Speed wireless advantage with new time capsule?

I have an old TimeCapsule (without 801.ac) my new Macs have 801 capable cards. AC.

Currently when several computers hit activity broadband router (TimeCapsule) (video streaming, etc.) slows down considerably.

He asked the last TimeCapsule will fix this?  I wish I had the largest disk TC in any case.  [An older current has only 500 GB drive]

Appreciate all advice from experienced users.

Thank you

It won't make your ISP faster speed, if that's what is limiting performance.

I can't find the instructions on how to proceed and AirPort Extreme do not seem to apply.

Hmm.  A time Capsule is an AirPort Extreme with a built-in hard drive, so what works for one should work for the other and vice versa. You might be looking at old operating instructions?

Since you've decided to add a new modem, Time Capsule will be reset back to the default settings and then set it up again to work with the new modem.  Apple installation "wizard" will guide you in installing the time Capsule, by appointing a wireless network, set up a password, etc, so the process is very easy to name.

The installation provided with your Time Capsule Guide goes on how to set up the time Capsule.

After resetting the time Capsule to factory default settings, you would connect an Ethernet cable from the modem into the "O" on the Time Capsule WAN port.

To get the "Assistant" Setup running, just click the WiFi icon at the top of the screen of the Mac and are looking for the new AirPort base station. Just below that, click directly on the Time Capsule.  The example below shows an AirPort Extreme, but you would see on your screen time Capsule.

When you click on the Time Capsule, the next screen that is displayed looks like this, except that you will see a picture of a Capsule of time on your screen.

Simply click next to get the process going and follow the instructions.

  • Load new Time Capsule with backup t. m.?

I have an end 2013 27 "iMac running OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.6, with a new 3 TB Time Capsule. In the process of upgrading my original model A1470, 2 TB Time Machine awkwardly, I managed to detach the tablecloth of the end circuit rather than simply ripped hard drive making rubber on the 2 TB hard drive itself. This time Capsule is actually useless now. I installed the original drive work with my TM backups in a USB 3 enclosure with the intention of transferring its contents to my new Time Capsule. When the original Monte drive, it shows as 3 (?) partitions, labeled: APconfig; APswap; and the data. 'Data' has 84,46 GB of data in files "Backups.backupdb" and "ShareRoot. The other partitions are essentially empty-APconfig with a single file "AFP.reconect_keys" to 24 bytes and a total content of 15.6 MB and APswap without files containing 15.3 mb.

How to use this original TC hard disk to load my backups Time Machine on my NEW 3 to Time Capsule? I only discovered how to load a T.C. from file to archive hard disk, but not the original files of TC.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

What you are, indeed, now doing is to copy/move an existing Time Machine backup 'network', a local disk to another drive (aka, your new Time Capsule) network.

Basically, Time Machine uses a different backup format with readers local vs. network drives. You now have a backup of "network format" on a local disk. Time Machine will not be able to use this backup 'local', as it is, because it is not in a format that is "local." Sorry if that sounds confusing. It was confusing for me just to write it.

A method that would work would be to clone the backup, but it only works when the two backups will be 'local format' ones.

Worst case, I recommend that you come to start a new backup and use the one as archive.

  • New Time Capsule ranging from Windows to Mac with file sharing.

OK, so we bought a new time capsule recently and my family migrates slowly over Apple products.

My question comes from having moved all our old saved files from various sources during the share of time capsule. Currently, the file system is FAT32 because that's what it was by default and I don't see an option to adjust it.

"My wife has a time machine backup works fine already on the device, but when she opens the 'data' /: Time Capsule" on the Mac, we don't see any of these files that I put in there. What should we do, she can be seen on Mac.

What OS is the Mac running?

Can you please show me what you can see on the Mac... because the screenshot of Windows with all the deleted folder names is not helpful at all.

I assume you can open all windows files... did you create the folder in windows?

Let me suggest that you create the folder in the Mac. then copy the files through him, to the windows machine.

Apple uses file permissions, and permissions have become significantly more restrictive of the end. Windows seems to ignore... but you might need repair permissions until it works.

NOTE... the appearance of the windows FAT32 is not real... It's because of the way windows reads the network of the TC function... the drive is not formatted FAT32 in the TC... It is HFS +, a Mac format... offered by SMB (windows network blocks) which windows reads with FAT32.

Time Capsule migration - My current Time Capsule 1 TB (Version 7.6.7) is complete and is overwhelming back more old ups. How can I migrate back existing ups of my current for a new time Capsule time capsule (2 TB or 3 TB)? El Capitan 10.11.6 OSX

You just set up the new TC and plug the old TC... copy the sparsebundle existing old TC to the new... but we do not recommend to do this.

It's much better to start a new backup TM on the new TC and keep the old one for several months until you have a fair story and if you need never old file the chances you decreases considerably with time.

  • My old Airport Extreme 802.11n will work well with my new Time Capsule 802.11ac airport?

I got a new 802.11ac 3 TB time capsule and I would use my Airport Extreme 802.11n as an Extender but I fear that 802.11n is too old technology.

No, it will be fine. I have the same setup on my network. Whenever I update my AirPort Extreme, I use the 'old' to expand the network throughout the House.

I hope that answers your question.

  • BT SmartHub with airport Time Capsule

I have been using my Airport Extreme (Time Capsule), connected to an infinite number of BT Modem for quite awhile this provision of my wireless network and a large drive to transfer data between iMac and MacBook pro (etc) (I poured the Bt HomeHub 3 in favor of the Airport Extreme). Unfortunately I had to also provide a down WiFi Repeater for total WiFi coverage throughout the House. I just got a new SmartHub BT who now gives me a WiFi coverage at exceptional speeds throughout the House (it's been so far with 2 Infinity Modem).

