• Applying the active state of the NAV menu high level. to the child pages

  I try to keep a consistent look across child pages of a top-level site. I want the main navigation bar to remain in an active parent page state, while the user navigates the child pages associated with this page using submenus. Ideally I'd like the active State to remain in the top level menu so that the user knows they are still within that parent while they drill down to the specific information they are looking for.

  New to this and am really your "no HTML" experience, just design work lags. For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

  I created a work around what has worked for me.

  My design is a simple text with a highlight color box in the text. I tried to change the text color and the highlight color for stay active when the child pages.

  So what I did was copy the main navigation of my template feature main principal is then 'Paste in Place' on the template page of my child.

  Then on the pasted copy, I changed the text color, background of the text box to cover a master changed and main navigation text box highlight color to match the active state.

• The turn of my computer in the start menu has changed to Shut Down

  Can someone tell me how I can get check it off my computer back in the start menu? I now have what looks like the old classic style of 'Shut Down' with the screen following with a "Shut down Windows" dialog box.

  Shut Down using works well but I prefer to return to "shut down the computer. Style Windows XP still appears for the rest, in other words I'm not "Classic view."

  I must add that I have just completed a complete reinstallation of Windows XP and did a lot of restoration / importers etc. I'm not sure of what I was doing before turn off the computer Shut down Exchange. I prefer not to use system restore I'd lose a lot of work.

• Using "States" on the image and text together

  I'm having a problem with 'States' of an image with text above. I would like for the image to 100% opacity and text to be hidden in the States 'normal' and 'active '. In the States of "mouse down" and the 'reversal', I would like the image to have an opacity of 20% as well as the text to be visible.  Basically, I'm trying to achieve a similar effect to this Web page: http://www.shedbuilt.com/#mi=11 & pt = 0 & pi = 39 & p = -1 & a = -1 & at = -1. I can define States for text and image separately, but I would like that they work as a single object when it is tilted. Thanks for your help!

• How to force Windows 8.1 programmatically refresh/update the Apps menu after start lnk files manually editing menu

  I would like to know if there is a call to API or similar which will refresh the menu apps dynamically.  Because of the way that the applications menu groups of shortcuts by default, if you have multiple items of the same seller they will most likely be displayed together.  It becomes quite confusing when all the shortcuts have the same name.  This happens more often than I like.  To minimize confusion, I have a version icons to move to a different subfolder under start\program c:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start.

  For example, two versions of IBM ODM are installed, they have almost identical shortcuts but both are needed by the developer, so we have:

  c:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\IBM\ODM 8.5.1

  c:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\IBM\ODM 8.7

  In the view menu apps, all will be grouped under "IBM."  I moved and renamed ODM 8.7 to:

  c:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\IBM ODM 8.7.

  However, the menu apps will always show both sets of icons as everything under 'IBM' however a game does not work (because they have been moved).  without any other process, the only way I found to refresh, it's to open a session and return twice.  Reboot, restart explorer.exe (someone suggested that) or other tricks mentioned in the links down below has no effect.

  Steps to recreate:
  1 see the menu apps

  2. rename any existing subfolder which is directly under start\program c:\programdata\Microsoft\windows\Start

  3. open the menu of apps again.  the modified file should be not displaying and in the old group of folder shortcuts no longer work.
  4. open a session once and relog in.  Still, the change should not display.
  5. open a session once and relog again.  The change should now display.

  This delay in the update of behavior has been observed by several people, one that suits that I remember:

  I asked several days regarding the exchange of Experts to see if anyone knew a method without a resolution so far other than workarounds: Experts-Exchange: Windows Apps Menu 8.1 will not update dynamically when you manually change the locations of shortcuts

  Any advice would be greatly appreciated I know I will run into this many times in the future when the native installer does not permit you to change the location of the shortcut.

  How to edit text in the menu items? I created a button at home, but I want to change the text of the House to something else. I tried all methods of selection, I know use years of form of Adobe, but nothing seems to allow me to edit the text.

  Try this:

  When you click on your menu bar, you should see a small blue arrow to the right of the menu. If you click on this button, you will get a menu of Options, as shown below. In the Type of Menu, select "manual". This will allow you to create your own menu bar tabs.

