square corners

I would like to have a script that takes a form

(such as a rectangle) and check

the sides at 90 degree angle.  It could change the length of the part of the shape to fit the need of the angle of 90 degrees.

Nice challenge!

In particular, because she needs a strict explanation of what you want... This Javascript from the first point drawn (as much as can be that), then around the object, by checking the slope to the next point. If that slope is not right, the Next is moved horizontally or vertically to line up. Therefore, it is quite possible (likely, even) you get something different from what you expect. A six-sided polygon, for example, can collapse into a rectangle or (when it is turned slightly) in a straight line!

(It is a Javascript script, so save it as "straightenLines.jsx" in some place - preference, your local Illustrator Scripts folder, so it appears in the file-> Scripts menu at the next startup. Select an object and then run the script.)

(You can remove the comment markers to see that the angles were before running the script. These calculations were based on another idea, but then I decided to do it the easy way.)

if (app.documents.length > 0 && app.selection.length == 1 && app.selection[0] instanceof PathItem)
{
     pts = app.selection[0].pathPoints;
     for (pp=0; pp

  • Get square corners

    This is the road I took to get 4 corners of a square, if I have the Center and width/height. Is there a simpler way, or a VI that does what I missed? Sometimes, there are screws that do similar things, drawing palette and I wonder if he has neglected.

    Here's what I'd do. (I think TCT had a similar idea).

    You could even get rid of the 2 and just add 0.5, - 0.5, etc. in the constant of the diagram.

  • Create a form with round and square corners

    Hi all

    I haven't used illustrator for awhile, so I am really stuck on soemthing that should be simple.

    I want to create a form has rounded on the bottom and the cormers square top corners.

    1.png

    I have created two forms, one with rounded corners with a square.

    I was hoping to put together, and then use the pathfinder to join them, but this, then do the round corner square.

    Is it possible to unite the shapes with different corners.

    Draw a rectangle rounded with the rounded Rectangle (not with effects) tool.

    Then draw a horizontal line across the top of it.

    With only the line selected, go to object > path > divide objects below. Remove the high bit of the page.

    Then, if you wish, you can direct select the two albums of corners and drag upwards or downwards as you need.

  • Polygon w radius of corners, aka 6 rectangle cornered to rays?

    Hi people,

    CS5/Win is the platform.

    I have a 'calendar' design that should have groups of days described (generally regarded as a "rectangle with rounded corners"), but because of the schedule sometimes days being 'stated' are on separate lines. Picture regular corners at the top on the left and the upper right corner, but the line 'left down' and 'bottom-right"are not the same. Usually the "lower left" is a lower than the 'in bottom right"line. Imagine the lower row, resembling a 'stairs' with a single step.

    The problem seems to be that when you draw a "rectangle" with more than 4 corners, some type of 'management of RADIUS' is underway, and a radius of gets changed (reduced) so that the rays do not conform to the object.

    Everyone knows this? No work around? FWIW, the distance available between the two corners (which is assigned) has a sufficient distance to create the RADIUS expected...

    Help, anyone?

    I am able to reproduce this, but it seems to happen only when you reach a certain threshold for the size of the sides of your shape. My suspicion is that is related to the corner live path effects are managed (you can't, for example, get a real pair of. 25 "corners of rays on one dimension 5" using the effects of rounding - ID just won't go beyond the max RADIUS, which will allow the small required flat between the corners), which differs from the corners of the way which have been addressed in previous versions. I think you need to adtually draw curves yourself with the pen, or go through a fairly complex series of operations of pathfinder to combine different rounded and square cornered rectangles:

    Cyan, magenta and yellow forms have been alldrawn with the tool rectangle, then selected together and a corner option applied. The pathfinder can combine forms Cyan, yellow and green, and then subtract the Magenta of the form combined in a second time. The colors are for example: you don't need fillings to work.

    For what it's worth, I think it sounds better visually if the inside of the corner has a smaller radius, but you can combine things as you want using this method.

  • Corners Live appears

    Hello

    I have a lot of forms of CS4, each had several boxes with 3 rounded corners and a square corner. In CS5 all square corners changed to rounded corners. When I click on the box, I don't see the yellow diamond indicating the living corners.  Is it possible to turn the living corners for these boxes?
    Thanks in advance

    Sounds like the square corner on these boxes were made using a trick that existed in earlier versions does not work now.  I can't be totally sure because I did not know until recently, and so I don't know how it works.  But if it were it would have broken the direct angle options when you opened it in CS5.