The problem I have now is that I can't effectively use Time Capsule as my NAS (or at least is what seems to be the case). If I leave on time capsule, its wireless network is visible as before, but of course I can't use it as I have the wireless network BT providing WiFi Internet connectivity. So how to connect the clip time to my 'new' network so that it is visible both the iMac and the MacBook only as a drive.

You have a few choices, both methods require that the Time Capsule (TC) keep in touch with the new HomeHub BT by Ethernet:

    1. Reconfigure the TC as a bridge and disable its wireless radios.
    2. Reconfigure the TC as a bridge and then configure the HomeHub and TC in a mobile network. It would be more logical if you need to expand the network of the HomeHub wireless.
  • News Time Capsule, who am I clicking / moving from the old to the new

I am installing a new time machine.  I can't find anything that clearly explain what exactly I'm clicking and dragging from the old to the new.  It States in the article apple in the Finder to drag the time capsule backup disk image to the new original airport.  I do not see that whatever this is called image backup drive when I'm in the Finder.  I have the following:

OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.5

    MacBook, late 2009

Airport Time Capsule, 1 TB, think its 3rd generation

Here is the link to the apple site I use for instructions.

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/ht204078

When I click on the time capsule (when connected via Ethernet), I see a yellow folder called data. Data are referred to as a sharepoint under type.

When I double click on data, Finder displays the content on my time machine which are as follows:
    -' of a lizardson MacBook"it's a sparsebundle
    -' of a lizardson MacBook 1"is a sparsebundle

-3 or 4 files that I created to copy things from my computer not apple at the time machine and back to my mac

I also noticed that after I double-clicked on data I see an icon on the desktop, title given (with the icon that represents the data on a time capsule).

In Time Machine preferences, when I click Select backup disk, call it data (and has the same icon as the one on the desktop).

The State of instructions to click and drag in the finder... but think (which is probably not correctly) I'm docking time at my office - and just above machines drag this folder 'Data' on a new via the Office of the former?

  • TWC Modem/Router-with Apple Time Capsule extreme

Can someone find me on this configuration?

I'm trying to improve the coverage of the WiFi in my house and I'm trying to do so via an ethernet connection to two Capsules of time separate Apple.  One is an airport Time Capsule 802.11n (3rd generation/Firmware 7.6.4) and the other is a Time Capsule 802.11ac Airport (7.73 firmware).

I have a Time Warner cable wireless modem/router (Arris 860 has TG1672G). The configuration in the network for NAT settings is "RoutedWithNAT". I'm going out this modem/router via a ZyXel AV2000 HomePlug AV2 Powerline Gigabit Pass-Thru 2-port Ethernet Adapter (I have no ethernet strung in this particular room) in the AC of the Apple Time Capsule 802.11.  The configuration for that Time Capsule is Mode/Off/network wireless and network /Router Mode / Off (Bridge Mode).  The other Time Capsule has the same configuration.

That is the question... is the right way to get faster WiFi?  I realize by using the Homeplug may not help my cause, but I have to guess that it is faster to go wireless two correct time Capsules?

The issue I'm having is that it's slow and I can't understand why.

Thank you for the kind words.

I wanted to add a few things to this post...

I tested out the ZyXel ethernet to my MacBook Pro and ran a Speedtest.  He retired.  Very fast.

Here are the screenshots of my two time Capsules config and my modem/router from Time Warner.

In the meantime, here is the speed I get via radio... pretty dismal.

  • I'm unable to connect a Canon wireless printer to my Time Capsule / Airport utility

Looking for advice on how to connect to a Canon wireless printer to my wireless (Time Capsule).  Airport utility does not see an option to add a WiFi printer.

If you are referring to the method of adding a printer WPS...

    Open AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the time Capsule

Click the Edit button in the window that appears

Click on the menu of The Base Station ... up where you see the icon Apple, file, window, help and other menus at the top of the computer screen top

    Click Add a WPS printer

There are two methods available... . First of all try (which is identical to a button press the Time Capsule) and PIN, using a code. Choosing the right method according to the instructions provided in the installation Guide for your printer.

  • Extend the reach of the WiFi with airport Time Capsule and Airport Express

I want to extend the range of my WiFi network running on a Time Capsule with an Airport Extreme airport. The Internet, ADSL, signal goes from the cable box in a closet and has two Ethernet cables connecting the box. I installed a simple Ethernet switch and ran inside, with both Internet cables Ethernet Miss and in two rooms in my apartment. I created the Capsule of time like the WiFi router, then the Express in the other room in Bridge Mode to extend the range of the WiFi network and enable AirPlay. This configuration works well for a while, but after a certain time has problems. The Express seems to go back to the creation of the WiFi network on its own and I saw the problem of the conflict addreses DCHP.

What seemed to work correctly using the Express as the "pivot" and I fell straight Internet on it and an Ethernet cable to connect the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode. It's far from ideal for me, however, because I like the Express to be in another room to extend the range of the WiFi network in this part of my apartment and be able to use it for AirPlay.

    Help, please.

If you could let us know what operating system you use on your Mac or PC, we'll give you a configuration suggested for the AirPort Express, which will allow the Express and the Time Capsule to connect to the Ethernet switch and perform correctly.

We assume that the switch and the wiring will function properly in your current configuration, as well as the time Capsule, is that correct?