  

  You will now be able to edit the text of your menu buttons. To create new buttons of menu, double-click an existing button and click on the arrows that appear on each side, as shown below:

• The basic menu text alignment

  I redesigned the menu bar to the restaurant I work as an accountant. I have a knowledge base of InDesign (CS2 worm) and now that I'm trying to set up the final draft for the menu, I fight with perfect spacing that I made previously as a draft simply using Visual guidelines. I'll not be myself the impression these on my printer (only 25 copies) so no worried of commercial printing. I'll attach a file of the layout and hope it works.

  
  

  My goal is to have uniform spacing between the name of the element Script fonts and the description of the object police Minion and the spacing between the elements. I have searched for a text alignment and met a lot of information that talks about paragraphs and no seizure of returns and alignment using baseline or document grids grids. All pretty overwhelming to try to understand. I created text using individual text boxes and the characteristics of the alignment.
  

  I would be happy to the easiest way to create this menu that would be visually nice and consistent.

  Sorry for the delay in response, it was one of those days hehe.

  I'll give a creation step by step on just the first text box, and (for the most part)

  1. create the text box and put the copy in the box

  -Create the box big enough so that if you were to copy and paste all of the text in another document, it will fit.  (personally I set the margins of the entire page and create the text box to the margin, only height adjustment to compensate for the red bar header you have to go at the top). But let me ask you this question.  You have all the elements of the menu on a WORD document (or something similar)?  If so, you can copy and paste everything at once.

  -Anyway it doesn't really matter how to get everything that he, just put all the appetizers in a framed with here descriptions and prices, obviously placing them in the order you want to read.  For example

  Fried Ravioli7.959.95

  Item description goes on the next line.

  Crab Cakes7.959.95

  Item description goes on the next line.

  etc...

  (Make sure you have none between the two additional lines each element is important...) You will become too overwhelmed by the desire to use the space bar or the tab key to setting the price of space, are not!  Laughing out loud...   -Set up the first line (Fried Ravioli7.959.95) with the size of the exact font, font family and color you want all of the elements to search for.

  -Now place your cursor inbetween fried ravioli and 7.95 and press the tab key, then place the cursor between 7.95 and 9.95 and press the tab key.  Should look like this now

  Dumplings fried 7.95-9.95

  Item description goes on the next line.

  Crab Cakes7.959.95

  Item description goes on the next line.

  etc...

  -Press Shift + Ctrl + T... This opens the ruler above the text box tab (it's kind of like the ruler of MS WORD at the top of the page only you can move).  Notice in the area, above the rule, there are more arrows, one pointing to the left, middle, right, middle.  Click the right arrow (which means the text will align to the right) with the right arrow selected, click on the rule and drag the marker to the tab where you want to than the first price to display (by dragging, you will notice prices moving with it, it's good) now place another faucet brand, once again, by clicking on the rule , just this one you want to drag all the way to the right, until it is just at the end of the text box.  Your first line should now look like this:

  Dumplings fried 7.95-9.95

  Item description goes on the next line.

  Crab Cakes7.959.95

  Item description goes on the next line.

  etc...

  3. format Description

  -Once format description of the exact font family, font-size and color you want all descriptions look.

  4. create the style of paragraph for elements (ok, let's go with the paragraph styles)

  -Open the palette paragraph styles.

  -Then place your cursor anywhere on the first line.

  -While pressing the Alt key, click on the "create the new paragraph style" icon at the bottom of the Palette (it will look like a small piece of paper, next to a small trash can) paragraph styles, you will notice that a box opens, it's the settings in paragraph Styles box.  (but because you held ALT key while clicking on the icon of new style, all styles have been generated automatically.)  So all you need to do is type a name (at the top of the box), and then click ok.  Name it "Items".

  5. create the style of paragraph for description

  -Repeat step 4, only this time you will first of all place your cursor anywhere on the description line.  And appointing decription

  6. apply styles to paragraph for the rest of the elements

  OK, I won't tell you created styles in a loop, to get in shape all copy at a time, which would take too long to write... hehe...

