knows which 8 physical ports that it must send the message to.  You can see delays in translation at each end so something in the USB itself Protocol where it needs group information.

If you have another, a different brand of the serial ports, you can use, you might want to try one of these to see if you get similar or different results.  But I don't think it's a good idea to try to test the limits of a serial communication device using hardware that adds the other layers of the communication protocol and therefore complicated results.
