Polygon w radius of corners, aka 6 rectangle cornered to rays?

Hi people,

CS5/Win is the platform.

I have a 'calendar' design that should have groups of days described (generally regarded as a "rectangle with rounded corners"), but because of the schedule sometimes days being 'stated' are on separate lines. Picture regular corners at the top on the left and the upper right corner, but the line 'left down' and 'bottom-right"are not the same. Usually the "lower left" is a lower than the 'in bottom right"line. Imagine the lower row, resembling a 'stairs' with a single step.

The problem seems to be that when you draw a "rectangle" with more than 4 corners, some type of 'management of RADIUS' is underway, and a radius of gets changed (reduced) so that the rays do not conform to the object.

Everyone knows this? No work around? FWIW, the distance available between the two corners (which is assigned) has a sufficient distance to create the RADIUS expected...

Help, anyone?

I am able to reproduce this, but it seems to happen only when you reach a certain threshold for the size of the sides of your shape. My suspicion is that is related to the corner live path effects are managed (you can't, for example, get a real pair of. 25 "corners of rays on one dimension 5" using the effects of rounding - ID just won't go beyond the max RADIUS, which will allow the small required flat between the corners), which differs from the corners of the way which have been addressed in previous versions. I think you need to adtually draw curves yourself with the pen, or go through a fairly complex series of operations of pathfinder to combine different rounded and square cornered rectangles:

Cyan, magenta and yellow forms have been alldrawn with the tool rectangle, then selected together and a corner option applied. The pathfinder can combine forms Cyan, yellow and green, and then subtract the Magenta of the form combined in a second time. The colors are for example: you don't need fillings to work.

For what it's worth, I think it sounds better visually if the inside of the corner has a smaller radius, but you can combine things as you want using this method.

  • How do I snap-are they a polygon by dragging?

In previous versions of PS, I could just keep changing and that I moved the cursor while dragging a polygon custom, it should turn to the amounts of useful (like making a flat Hexagon on the top or flat on the sides), but now it is not hang on to the Nice angles, it's just on the fly.

As I wrote how the forced SHIFT modifier key depends on the tool used. There are at least 6 tool shape and how works the SHIFT key differs between them.  You can extract a polygon with several of them. A Rectangle is a polygon and then the shape of polygon tool and the custom shape tool.

Hang out with the 2 rectangle tools shape SHIFT forced to a place and Alt of the Center and you can not rotate

Ellipse shape tool that SHIFT forced into a circle and Alt to hang out downtown and you can not rotate

With the polygon tool without a modifier key drag out is equilateral Center and you can rotate to any degree the Alt key has no effect the clichés of the SHIFT key rotation to 45 degree and constrain the rotation to 45-degree increments. So if you rotate a polygon that has 8 or a multiple of 8, you will not be able to see the rotation.

With the change shape tool line forced the line to angles 45 8 compass

With the custom shape tool shift polygon will be forced from the shape to its defined proportions and Alt drag on Center and you can not rotate

    Nice challenge!

In particular, because she needs a strict explanation of what you want... This Javascript from the first point drawn (as much as can be that), then around the object, by checking the slope to the next point. If that slope is not right, the Next is moved horizontally or vertically to line up. Therefore, it is quite possible (likely, even) you get something different from what you expect. A six-sided polygon, for example, can collapse into a rectangle or (when it is turned slightly) in a straight line!

(It is a Javascript script, so save it as "straightenLines.jsx" in some place - preference, your local Illustrator Scripts folder, so it appears in the file-> Scripts menu at the next startup. Select an object and then run the script.)

(You can remove the comment markers to see that the angles were before running the script. These calculations were based on another idea, but then I decided to do it the easy way.)

    Hello

Since the update to illustrator 18.1 today, I noticed that when you create an object by using the rectangle or rounded rectangle tool I'm get a bounding box.

At first I thought that he had reset the option to hide the bounding box, but it is still active. I can create any other shape (ellipse, polygon, Star) or even the hand draw a rectangle and it

Displays the boundary, but not with the tool box.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

    David, other,

    An update:

It seems that the Rectangle of live bug is limited to MAC versions starting from 10.7 and 10.8, but not 10.9 (Mavericks), see this thread linked below.

    https://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1595973

Thus, a switch for the Mavericks with a reinstall might be the way to solve it here and now.

It is possible to extend the live Rectangles for the normal old shaped rectangles.

A way round that is to create normal old shaped rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

  • less question duplex

Hey guys, I'm a newbee in Illustrator. I am currently following a tutorial. I know that most of the basic functions. But lately I have an irritating problem and can't seem to find a logical solution on the internet also, of course, I tried them. Here are the details > > >

1.I have created a polygon with radius of 150px. black and yellow fill outline. then applied round corner effects effect > Stylize.

    2. then I went to object > expand appearance.

    3. then created another small polygon (75px RADIUS) on the first

(I want to subtract this little larger polygon polygon. these two are, of course dissociated)

    4. I chose the two polygons by using shift + click and click less to scout

and the error pops up, 'filter produces no result, select two or several paths intersect.

    what I am doing wrong?

P.S. the strange thing is, this filter works sometimes and sometimes, I am above error for the same step 5

I started feeling its a matter of Illustrator... is it?

    Tutorial that I follow > > http://www.vectorcove.com/tutorials/icon-design/logo-design-in-adobe-illustrator/

I think that the problem is your first extended form is now a group consisting of a trace object and a filled object. and the path perfectly object overlays the filled (as they used to be a single object). so when you try less before, you would end up with no form, as one of your forms rides in front of perfectly the shape at the back.

Edit: Yes, watching the tutorial, they don't use a path object.

