Sprites of nits

If you go to http://www.l4dt.com/ you will see the swf "boomer" to the right. As green sprites more out of her mouth. Both the rotating header swf and swf slow boomer. Why is this?

Sprites fine start, then as more in the screen at a shared time, everything becomes slow, but there aren't even that many sprites! Laughing out loud. You will see.

Is a possible solution to export this animation in After Effects and make several times on behalf of compression?

I thought that's how Adobe gets their big show off animations to run smoothly, without worrying, there must be a way to get my SWF smoothly.

The woofer is constructed from three files:

Boomer.fla - http://www.l4dt.com/boomer.fla

Bommer.FLA document class, PxlFountain.as(courtesy of http://www.pxl.dk/flash/004.php) - http://www.l4dt.com/PxlFountain.as

GlowParticle.as - http://www.l4dt.com/GlowParticle.as

Boomer.fla puts Strip without actionscript, even if I need to know how to position it above the sprites of spawning (something I'll need to know for the App displays as well).

The swf file is inserted in Worpress 2.7 footer.php. My Wordpress engine has 14 plugins installed and activated (I intend to go each plugin with Wordpress code and optimize it soon). WordPress is a possible suspect for the slow?

Boomer.fla dimensions are 950 pixels in width and 625 pixels in height. I'd rather Boomer.fla only be 605 x 196 and set to noscale and 100 %x 100% in the hope of the sprites to achieve all of the user's screen, but they always cut the dimensions of the SADF.

I don't see where you do anything to prepare glowparticles for gc. and you can activate their cacheAsBitmap property.

    When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

    -Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
    -Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    Some containers have a removeAllChildren() method, otherwise, you will have to do what gluth has suggested:

    while( this.numChildren > 0 )

  • Cannot add container to the 2nd Sprite

    Is it possible to add UIComponents to a separate sprite of the main sprite?

    for example, I popup that is just a sprite added ontop of the sprite on the stage.

    I don't get any errors, he just pretended that they aren't there. Here is a code for an example:

    package
    {
        import flash.display.Sprite;
        import qnx.ui.core.*;

        [SWF(height="600", width="1024", frameRate="30", backgroundColor="#FFFFFF")]
        public class Example extends Sprite
        {
            public function Example()
            {

                super();
                //put in a popup
                this.addChild(new popup());

            }
        }
    }

    package
    {
        import flash.display.Shape;
        import flash.display.Sprite;

        import qnx.ui.core.*;

        public class popup extends Sprite {
            public function popup(){

                super();

                // make a background for the popup
                var shape:Shape;
                shape = new Shape();
                shape.graphics.beginFill(0x000000,0.9);
                shape.graphics.drawRect(0,0,600,300);
                shape.graphics.endFill();
                this.addChild(shape);

                //add a container to the popup
                var myMain:Container = new Container();
                myMain.margins = Vector.([50,60,50,60]);
                myMain.flow = ContainerFlow.HORIZONTAL;
                myMain.debugColor = 0xFFCC00;

                this.addChild(myMain);
            }
        }

    }

    Add at the end of your popup code:

    myMain.setSize(600, 300);

    to force the layout to update and to your container will be displayed.

    Default x and y are 0, so they did not need to be set unless you need to change the position.

  • After sprite zooming, focus is stuck on the last field of click

    Hi all

    I encountered a very weird problem,

    I had a sprite with zoom, mouse down, mouse move, and mouse event listeners. I mostly try to zoom to the sprite and can move on the sprite.

    After the zoom of the sprite, if I do not click on any field, fine; However, if I click on any fields such as label, textbox, etc.. Looks like this field clings to my finger, anywhere, I click on the screen, the field always moved to this new point of click. And the script will be nervous receive mouse event. All of these fields had no mouse to the top, bottom, move the handler set up.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Found work around it.

    The reason for high level sprite has not received mouse event because there's a scrollpane on the leprechaun and somehow, it's eat this mouse event.

    Work is about: Add a mouse until the listener of events on the scroll pane and send back the sprite event directly.

  • The label on the top of the Sprite event management

    Hi everyone, it's more of a general question of Actionscript, but Google does offer all the answers.

    So I made a custom component, element that extends the Sprite class. I draw things on the graphics in this class and then I add a Label to display text.

    In another class, where I create instances of the previous class, I add an EventListener for MouseEvent.Click.  In this function, there is this line:

    selectedElement = Element(event.target);

    In short, I want the variable selectedElement to contain the element on which click it. But I ran into problems, event.target is not always an instance of my class. If I click where the label is, event.target is a Label.

