  I have an OfficeJet-4622 printer set up on my network (wireless) and two computers. The first is a portable computer running Windows 8, and the second is a desktop running Ubuntu Linux. Both have HP (and HP Setup) drivers installed. When I try to print something from the Windows 8, it will start printing and then say that year error has occurred. The print will be print part of a page, nothing or half of employment and a white sheet.

  However, if 'copy' of the printer, or print from the Linux computer, everything works fine. One thing to note is that I'm using remanufactured cartridges, but they should not cause a problem on a single computer only.

  I am at a loss here, so any suggestions on what to do to solve this problem are greatly appreciated.

  I think I solved the problem eventually. On one of the posts of post-its, it linked to a page where you can use the automatic installation wizard. I did, and it reinstalled my driver (s). He had said the previous installation was not completed successfully. So I'll try again to print. The print came out fine. If the previous installation must have been the problem.

  Yes, the printer needs in every color and black ink to keep the printhead in health.  If the color ink is completely exhausted it must be replaced.

  HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

  • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The 8040 a Officejet is an example.

  Have been able to print to my HP Officejet 4622 of my Macbook Air since I got it - four months ago and all of a sudden, it stopped printing.   See printer - but he says that the printer is in use.   BUT it's not.  I can print from my HP laptop, my IPAD and my samsung phone.    I added a dose of reminder to my router about two weeks - don't know if that's when he started or not

  Hey Rik_S, RnRMusicMan is missing and asked me to see if there was one of his answers, I could help with that. Looks like the USB port on the printer as sent its last packet of data, unfortunately for me. There is another way of wireless on the printer configuration, see my thoughts below.

  Restore default network on the printer settings:

  

  On the computer, connect to the network that is similar to this, "HP-direct-Officejet4600series. Open an Internet browser and type in this, "192.168.223.1", press ENTER. A page called the EWS needs to load, click Network or wireless. From there, find and click Start the wizard.

  You should then be able to select your wireless information. Once connected, turn the computer on the home network.

  The problem could be that the print settings could be changed to landscape. Change the setting to portrait and then try to print again.

  To change the settings:

  Right click on the printer > Printer preferences > Layout > select the Portrait Orientation > Apply