    Anyway to answer your question, try to go object > convert shape > Rectangle.  I can't test if it will work here or not, but it should.

  • Rounded corners using the rectangular selection tool

    Hello

    Being new Photosop CS3, I used the tool of rectangle Rect (RMT) and saw that my corners are rounded (round/nets) and the bottom of the box is mixed. Is there a way to reset the RMT while I have square corners and no mixing. Also, in time, I would like to have my RMT do so, how can I have rounded corners. (Of course, I did something)

    Thank you

    Steve

    In the Options bar at the top, set the feather to zero.

    You can always add feathers to the time where you want.

    Or use the form if you want more control. Draw a path with it and convert the path to a selection.

    Hello

    Restart the service of themes. Click Start, type services and press . Click on continue in the UAC prompt. Locate "Thèmes" in the list and click on it. Click the restart option in the left column. It should find your Vista theme.

  • Cannot reset the border of the subform?

    I'm changing the JavaScript ColorFieldsValidation to manage a situation where I want the subform set containing all fields failed to be highlighted. Highlighting works well. However, even when validation is successful, highlighting persists. I think I narrowed down it to line 32, which seems only to remove the lower border. I know that this code was written to remove the borders of fields, but why it works not for subforms?

    function InitializeColorFields() {

        }
    }
    function DoColorFields(oInvalidNode) {
        // If this form is running on a client other than Acrobat
        // (like on the server) then don't run this script
        if (xfa.host.name != "Acrobat") {
            return;
        }
        var sClassName = oInvalidNode.className;

        // Only contests, so nodes that are <field>s and
        // have name "Selected"
        // Ignore everything else
        if ((sClassName != "field") &&
            (oInvalidNode.name != "Selected")) {
            return;
        }

            oBorder.parent.nodes.remove(oBorder);

        }
        else {
            // Validation Failed
            // Show the invalid appearance
            var oFailedBorder = nearestContest.border;
            // Border color
            // Show a solid border with square corners
            var sBorderColor;
                sBorderColor = "51, 102, 255";
            if (sBorderColor != "none") {

                oFailedBorder.presence = "visible";

                    var oCorner = oFailedBorder.getElement("corner", i);

                    oCorner.presence = "visible";
                    oCorner.color.value = sBorderColor;
                    oCorner.thickness = "2pt";

            // Show a solid fill color
            var sFillColor;
            sFillColor = "153, 204, 255";

            if (sFillColor != "none") {
                // The presence of the border must be visible to show the fill.
                // Hide the edges when the invalid appearance doesn't include
                // changing the border color
                if (oFailedBorder.presence != "visible") {
                    oFailedBorder.presence = "visible";
                    oFailedBorder.edge.presence = "invisible";
                }

                // Replace the current fill type with a solid fill
                if (oFailedBorder.fill.oneOfChild.className != "solid") {
                    var oFailedFillType = oFailedBorder.fill.oneOfChild;
                    oFailedBorder.fill.nodes.remove(oFailedFillType);

                    var oSolid = xfa.form.createNode("solid", "");
                    oFailedBorder.fill.nodes.append(oSolid);
                }
                oFailedBorder.fill.color.value = sFillColor;
            }
        }
    }

    An example that illustrates this problem is here: Acrobat.com shared - files

    I have "fixed" the problem by changing the line 32 to this:

    xfa.resolveNode(nearestContest.border.somExpression).presence = "invisible";

    It seems that, contrary to the edge of a field, border of a subform cannot be removed.

  • Submit button display form differently on mobile to the Web of Muse site

    Hello!

    I have created a mobile version of presentation of an arrangement of office in the Muse. There is a form of contact on both mobile and office. The version of Office Watch the button submit with square corners, which is how I asked so he could wear the title. However, when the mobile version is published and considered it shows the rounded corners instead of the formatting squared corners. Is this an inevitable browser problem or is this something that can be fixed?

    There is another button on a different page, which is not related to a form which shows perfectly on desktop and mobile.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Hi Nat,

    Thank you very much for this information.
