History of the update has disappeared

OK I just installed a windows update then changed my mind and uninstalled IT - my story is now gone-tried a system restore to get it back without success. I can see updates installed, but not history.

So I trust that updates are still there? I didn't run fix 50202. (WIN 7 x 64)

Yes I know it's an old topic/question

I just make sure that everything is still there - I saw:

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/all/update-history-is-gone/e4351e1d-f8b2-40f5-bae8-d5b225edd5b5

Q: you recently run the troubleshooting Windows Update tool or reset the Windows Update components?
A: yes/today ' hui-convenience store (fix - it)

WYSIWYG.

Run the troubleshooting Windows Update tool or reset Windows Update components (using the Windows Update troubleshooting tool) and/or difficulty running it #50202 in advanced mode will remove your history of update but not the list of installed updates.

  • I have no idea why these pages don't mention this.

PS: KB3075851, nor KB3065987, nor KB3050265 nor KB2990214 is a prerequisite of Win10. That being said, the upgrade to Win10 after the installation of KB3075851 can improve your chances of success (i.e., less problematic) upgrade.

  • Check Windows Update has disappeared

I disabled the box in Windows Update settingsso as to not give me updates for Microsoft products and not to check the new optional Microsoft software when I update Windows.

After that, the box has disappeared in the settings window, and I can't go back on my decision. I read somewhere that it could be corrected using the policy editor. I attemppted to do, but it did not work satisfactorily.

Is there an effective way to restore this box which has disappeared from the settings window?

    [Running Windwos 7 Pro 64-bit]

I found that I could try to clear the history in Windows Update as follows:

Paste this command to search for Windows.
    %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\

Go to the datastore folder, and delete the content. Reboot and re-scan updated them.

I did the above, after following the instructions of MowGreen wuauserv and bits.

After restarting the PC, the Windows Update page includes all the options and now shows the box who had disappeared.

The only thing I lost was the history of Windows Update.

  • The Inbox has disappeared from my list of IMAP folders.

My email accounts, the Inbox has disappeared after clicking the reset button in the box of IMAP folders.  No Inbox folder appears under the 'all' or 'Visible' tabs.  I discovered this after creating a new account (there are about 6 other) and noticed that there was no Inbox.  To the title of the Quick views into account, there is always an Inbox that shows the mails for all accounts, but the inboxes individual accounts I have reset disappeared.

No solution seemed to be available, even if on some forums ppl asks to see the Inbox folder are displayed for a short while, in the page of IMAP folder - I have not.  Any ideas?  Oh, it's on my laptop with 7 Ultimate; I have not tried this yet on my house last month w/Vista PC

    UPDATE

I solved the problem... at least, I managed to recover mailboxes.  Take a chance, I just simply deleted each e-mail account and then recreated the accounts.  Presto!  Inboxes are back.

I don't know why it does not appear when you create the new account last week, or why the inboxes of the other missing accounts on reset records, but apparently there was a problem, yet to be explained.

    Thanks for your attention!

    Suggest you clean boot Vista x 64 . Perform step 1 .
Once in the clean boot state, run the Fixit here in clicking on the Internet Explorer shortcut and choosing "Run as Administrator" . Enter a password, if one is used, or click on the button continue. :
How to reset the Windows Update components?

Then click the Fixit button, click run in the file download dialog box, and follow the steps described in the fix it Wizard. and choose the default option. Restart the system after the tool runs and check if updates are available, and if they install automatically.
Since it's Patch Tuesday, updates should be available for the system soon, if not today.
IF no updates installed automatically in the coming days, rerun the Fixit but aggressive use.
    Don't forget
to Cancel the clean boot once you have completed the steps running the Fixit.

    Hi dstaub53,

In "gone", I assume that you do not see the menu of all the Programs.Accessories? Try clicking on the Start button and typing sound (or tape recorder) in the search box. The sound recorder.exe file should then appear at the top of the search list.