    How can I organize if click anywhere on my element, in particular on the label, it's the element of class that dispatches an event and not on its label. I think I need to intercept events of labels in some way, but no idea how to do this.

    Thank you in advance.

    Too bad, in the event class stopPropagation method has been what I was looking for.

  • Shadow around sprite

    Is it possible to add a shadow around a whole sprite or individual controls, we added the sprite (in AS3)?

    flash.filters.DropShadowFilter

    should be what you're looking for. Here's a quick pseudo-code example:

    import flash.filters.DropShadowFilter;

    var dropShadowFilter:DropShadowFilter = new DropShadowFilter(distance:Number, angle:Number, color:uint, alpha:Number, blurX:Number, blurY:Number, strength:Number, quality:int, inner:Boolean, knockout:Boolean hideObject:Boolean);

    var s:Sprite = new Sprite();
    s.graphics.beginFill(0xFF0000, 1);
    s.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 10, 10);
    s.graphics.endFill();
    addChild(s);

    s.filters = [dropShadowFilter];

  • Table of sprite individual addEventListener

    Hi, I ran into a problem of its too obvious or not many people meet because I can't seem to find a solution online!

    The problem is I have table of sprite - 10 of them - and I need to save them all at a click event that changes color from black to white sprite.

    However, I do not want to write:

    a[1].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, change1);
    a[2].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, change2);
    a[3].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, change3);
    ... etc

    Because they are all supposed to do the same thing (changing color from black to white), is there a way for me to use a single click event 'change' and at the same time know that click event demand comes from knowing that 'a', the user clicked?

    Please help me!

    I just assumed that you created your own class which extended the Sprite class, and you called it YourSpriteClass. In your case, your code should be:

    c = new Array();
    for (var i:int = 0; i < 10; i++)
    {
        c[i] = new Sprite();
        c[i].graphics.beginFill(0x000000);
        c[i].graphics.drawRect(50 + i*20, 50 + i*20, 30, 30);
        c[i].graphics.endFill();
        c[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, change);
    }

    public function change(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
        var source:Sprite = event.target as Sprite;
            //Code here!
    }

    You can also use

    public function change(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
        var source:Sprite = Sprite(event.target);
            //Code here!
    }

    The only difference is that the variable source in the first case will be nil when event.target is not a Sprite (like when you assigned the EventListener to something else, as well) and the second solution will throw a TypeError.

  • Understand the legacy of Sprite

    I am new to both AS3 and PlayBook and my app grows my code get messier.  I would like to throw some methods in a class that is different in this way I can clean up my code, but one thing that I ran is methods I interact with children we added the sprite (my default class extends sprite), in order to be a newb I just did another class sprite extended and tried to add my methods to the new class and initializing in my default class but the display objects are never added as children.

    I know it's just me not knowing how the legacy and the sprite and steps work.

    My goal

    If (loggedin)

    Firsttime:firsttime = new FirstTime;

    firsttime.runFirst;

    }

    on the other

    loadMainScreen();

    When the runFirst has several methods chained together which add and remove children but also request for the user to input of the main sprite, then when it finishs I want him to call loadMainScreen() which is in the default class.

    I did some research to help, but I decided to go and ask here if someone could give me an example or explanation of how to pull this off.

    It is ideal for creating "pages" that is added to the root sprite.  In your case your would have a home page and a page «first time»  There are many threads and code samples and libraries that cover this topic.  Each 'page' would be their own class that extends Sprite or UIComponent and they are added and remove the sprite from root based on an action or application.

  • Wait for the sprite press / clicked

    Hi, I am trying to display graphics when the user touches the sprite first which I reproduce, then another graphic when the user releases the sprite (raises their finger). I don't know how to go on this subject! Please help me!

    Thanks in advance

    On the Sprite that you draw in, add an event listener for mouse down and mouse upwards.  This will work only on drawn graphs and not areas of the sprite which pulled anything in.

    private var sprite: Sprite = new Sprite();

    //...

    addChild (sprite);

    make the drawing

    sprite.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, MouseDown);

    //...

    private function MouseDown (event: MouseEvent): void

    {

    this.sprite.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, MouseUp);

    do something

    }

    private void MouseUp (event: MouseEvent): void

    {

    this.sprite.removeEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, MouseUp);

    do something

    }

  • Problem of rotating sprite.

    I need to do the porting of mobile games a lot and I get a lot of problem with rotation sprite on the emulator.

    I don't have any mobile to test my bb app, it's just a problem of emulator or there is a special way to manage image/sprite rotation?