  • reset the weird acting bounding box in Illustrator CC2014

I upgraded to Illustrator CC 2014 last week and I have a problem with delivery to zero limit box function. With previous versions of Illustrator, upward through and including the previous version of CC, I was able to use the reset function bounding box after the rotation of an object to reset the X limits / there axes. Now, in 2014 of CC, I am unable to do it with rectangles, and rounded rectangles. He still works for ellipses and polygons and stars, but not for the rectangles. When I rotate a rectangle and try to reset the bounding box, nothing happens. Is there some arcane adjustment that I managed to turn on or off? Everyone knows about this problem?

News, tips, tricks, or condolences are appreciated.

You must release the first rectangle. It is a direct form.

Read about rectangles directly in the section "News" of the manual (it is presented each time you start the program after all).

  • [JS] A new child object

    Hello

I may be question of a beginner-how can I define a new object (i.e. the polygon) as a child of an existing rectangle? (If the new object is placed in an existing one.) I am able to do this by cutting and by pasting in but I do not like it.

    TIA

Rectangles have a collection of polygons, you can do:

    myRectangle.polygons.add)

You will need to provide the appropriate parameters for the call of the add() method.

  • Change of colour of several objects when the background color changes?

    Hello everyone

I have another question about transparency in an image.

    rcae.png

    My image has layers

    -bottom - 2: white rectangle

-background - 1: polygonal shape of blue on the white rectangle

    -level 1: image of boat

-level 2-5: the Tower in the form of text, 4, a value of 0, the "years".

What I want to do is to change the gray tones of levels only if they are on the blue form

I tried to use clipping masks, transparent traces, opacity... without success masks. The best I managed was using transparency and mode to achieve this fusion

    RCAE 40 épave 01.png

I am not satisfied with the result, because I can't control the yellow color and because we can see the ship through the 4 now.

Any clue on how should I proceed?

    Kind regards

    Loup

    Loup,

    One way is to:

    (1) create a copy of the objects of level 1-5 at the front very and change of colour on the polygon.

    (2) create a copy of the polygon at the front very and exchange of white color.

    (3) select 1) and (2) and in the transparency dialog box check make the opacity with ticked Clip mask.

The way opacity mask may have changed during the versipons, so it may be a little different in your, but you can try the different options.

As always, Illy has many ways of doing things, if you ask him nicely.

  • Redirection and shortcut DMVPN

    Hello

I'm trying to understand the DVMPN Phase 3 and I'm trying to get clarification on the two commands:

    the PNDH IP forwarding

    property intellectual shortened PNDH

Based on what I've read (shortcut for switching Enhancements for PNDH in networks DMVPN) something that I do not understand this article:

"When you use this feature, it recommended to configure the PNDH on all nodes DMVPN ip redirect command." This configuration may be useful in the case where the data traffic takes a path a spoke-to-talk-star".

Why would you redirect need on all nodes dmvpn? How would you have a situation where the traffic comes and leaves the same interfaces on a RADIUS if the NHS and the route summary pointing to the Hub router?

Is there a setting I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

for a simple and structured topology (see diagram 1 below), I agree with your observation. Configure all hubs with ip PNDH redirect only and all sites to talk with ip shortened PNDH.

    (Diagram 1 - Simple topology)

    Hub 1-2

    ! ! ! ! ! !

    ! ! ! ! ! !

    S1 S2 S3 S4 S5 S6

Hub of 1 and 2, configured with ip PNDH redirection only

Spoke of S1 to S6 configured with ip only shortened PNDH

However, to meet the more complex topologies such that where the RADIUS can also act as a hub other rays, so I guess redirect times PNDH ip and ip PNDH shortcut would be necessary on these rays/hub.

(See diagram 2 - complex topology)

    1 Hub - hub 2

    ! ! ! !

    ! ! ! !

    S1 S2 S3 S4

    ! !

    ! !

    S5 S6

    S1 is a Hub 1 RADIUS

    S1 is a hub to S5 and S6

So S1 would have ip PNDH redirection as a shortcut of PNDH active ip.

  • Certificate authentication mode?

I want to try to build a more secure LAN. I want that every client (with or without wire) to connect the network used a certificate not a username/password pair.

But now, as I am a newbie, I don't know what to choose between GANYMEDE + and RADIUS. Because I have a Mac mini, RAY is perhaps more appropriate, but I don't know how to establish the certification authority.

Any help or suggestion will be appreciated!

More generally, we do this in the context of the implementation of a product as of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). ISE uses 802. 1 x and has the ability to check clients for things such as a certificate during authentication / posture assessment / remediation process.

Also, it acts as a RADIUS server, and can dynamically remove permission (CoA) change to the authenticator (i.e. switch or wireless controller) to control things like the assignment of VLAN client and everything you can apply access lists.

Client side, a supplicant is used to interact with the authenticator. You can use native supplicants to OS X or Windows, etc, but we generally recommend use of the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client with its access network (NAM) Module, because it is much more complete for this purpose.

You could also make 802. 1 x with certificate authentication and use an authentication server different backend (like a regular Cisco ACS or Microsoft Network Policy Server), but you get only basic authentication more vs rich functionality what ISE gives (although ISE is much more ;)).

Take a look at this Youtube video for an example of setting up certificates of authentication on ACS:

    There in AppleScript:

Tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2014"

mypathpoints the full path of the channel 1 of the selection value

    -Returns {{1.533492951824, 4.286597905696}, {3.125, 7.11}, {5.486507048176, 6.353402094304}, {4.026786834026, 3.150338420818}}

    tell the end

So js you get the first path of the rectangle and then get entirePath, which returns a list of x, y coordinates of the four corners.

Well, your rectangles are perfectly aligned. Who will never give any valid intersection for simple mathematical reasons - a normal vector with a length of 1 subtract a vector of the same length is finally equal to zero. One of the rectangles must be smaller or bigger, if not a little.