  But now that you have your two paragraphs created styles you can click format all other elements, that he takes no time

  -Place your cursor on the first line of the order of the day, and the right mouse button click on the paragraph style "Items", in the paragraph style palette... In the menu, select the choice: apply style "Items" + clear overrides and character styles obvious (this will ensure that the line is formatted for the paragraph style you set exact)

  Now you should have this properly set line-shaped... But uh oh, there is still no space between the two elements. I'm glad you noticed. Open the "Items" paragraph style settings, you will notice on the left there are tabs.  Click on the tab 'line spacing '.  Find the text box that says: "a space before" and enter a value (this will be the distance inbetween each element, so according to the units you are using, picas, inches, etc. assign a reasonable space.)  I would have put in. a.125.    If you have clicked on the box preview (located on the lower left corner of the settings box) you will immediately see your items should be spaced.  Click ok to exit the settings box.

  -Repeat the previous step with the descriptions.  You won't have to worry about spacing here

  -Now, repeat the previous two steps until all items are formatted.

  7 make the blue Happy Hour price

  Highlight the first price you want blue.  change the font color of blue, now in the Toolbox, select the "eyedropper" (you can't miss it, it resembles a dropper... lol) with the eyedropper tool, click the text highlighted in blue, but now empy changes look full.

  A bit like the format in word, this pipette brush is now the exact formatting of the blue pricing.

  -Now with the complete pipette, highlight each prize to the bottom of the list that is supposed to be blue.  Each item you want will change from black to blue.

  I was hoping to find a solution as to why working with menus in muse 2015.2 is very slow? or if anyone else knows this problem. I checked my file and created a menu in a completely new site, but it's still unbearable to work with. I doubt, this is a problem caused by the lack of RAM (I have 16 gb) any help would be much appreciated!

  Hi, I'm new to labview and I have a few questions.  I came to a point in my code where I'm stuck.  I have attached the code so you can see where I am.  My problem comes into play with the toggle button.  I need to know if there is a way to change its operation based on a condition.  I want to it have where when you press the button, it remains pressed.  But if it meets a condition, it turns itself off.  In my code, I have a point where I need an output message, but because the State of the button does not change, it keeps out the message unless I have disable the program.

  If that makes sense, anyone know of a solution to this?

• No Audio output device is installed... need more suggestions I already tried the solutions proposed by the Help menu.

  I get the message "no Audio output device is installed" with the little thing red x in the lower right corner of my computer screen. I looked up problems and common solutions.
  I uninstalled the device drivers in the menu equipment and also in the menu programs and features, after this, I restarted my computer before reinstalling.
  I did it too, but instead of reainstalling manually, I plugged my audio in a different speaker and let the computer to reinstall the driver by itself.
  I restarted the computer, the system restored the computer, put it to sleep, awake it save, close and let rest before restarting it.
  I checked the BIOS menu and changed the sound is activated instead of auto and tried uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers with this option, but the small x is still there.
  When I go into my control panel Device Manager and open the sound video and game controllers, I see my Realtek High definition audio. I open it to properties and it says it's working properly... then why my sound is not working? I've also updated the drivers and downloaded specifically on the realtek site, but no difference was filed.

  The sound is working again. I went camping for 2 days and came back, and it worked. It did NOT work once again before I left, he was dead. It sounds terrible, it of quiet and fades quieter and the but it works.

  None of the suggestions given here did something to help my problem. The proposed update does not work on my computer, I couldn't even download. I'll probably install a new sound card, but I would have liked your comments on this suggestion since I asked if this might be the problem several times. I'm annoyed that there was no way real and say what my problem is that after I answered engineers none of them responded to additional feedback I had given.

• Some icons on the start menu are missing after a remote desktop session in Windows 7

  I use Win7 Pro SP1 and whenever I come back to my office after finishing a session desktop connection to my computer remotely, I noticed several of the icons in the all programs from the Start Menu section changed to default page icons. If I try to open any programs that are pinned to the start itself, it will indicate that the program cannot be found. Notepad and Calculator in particular to keep more victims of this problem.

  I also noticed that the audio controller is disabled until I restart.

  I found a batch file that will rebuild the icon cache, but this very annoying to have to keep doing it because I have to remote into my computer almost every morning for the daily scrum meetings we hold in a conference room.

  Does anyone know a permanent fix?

• Selecting correct state in the drop-down list.

  Here is my delima. I have a form that gets repopulate when users come back to update their contact information. Name, address, etc. of the State. What I am having a problem with performs their State to be selected from a drop-down list. For example, if I'm from Ohio, so I want Ohio selected in the drop-down list. I don't want the user to have to select again the State if the information has not changed. Here's an example of how it is formatted.
